Love the effect but, if I may suggest, maybe use really thin lines of the white. Not sure if that would make a difference. Maybe thin lines on the first layer, a tad bit thicker on the middle layer, then back to the thin lines on the last. I just love watching your experiments. and I love the slate rock look . Cheers
I think it's absolutely beautiful! It may not be what you were going for but like you said it was your first try and I love it! I really think it's great that you are going out of your comfort zone and making different shapes of molds. I don't see a lot of people doing it. This is very unique it's beautiful it would look really good on them like one of those stands that holds a plate. You know they're they're like metal easels. But Bravo such creativity I'm so excited to see more I just love the fact that you went out and got a really cool rock and did this really unique shape that not a lot of people if anybody has I really love the rock size even the different texture really unique❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Cool idea of using a slate rock from your garden !! For your first attempt it turned out very nice yeah the top that was up is what I'd display 😊but that's me , Thank You for sharing with us ❤
Just a thought, when mixing the blue, don’t completely mix it in. So when you pour it you will get thin streaks of darker blue, which would look like cracks deeper down.
Always enjoy your experiments ! The rock edge came out perfect. 😊 I think you should make a mold. Looking forward to seeing your second one. Have a great day.
Julie you are truly Incredible and I am Amazed at all that you do. I have watched you for years, and I am so very intrigued with the resign that you are doing. I have wanted to try resign, but I am so scared to actually try it. You make it look so easy. I will have to keep watching you and try to get the courage to try it Love💜💜💜
Hello from another Sunshine Coast in Florida! Thank you for your humility in allowing us to see you in real time learning. Happy to see your confidence in trying new things. I often say I wonder what would happen if? And then you do it in the next video. Seen about 20 so far. Thank you for inspiring me to try resin and keep up the good work!
Very nice! I'm originally from Northern Minnesota (live in Florida now), cracks in the lake ice during the winter isn't as shallow. Sometimes, they go down feet ! Maybe pouring the mold full, then pulling the white down deeper and not as many cracks?
Love the feathery side best. Know you were going for cracked ice but the edge on the mold makes this look amazing! Kind of like a polished slate stone. ❤❤
I also suggest thin lines with a toothpick and also try not to make too many blobs. I really enjoyed this and the rock effect. I love it ❤ I love your experiments. I can't wait for the next video of the same. 😊
I love the "back"! My philosophy on flat poured objects is that the artist can chose their favourite side and make that the front, never-mind the original plan 😊 stone edge mold is stunning
Julie you are the queen.❤ You've done a great job on the cracked ice. I think a skewer or something pointy would be helpful with the fine cracks. Amazing creation.❤
Beautiful piece Julie just love it. As for your left over White put some royal blue glitter in it and make some puffy hearts lol. I think White and Blue go very good together is why I suggested it. I would love to see what the puffy hearts look like if you ever do it thank you for your videos I look forward to watching them. I look for them every day.
Hello, turn the dark blue on it's edge(long way) and there is a whole different picture, effect. Not too dark, just right ,keep BOTH sides showing. So VERY neat, you can borrow my dremel if I can pick 1 of your creations🥰,always enjoy watching, thanks for sharing ,hello to your Furbabies,I saw the new itty bitties last week, sooo cute🌷💥
Hey Julie! This was a cool idea and great first attempt. Love those edges of the mold. Wonder if you did a lot of the lines thinner and have some of them kind of stem off of each other, if it would give a good cracked look? Sorta like how those big lightening strikes streak across the sky. Hey, that would be another amazing effect!! I know with your talent and determination, you'll knock it outta the park. Can't wait for the next one!!😁 Big Hugs from Texas!!😄😍
Absolutely gorgeous Julie!! I also like the "back" side a little bit better, though. I wonder if maybe using a thinner resin would get the white to drop down further and get a look closer to the back on the front. 🤔 Also I'm absolutely in love with this mold! It really looks like a slab of ice when poured like this, I bet you could do all sorts of cool gem-like "stone" resin slabs! Excited to see you try this technique again! You're so clever!
Love the texture the slate has given. I agree it looks best from the pour side rather than flipped over. I think once you've tweaked it, it will be brilliant. I mean, that's an amazing idea you've come with. I can't wait to see it progress. ❤
