  • Despite his many calls for peace in Ukraine and his overt words of support on social media for the Ukrainian people, 20-year-old Russian piano prodigy Alexander Malofeev is canceled by the ultra woke mob at the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Alexander would say after ward that despite his previous Facebook posts denouncing the Ukraine war, the Montreal Orchestra was asking him for MORE posts denouncing Putin. He said he was uncomfortable with that because he worried for his family in Russia. This coming on the heels of The Metropolitan Opera in New York canceling all engagements with singer Anna Netrebko and the shunning of Maestro Valery Gergiev.

Russian musician here. Been subscribed to you for years. You have my respect! Yes, Russian people are commonly blamed for not protesting hard enough, but most of the time it's just an excuse to justify someone's anger. This is a terrible situation, but I'm happy to see that common people on both sides still have respect and understanding for each other despite of what politicians say or do.

Easy to say when they are not the ones that have to be careful as to not get the snot beat out of them by Russian security or police. People are defined by there actions. I have a young man Igor Annikov who builds guitar pedals for me. StongateFX. He has charities for Ukraine and other countries. He is bad man ? I think not. World leaders love it when us pawns fight each other. They would lose their power if we all said no to their violent desires. We have better things to do. Because really...we do.

welp, the Russian people might wanna think long and hard about over throwing this regime, cuz tell you what, vladimir hitler talk a big game on nukes and a mighty military, frankly its lackluster and non threatening in big way, same for chyna, all talk.. the USA on the other hand has anti ballistic weaponry that will detonate and destroy any thing russia launches OVER THEIR OWN NATION!
meanwhile rishia posses no long range anti ballistic weaponry capable of fending off the SHOWER the USA can unleash on rushia... and this very well may be what the geedmongers end game is, think of all the contract money to be made by rushian elite and politicians rebuilding 3-4 major cities? it would be a literal gold rush, all to be exploited by rushian gredmongers and politicians, just as every major war is a jackpot for these creeps..
and the money the USA would make restocking the military shelves why its a win win, the rich get richer and the poor, well the poor they pay for it, in every way possible, many with their lives..
if you have any inclination ONE SINGLE leader or politician cares for even ONE civilian not known by them then all you must do is look at the prenatal hospital destroyed by a rushian scud and see the damage and lives it took, INFANTS! FFS people, the rushian military leaders fooled and lied to their soldiers and told them they were on a war game mission, training, as many of them were brand new!!! is this the act of caring? is the fact the USA sits around sucking their thumbs an act of caring? the USA could end this in a heartbeat, and then punish those responsible, buit no! they smell the money, the tactical advantage of more money and control.. the world is led by sociopaths then everyone complains when things go south? and that makes the PEOPLE SOCIOPATHS AS WELL!!!
these people could care less about ANY SINGLE ONE OF US! if you're not their friend, their blood, you're completely expendable.. figure this shit out people.. there isn't one single rushian politician or leader that give one fat ratt fugg about one single rushian unbeknownst to them, if they did they wouldn't have put the rushian people in jeopardy, but they simply DO NOT CARE.. and the sooner every single man woman and child get this THROUGH THEIR THICK SKULL WORLDWIDE the better off everyone will be, at least at that point we all KNOW WHERE WE STAND!
but you people pout there who think there is someone who might save you or someone in leadership that CARE ABOUT YOU?
you're delusional and making the entire situation even that much more difficult, especially those who are trying to alert the people of what's going pon and to shine a light on it.. no one in the USA cares about americans, they only have one true master and its green, and its called money... the sooner you figure this out the sooner you will be able to deal with it, maybe one day mankind can end this once and for all?

As if killing my parents, my brother and quite possibly my niece is not enough for the CIA and the Gestapo/SBU. Well said. Back in the 90s there was a joint exercise with the Russian navy in Hawaii. A friend and I were asked to play at an embassy party for the Russians. The Russian navy band performed for about half an hour and then everybody mingled. We started playing and pretty soon we were surrounded by a bunch of Russian navy band guys who wanted to jam. We couldn't understand them except for the word "Beatles". Luckily my friend knows a whole bunch of Beatles songs. So he led, I followed, and the Russians joined in. We had so much fun that we went into overtime, but the audience enjoyed it too. It's one of my best memories. The Russians are just like us. They love music, they laugh and sing and have fun. They got tired of their relatives getting shelled by Nazis for 8 years. Over 13,000 dead. I think the liars and warmongers here in the west should be cancelled. Wouldn't that be a change!

