I've got one of them I use it after putting a meat pie for 3 minutes in the microwave oven.
Browns up the top nicely and lovely crisp pastry.
A microwave oven has a large resonant electronic device producing high frequency radiation that penetrates and warms the food from the inside out. It is like a small radio or TV transmitter and works the same way except the food is the aerial. Hello from a technician who worked in a Radio transmitting station.
The wires only connect up normal heating elements as in a normal oven. Cheers from Australia. (Got a real chuckle at the end when the cheese inside the snags as we call them misbehaved and split them.)
