Valve Lash Adjustment Yamaha CP3 Engine (FZ09/MT09/Tracer 900)

Spin the intake cam gear forward by using a 10mm socket n wrench, while simultaneously spinning exhaust cam gear backward by using a #2 Philips screw driver (by prying against chassis). Then mate the marks you made on gears with marks on chain and you'll be solid. This is a one man job but having another hand wont hurt. make sure all your timing marks are lined up once you engage the timing chain tensioner. then spin the engine one full revolution (counter clockwise) and all your marks should line up. spin engine once more to be sure chain doesnt skip. then check your new valve clearances before reassembly. ensure you push the coil packs all the way down so that they contact spark plug completely (audible click if corrosion is present)
