    thanks for uploading, nice and calm video. very clear instructions. no annoying music. I rebuild motocross engines myself, they are very similar to this engine.

    Hi could you tell me if a gen 2 inlet cam will fit straight into gen1 with no problems ? If so what valve clearances ? Gen 1 or gen 2 ? Thanks

    Sorry Man to disturbed you ,got a question how do you remove 5e gear tryde everething in the manuaal they say,set the output shaft in vertical position holding the 3e gear.Spin the5th gear quickly and pull it off upward, no way its coming off Please what to do (Help)

    • @everydayirace
      @everydayirace  2 роки тому

      That's exactly how I pulled it off, there are 3 ball bearings that you have to move towards outside, you have to twist it really quickly, it took me more than few tries.

    So, how much did it run you to get the engine bored to a new diameter. Im assuming thats what you did to put in forged heads n what not. I recently lost a piston in my engine a week ago and if the damage is as bad as I think this presents the opportunity to do a rebuild. If you have that info that'd be appreciated.

      Companies make pistons for just about any engine, you can also spec your own piston design if you have the knowledge or have the time to google for correct information.

    Love your video series on building the zx motor. I'm currently undergoing a similar project on an 06 zx10r. Can you tell me where you purchased your crank timing sprocket? I can't seem to find one anywhere. Thanks in advance

    • @2792revs
      @2792revs 5 років тому

      Thanks for replying. On another note. I have noticed the detent pin that resides in the bearing on transmission end that is opposite of sprocket end. That detent is flush inside the bearing surface. Is this a problem? Or something to overlook? Once again, great videos. I know how much work it took to record and document each step! Thank you for what you've provided here.

    • @everydayirace
      @everydayirace  5 років тому

      @@2792revs I am not 100% sure what part you're talking about, can you mark it on the video with a time stamp so I can see it?

    • @2792revs
      @2792revs 5 років тому

      At 21:08 you mention "this hole should be facing up". That's the part I'm talking about. I understand that bearing has a hole that lines up with a pin. That particular pin on my engine case is flush. Meaning it's not going to enter that hole in the bearing.

    • @everydayirace
      @everydayirace  5 років тому +1

      @@2792revs that hole goes in the pin that's in the case, that's what keeps the bearing from spinning and keeps the bearing from moving up and down. It's a pretty important part.

    • @everydayirace
      @everydayirace  5 років тому

      Sounds like last time someone worked on it they didn't put bearing race correctly and bolted cases together, so the race pressed the pin in the cases.
