I like that you used the butterflies with the lily inlay. The flowers would have looked good also but the butterflies just set it off perfectly Julie. Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! 💗
I don't work with resin or anything I would need a silicone mold for, & I don't know all of the molds you make, but when I watched your flower mold series I thought it would look really nice to have a vine & leaves all the way around the edge. And now with what I think of as your animal series I think it would look really cool to have fish or little geckos going around, but instead of up & down having them tail to face kind of like they're chasing each other around the mold. I love the things you make, & you're so creative, I just thought I'd make the suggestion in case it was something you hadn't thought of.

The butterfly mold is great, as is the flower inlay. I would have gone a little darker blue, but the flower color is perfect. I knew you would catch the leaf, I just didn't know when. 9.999999 out of 10 ❤ 😉

Love this mold! I can't wait to get one. I use microfiber wash clothes to clean up my silacone and they work better than anything I've ever used.

Came out just gorgeous Julie!
Definitely a type of lily. Irises have four primary petals that look a bit like a ball gown in shape from certain angles. The two middle petals curl upward, concealing the center protectively, while the other two outer petals curl downward, looking a bit like a skirt being lifted on the sides for a curtsey. These four petals are very prominent, and slightly wavy with a gentle ruffle on the edges. The most common colors for Irises are various shades of indigo-y purple, and white, though there are other colors to choose from thanks to careful breeding. They will bloom for several weeks every year because they're a reasonably low maintenance bulb plant; plant them once, and forget them, as they say.

The inlay is very pretty. The butterflies are pretty but I’m not a fan of the colors together. I think the butterflies should be a pastel like the flowers or flower as dark as butterflies. I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day too. 😊❤

I got a swinging magnifying glass normally used for working on miniatures to look for bubbles LOL bubbles are the enemy! So is that missed leaf.

Love how this turned out. And I rather like that the pink is as soft as it is... Gives a little more natural definition to the petals. The pink marker is a little much for me, still nice though.
It makes me giggle hearing people call the tool a scalpel though. Scalpels are surgical and doesn't come with changeable blades. It's an exacto knife. My giggling though is because I used to call it a scalpel too until I went into graphic design class in highschool and later college and it was mandatory to keep one with us.

I use a sewing needle 😂 for bubbles! Its thin and sharp and can pop them deep!

Simply beautiful! Who cares what you call your knife. I call it sharp as I have put one of those blades through a finger. It is as sharp as a surgical knife! Always cut away from you with any knife.
I actually like it on the other side whereas I would coat with clear resin on the flower. But it is beautiful your way too.

Hi Julie. Love, love the flower inlay. Spent a good part of the day yesterday looking on Ebay to find something similar so I could make the inlay myself. No luck.....are you considering making one and selling it on your Ebay site. Sure would scarf that up. Thank you for all your beautiful work.
It’s also Mother’s Day in the US today, but both my mother and step-mother are halfway across the country at the moment.
I am somewhat certain that this particular lily represents mothers in some way.
Julie, after watching this video I had a brainstorm ( look out ! )😳.
I wondered if it were possible or feasible, to make a permanent cork inlay, something pretty that fits the coasters. You could sell the inlays with a coaster mold as a set or separately. Butterflies for this mold would be awesome, or flowers for flower molds, mix and match, whatever. You're the one who knows what will sell.
Embossing some detail like this inlay might be possible if not too deep. Then you could sell regular inlays or embossed. 2 different possibilities, prices and more choices for your store.
Okay, I'm done. Perhaps I should hide behind the couch now in case things start getting crazy and people want to throw things.😮

Julie, I'm loving this creation, but do you know what I would really love for to make with this inlay? Something simple clear and that resembles the original plate that you took the mold from of the the lily. When I saw the thumbnail of the video I really thought that was your finished piece or close to it being completed. If you could consider doing a video of some sort that would be AMAZING!

Have you ever considered tinting your inlays with a very light color? I’m thinking that it might make it easier to center when you are placing them in the larger molds.
