Fantastic 😜 lots of new pictures for me on there if my favourite subject👍🏼 day-cabbed Seddons, Fodens, Atkinsons and even a Scania. Proper hardcore. Respect to those guys. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼👍🏼🏴
Wow another fine collection of mid east pics.some unusual trucks there.scammells aec and fodens i didnt expect to see on the mid east run but then why not? A great time in trucking...wish i was there.
11.13 mins Baileys of Westbury, Wilts. Worked for them briefly 1979-1980 on UK haulage from their Rochdale depot. I remember the arguments for the Scammell Crusaders because they had sleeper cabs, most others were boards across the engine cover! A guy known as talking horse (his real name eludes me) got one of them. Thanks for sharing these photos.
The Middle East boys. It must have been a experience in its own right. They had my up most respect. The trucks of all makes were great. I know of a few of these drivers. They are retired and can tell a good tail or two.
I spent many an evening in my dads yard listening to ex Middle East drivers telling their stories of there adventures on the Middle East runs. Some true some not so but either way the main sub was how they loved the Volvo F88
@ 1.46 Gav Smith looking a bit suspicious.( and hairy )@ 2.37 Nick Bull's 142, ( met him and Dave Mackie a few times heading south in Kaz), @3.40 The Skud, @4.08 SASA out of Ankara Turkey, They were a tyre company, had about 26 Kenworth K 100's, all different colours @ 641 Gav Smith's 141 longline, ended its day's on fire. @ 9 32 Rynart Trading, that's Kaz not Middle East. Looks like Tom's Magnum behind it. @12.05 there's quite a story about the DORF.@ 13.09 used to get the train if you couldn't get permits. Quite a few of Chris Hoopers trucks in there as well.. U K Middle East in a Ford D series, that's hard core. Saying that the Iranians used to come up to Nottingham in those 1940's Mack day cabs.

Would some of the day cabs have been driven out to be sold for local work?
