Great video, congrats! I wish I could have 1/4 of the quality equipment you have :) This is a great further dive into your preferences and background which truly helps us all get more of a sense of how you equate and analyze things. We now have somewhat of a base reference. Cheers to 10 more years!
I do like your approach to room treatment Hans. I’ve always held the belief that if you’ve assembled a good set of electronics, with good synergy and a pair of speakers that load the room correctly, then the need for room treatment is diminished.
Dear Hans, congratulations for your 10th anniversary! You're doing great work for us and I hardly miss any episode. Your anniversary video is very impressive and shows your remarkable expertise! In addition you took me on an emotional journey from past to presence. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your amazing journey Hans…Big fan from Kenya..I admire your deep knowledge of digital playback and your straight-to-the-point reviews. Congratulations on the strides you’ve made on your audiophile journey to your current reference set-ups. Do you one day plan to review the Playback Designs DAC by Andreas Koch and its unique use of DSD as the primary playback codec, and also how it might compare to the revolutionary Grimm Audio MU2’s 1.5bit conversion technology..
Today I reviewed your video a second time . Pretty impressive equipment history. From your experience, has sound quality constantly improved in all equipment categories during your HiFi history? Or is affordable second hand High End gear (maybe 20 years old) a considerable alternative?
You know I've heard the Scorpios twice and they're a really interesting speaker. You don't mention if you still own them but I'd love a deep dive into the crossover network.
why don't you get into turntables again, you should review the DS light photo sensitive cartridge, probably like that cartridge like the best dac streamer you've ever hear plenty of dynamics. why don't you use a studio dac?
From 1988 to 2017 I changed nothing in my stereo system. When it was due for replacement, it seemed almost everything in the Hi-Fi world had changed. This channel was a great help to get me up to speed. And it still is. Thanks Hans!
"Anyone that nowadays says that file based audio doesn't sound as good as vinyl or CD, don't know his business" Thank you for this well-founded statement. There is actually no reason these days to prefer a turntable over a well-made streamer/DAC combination, from an audiophile standpoint alone. Unfortunately, this information has not yet reached everyone and so huge amounts of money are still being invested in drives, tonearms, needles, power supplies and phono preamplifiers. Maybe you could make a video and show how you can use digital filters and sound processors to degrade the sound of a HiRes stream so that it sounds as good as a record after the procedure.
Today, Teac isn't also a popular brand, at least in Europe. It's a shame, because with some of their recent products you get trickled down tech from their premium brand Esoteric for a much lower price.
Hansen always interesting and captivating. Your straight forward but subtle insights are educational for me. Like you up in age and have gone back to my vast CD collection as my media choice. As for my hugh vinyl collection, it's been sold, passed on family members, mostly great nephews and nieces who are enjoying the record revival. I have keep some LPs that love hearing on my now automatic TT. 😊 yes, I know but at my age adjustments are needed. Once again beautiful presentation. 👏🎶🎵
Thank you for your persistent curiosity & passion for sharing/educating, all this despite your physical obstacles. May your listening remain forever fulfilling!
What an excellent recap and a joy to listen to. I go back to 8 track ! Love your channel Hans, keep it up.
Thanks for listening
Interesting video, I love to know the story behind an experienced person. So much to learn.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I agree, although it doesn't go for every room.

Knowledge, experience and integrity. Undeniably the best audio review channel on UA-cam.
Appreciate that
A wonderful history, thank you so much for sharing Hans. I am looking forwards to your updated book
It will take some time before it's finished.
Excellent video memoir both of yourself and your gear. Interesting to know why you don't test vinyl related gear. For every door that closes . . .
So true. Don't think in problems, think opportunities.

I wouldn't go for 20 year old gear to be honest. There have been developments. But like in the old you have to make right choices.
Hahaha Hans you novice. 😂
Great story great channel. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it

I think that nowadays turntables are mainly bought for sentimental reasons rather than sound quality. I’m not going to fight that fight 😁
I like it, the Electrostatics gave up 1st 🚬
🙏🏻
Thank you! I learn from your channel!
Glad to hear that!
Great to hear about your audio journey, Hans.

In the right circle it is popular, also in Europe.