good effect, there is a productthat Daniel Cooper uses that gives a cracked ice look, it starts with "V" I want to say Vellagio, but but it may be something else. Its really effetive. actually its Vallejo Frost Paint
This turned out pretty cool Julie. Hey we are learning along with you. I love how you take on new resin projects and try them. ❤ I can't wait to see your next try , Also by the way I really really think the rock layers went onto the mold and onto the resin edges. ❤😎
It turned out amazing, I like that shape. ❤ If I need to clean out a mold I used outdated yellowed resin, instead of throwing it out, I also spread a thin lawyer on silicon mats to clean up the stain an spills. Puppies 🐾❤️
OMGosh I saw that video. She was on my safe-to-watch list. It still hurts to laugh but I'm getting resin video withdrawal. So don't make me laugh now!😅🤕 I had to go back to the hospital this weekend. The only person awake to talk to was my friend in Melbourne. 😅 ouch! Puppies! Can't wait for them to arrive. I just had a thought. I wonder how spider gel for nails would work?
You'd just cleaned your gloves, maybe shook your hands & a fan/open window - (it was windy, you said), could have blown the chemicals to settle on the mould? Best guess I could come up with, that or the black liquitex doesn't mix well with your bloom 😮. Anyway, always love your creativity & Thank you for sharing 😊xx
Oh Wow Chica, both sides looks spectacular! 😍 I loved those edges as well. It had that rocky look. I would love to see you try something with Styrofoam. I bet it would look beautiful and I haven't seen anyone give it a go. So since you gave this a shot and are willing to do it again in between try doing something with Styrofoam. I'll be watching for it anxiously for you to try this again and for give your creative hand doing Resin with Styrofoam. Have a great rest of your day!❤🎉😊
Thank you, Julie. I just got my molds today, and I just started dusting flowers. I got the sunflower inlay fits perfectly in the cascade tray. I am having so much fun and love the puffy hearts 💜🩷🩵
Oh I like this. It reminds me of nature. Does it own thing. I am excited to see you do it again. I am learning all the cool things you can mold and make beautiful things with. Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
The pouring side is pretty! I think it’s a fantastic first try at it. I also was very inspired by Natalia from _natirum_ ice resin version. I LOVE your mold made from the slate rock. I have always found the edges of slate to be gorgeous
WOW, that is really cool, Julie! I love the looks of cracked ice; it always has mysterious depths to it. The casting is just *gorgeous!* Those matte edges are awesome. 😍💕👍 I noticed that the white lines on the middle layer really feathered out nicely! Was that due to the heat gun? Maybe use fewer lines on the 2nd & 3rd layer, and make the 1st layer darker, but layers 2 & 3 not quite as dark? Just suggestions, as I've never done anything like it - ever! 😊
I saw ur channel in the beginning when u started it and now u have a great business how did u manage to build such a following and having molds made and selling them I see you have ur own silicon mold mix how did you do all of this ?????
You made cells the 2nd layer which people generally try desperately to get. But you either got them because you just torched, which is likely or it had something to do with the liquitex. Only saying that because I've never used it.
While the back side is prettier, it doesn’t look like cracked ice at all in my opinion, the front side does look more like cracked ice. If that’s the look you’re going for, I thought the front side looked great and was actually preferable. I quite liked it. The edges were definitely cool.
Would putting a few white lines down before pouring the blue and the rest of your lines give you that white effect on the top? Or would they just spread everywhere when the blue was poured on top?
@PouringYourHeartOut thank you for your kindness 🙏 GOD BLESS YOU, I'm your fan from Egypt 🇪🇬, I'm trying to work with resin project , but so difficult to find same products in middle east, I wish to communicate with you, you are very professional ,I'm so happy 😊 you answered me, it's pleasure to watch your talent, by the way so cute puppy's 😍
What would u suggest for someone just starting I just got a resin kit and a few molds is there anything else u think would be good to have also what is the difference between alcohol ink , resin die and pigment paste ???
On second layer I think you should have stopped fiddling after you pulled stick through the bubbly rows. Also I thought you needed lighter colored resin. Nice first attempt
Do the white lines super thin. Use your piping bag and cut the smallest hole. Make your lines super straight and don’t have them all going all the way across. Have some smaller lines starting from and existing line.
It's great I love the edges, looks great Julie ❤