As the son of a German mother and a Scottish father a product of the second world war and someone who is old enough to be your father let me say a few words Brad. My father was a D Day veteran and one of the first liberators of Belsen. He was decorated with the Military Medal for his bravery by the then king. My mother was an international hockey player Germany. They met when under curfew my father who was a sergeant MP. asked why she was out. She replied she was looking for her lost dog. From that meeting a romance ensused and she came to Scotland and they raised six children. My mother had been raised on the great German composers and a true love for classical music. In the 1950's the first Edinburgh International Festival was held and the then great conductor Wilhelm Furtwangler came. My mother wanted to see him but had no money so she pawned a gold ring my father had swapped for a radio in Berlin in 1945. Furtwangler was received with great applause only a few years after this world war. The point I'm making that music will hold nations together,no Russian singer or musician should be sanctioned. Best wishes from me of your long term viewers. Peace.

This tyrannical shift sprouted in the US a ling time ago when the mainstream media and state apparatus in the Pentagon lost control of the narrative and propaganda.
      It’s not about democracy.
Remember they pursued Assange in 2010 (Obama regime) and he is still incarcerated without charges laid.
The target for the ruling class has always been the people as especially those that display open dissent.
Democracy and freedom is an illusion they kept going as they stuffed their pickets with wealth and fed off more and more power.
Even Orwell and Huxley would be spinning in their caskets only getting the timing slightly wrong.

@Christine Thank you that seems to have helped. Moving that away from the 12AU7 (which is being used as the power tube) seems to have helped a lot. It got rid of the ringing sound however there is still a humming sound which gets reduced when I switch my pickups to a humbucking position and completely goes away when I turn the volume all the way down and comes back if I unplug the guitar cord from the amp.
Do you think it's likely that the rest of the hum is because there is not enough distance between these tubes? There's only three quarters of an inch spacing between these tubes.

By the way, Pink Floyd have just announced removing all their music from digital providers for Russian and Belarus users.. Hectic. Well, we will be fine, as out torrent thing is still working. After all, those who do this cancel culture thing (including artists themselves) will loose money from tours (they win a fortune while touring in Russia), streaming, they will have to come back to the "market" one day. Malofeev's concert in Vancouver was cancelled too. But, I'm not so sure that any Ukrainians instigated any of the cancellations. It's more likely that the impresarios were concerned about the future of their own careers if they made the wrong decision to allow Russian musicians to perform. The impresarios were afraid of a backlash; for them it's always all about money. In the end, it's almost always about the money for everybody. However, I seriously doubt that picket lines would have formed around concert venues. Nobody I know hates Russians or Russian culture, it's the Czar that is the problem. Don't forget what the Czar did to the Polish people and the Chopin family piano. Eventually, the Russians will assassinate the present Czar and order will be restored for a while longer because it's always all about money.

@Christine What the actual f**k do you know about what I know about Ukraine??
If Mexico invaded Texas under the pretence of defending Mexicans against Trumpist Mexican-hating f**ktards, and the subsequent military reaction from the US to protect its territory caused harm to the Mexicans (and indeed other Americans) in the region, would the US be to blame??
This is neither ignorance, nor virtue signaling or double standards. Prior to the Russian INVASION of Crimea and Donbas eight years ago, there was no persecution of Russian people in the region, neither was there any persecution of "Russian" people in the rest of Ukraine. This was entirely a Putin construct to somehow rationalize his invasion - the first step of taking territorial control in Ukraine.
I have been to Ukraine several times (first time in 1998) and have friends from all over the country - many of them actually happen to have Russian as their first language and even more of them have relatives who lives/used to live in Russia.
Since Putins invasion of Crimea and Donbas, the support for NATO membership and a closer integration with Europe has exploded, also within the Russian speaking parts of the population. Before 2014 the majority supported a neutralist path, but Putins aggression completely backfired and have spawned a great independence movement within Ukraine across the political and ethnic spectrum. Naturally the presence of Russian and insurgent troops in the occupied regions have led to polarization within the communities in the East and South-East, which is exactly what Putin wanted.

