random tip: UE4 removes deleted objects at a fixed rate, and not immediately, available So adding too many objects, even if they’re deleted, can tank your pc. So it’s good to avoid constantly deleting and spawning actors.
I don't know a lot about UE4 but isn't there some kind of "free()" statement to instantly delete the object and free the memory currently being used by it or something?
This actually applies to Unity as well. I’m not sure if unreal has a garbage collector but allocating and deallocating memory is pretty expensive. Best to reuse objects or teleport them if not static or the player for the illusion of endlessness.
This makes sense when you watch games out of bounds or boundary breaking. The asset is usually hidden from sight under the map, but then warped in when needed and warped out when not needed. Always thought it was kind of cool to see and it makes sense why they do it from reading what you guys have written.
As a former dev, thank you. We spend more time troubleshooting and fixing bugs in "finished" games than people think the entire development time takes from scratch, haha
for me it gave the opposite realisation and showed how easy it is to make a simple indie game and I have less respect for what's being put out in the market considering what this guy ws able to achieve in very short time with minimal effort

As a former dev, thank you. We spend more time troubleshooting and fixing bugs in "finished" games than people think the entire development time takes from scratch, haha
for me it gave the opposite realisation and showed how easy it is to make a simple indie game and I have less respect for what's being put out in the market considering what this guy ws able to achieve in very short time with minimal effort