I love seeing your pups, and the birds. I breed my girls as well, and can't wait for the next litter.
The puppies just made my whole day ❤❤❤
Julie it turned out great. You worry way to much! You should see my first, second and sometimes third attempts! I learn so much from you everyday. 💗
LESS IS MORE Julie!!!!
Oh Julie, where you live is paradise. ❤ Love the effect and looking forward to your next attempt. A work in progress 😊
Great mold from the slate. The edges are just incredible. Always love your experiments. Thank you so much for sharing.

Turned out really cool. I like it 😊

I love your beautiful yard and home.
Maybe it was too many lines.

That is so beautiful.
Love ❤️ it
You’re the best! From Atlanta
It looks like lightning too.
Super cool mold❤

Very pretty
It's beautiful on both sides, Julie. ❤
It turned out amazing, I like that shape. ❤
If I need to clean out a mold I used outdated yellowed resin, instead of throwing it out, I also spread a thin lawyer on silicon mats to clean up the stain an spills. Puppies 🐾❤️
I 100% prefer the 2nd side! It looks like it has much more depth.

Yes, try again!! I love this mold.❤
That’s really cool 😂
I love the mould! The edges are amazing! Personally I prefer the darker side. Looking forward to seeing what else you do with it!👍☺️💐

I LOVE your mold made from the slate rock. I have always found the edges of slate to be gorgeous
I couldn't find it can you please attach a link
The bubbles or cells looks cool. Nature is not perfect..m
Definitely love the layered slate edge. That's a very nice look, and the top layer of the resin art turned out really well, too.
I love how it all turned out. Beautiful ❤❤❤
First! Can't wait to see these results! 😊
So pretty! Can’t help but think of chemtrail skies while you’re pouring those white streaks, though 😂
Great mold! Game out very nice, though a little muddled. Thanks for sharing!❤
that's a great effect--very 3D
Julie that is great mould and it is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I’d love to see what you could do with texture art!
Beautifully done julie
İşleriniz çok güzel

Wow, you made Chemtrails!
Pode fazer o próximo só com um azul puro sem nada , vai parecer que vc tem um pedaço de lago nas mãos! Ficou lindo.
Julie, I do admire how you are not afraid to try something new and different! You me to shame!
I saw ur channel in the beginning when u started it and now u have a great business how did u manage to build such a following and having molds made and selling them I see you have ur own silicon mold mix how did you do all of this ?????

Ice cracks are a lot like resin has a mind of its own.
Would putting a few white lines down before pouring the blue and the rest of your lines give you that white effect on the top? Or would they just spread everywhere when the blue was poured on top?
I still think it's pretty.
I don’t see the molding product on the site.
Maybe message them
❤hello!
Interesting to watch but what are you trying to make?
Help me, how I fix and clean my mold with un dryer resin?
Try the freezer
@PouringYourHeartOut thank you for your kindness 🙏 GOD BLESS YOU, I'm your fan from Egypt 🇪🇬, I'm trying to work with resin project , but so difficult to find same products in middle east, I wish to communicate with you, you are very professional ,I'm so happy 😊 you answered me, it's pleasure to watch your talent, by the way so cute puppy's 😍

Can one use I-Gum to make 3-D molds?
I haven't tried it
Very informative! Thank you! I love slate! How long do you think it took to mix the yellow and white together?
On second layer I think you should have stopped fiddling after you pulled stick through the bubbly rows. Also I thought you needed lighter colored resin. Nice first attempt
Can I ask who it was you got the idea from have looked up Atrium but not sure if that's what you said. Could you please let me know

Maybe draw fewer cracks, but “trace” over them at each layer to give the impression of depth?
❤