this situation dosnt really look good for all the people in the west (especially in europe) and in russia. at the least europe and russia will be further divided, which harms both. if only europe and russia could find a common ground and start working together. i am sure that would be a strong union. of course russia need to step up their politics a lot for that, but war and sanctions probably wont help much in that regard. we missed a big chance after the fall of the soviet union. europe should have helped russia become democratic and get rid of soviet structures within politics. just like the US helped germany after WW2.

What is most incomprehensible to me is that it is necessary to explain this even to the artists themselves, someone who should be on a certain level culturally and morally and have certain social awareness. Real art is supposed to reflect society, to make the world a better place, not live in its own bubble. These people have the opportunity to send a clear signal to their country that something is wrong, but they choose not to do it for whatever reasons. And unfortunately, that is the core issue of this war: no one cares and most of all those most involved. It's not Putin who's waging the war but Russia. And they let that person run the country as his property for more than 20 years without any opposition and now they afraid? I bet they are, but little too late. You think that's normal to be afraid of your family if you openly disagree with your goverment? Did you also think about families in Ukraine and how they feel right now? So what are we supposed to do to fix this mess which dragging us all along? Everyone lives in some kind of society and is responsible for its actions. Start to learn to take responsibility ppl. What kind of an apology is it, that you were all your life thinking about music and somehow missed that the very country you live in is sinking into an abyss? ... And the line is very clear: we boycott these people to let them know that something is wrong (because most of them are clearly not capable of realizing it themselves) and that they should start to doing something about it. When we start persecuting them for what they are and taking our anger out on them, only then will it be wrong. ... And I guess I have to explain to you WHY NOW is it important. Because the war is going on RIGHT NOW and tomorrow will be too late. This isn't just another woke excess of some bored ppl. This is very real thing and everyone in Europe feels it. Maybe for you on the other side of the ocean it's just an annoyance.

NATO is the aggressor here. You probably don’t even know this war started in 2014. I’d venture a guess you know nothing you didn’t hear on CIA-controlled media. You are an absolute fool, and your lack of awareness is what’s going to end up leading us into WW3.

If they cancel Viktor Tsoi, I will lmao. I mean… he’s been dead for many years. And he wrote a prominent anti war song in the 80’s with ‘Gruppa Krovi’ in the band Kino. But, since the Cardiff Philharmonic recently cancelled Tchaikovsky performances… they probably will. All the while being totally obvious to the irony.

Would you prefer countries to take more serious steps and the third world war has started or would you prefer them to turn around and not notice what Russia is doing in Ukraine? Sanctions and turning away from all what is Russian did not come overnight, and is bigger with each passing day. In my opinion, canceling a boy's concert is a better step than starting WW3 or pretending nothing is happening. Maybe some people in Russia will ask why kid's concert was canceled. Do you have any other idea? So far, no sanctions help.

Being xenophobic towards them will turn them anti-American and anti-western apart from already being anti-Putin. Canceling concerts and terminating cultural exchanges is a leverage move because as powerful as any one man may be, however effectively engineered his design to conceal the truth from the Russian people, or how skillfully he employs agitprop, Putin isn't in Ukraine at all, much less alone, killing pregnant mothers. Is it fair to the artists? No, it is not. Might it be another indication to Russians that they are becoming more isolated as opposed to better integrated, the world over? I dunno...let's give it a shot and see if it works.

Thats a pretty big conspiracy to believe in. Short of actually going to Ukraine and seeing the illegal invasion, war and atrocities for yourself, we are reliant, to a large degree, on what journalists report to us. Brent Renaud paid with his life yesterday doing just that. My daughter is taught by a Ukrainian teacher, who is in contact with her family, back in Ukraine, she and her family are under no illusions about who has done what to who.
