Gone but not forgotten
When they re-record the lines of an NPC, it's usually because said NPC is making a new appearance and they couldn't have the previous actor to reprise their role. So my guess is Stuga will likely make a come back further down the line.
Which means we might be seeing some orcs in 2024.

Stuga's old voice line was a snippet from another NPC who said more. Copy Pasta, but with voice overs.

Makes sense. He actually plays the game so he has better insight to these changes the devs arbitrarily make.
When do the devs actually create useful sets. They either go overpowered like pillar of nirn, or just total crap. What really needs to happen is changing/updating current and old sets to make them more in line with other sets.
I'm super excited for the necro class set! I'm hyped to try out new corpse-user builds, I've long since burned out on blastbones being mandatory in every. single. rotation.

I would love to see sets that changes the behaviors of skills or more morphs per skill. Example, a set for the vampire skill line, Eviscerate can make attack on area (cone), making less base damage. I don’t know, just an idea, but most likely makes things harder to balance 😢
The class sets from the Archive should have been made stronger, and be more in line with the uniqueness of arena weapons, for example. As they are now, I feel like people will collect them just to fill their stickerbooks, but no one will be particularly excited to use them (except for DKs, which is honestly the one class that didn't really need any more love from zos). If the sets were better it would help with the replayability of the content as well... but maybe they will revise them in the future. Regardless of the rewards, I'm looking forward to the archive the most because it's been a while since we had an arena type of activity, and it looks super fun, especially theorycrafting synergistic builds for two people runs. It was also super cool of zos to release it for free. Thank you for the video Skinny, as always you summarize everything really comprehensively, and I appreciate all the effort you put into your editing!

Dk sounds amazing :) It's just made for me actually. I like seeing dk ultimates and I was running drake's rush and heroic strike for both ult regen buffs.

I really like that the buffed all the class sets. I think the necro set is in a decent spot now, but comparing 12% damage mitigation to 30% from being a stage 3 vampire is sad, but I think that is more so an observation of how over-tuned Undeath passive is (and has been for years).

They hardly buffed them at all. All of them except for DK are terrible.
@@FlashesSoccer011 depends on what you’re trying to use them for. I would say sorc, Templar, and nightblade are all decent now in the right set up. Warden might actually be a little more than decent for certain PvP healer builds.

The DK is the only redeemable one.
The passive is strong, however I feel the sustain and other detrimental effects that come with stage 3 make it reasonable tbh

Ty Skinny as usual well done n appreciated. I yet to try the dungeon, but I'm already disappointed for a few reasons. Firstly, the concept of class sets is an amazing idea, but what they came up with is horrible. It seems the gap between the DK set and the warden set is miles long. I wish they amped up all the sets and made them exclusively for the endless dungeon. Secondly, for people who want the DK gear for drops they are forced to play a DK; I hear you can buy pieces with currency but that defeats the purpose.... the people I plan to run with, I am the hybrid tank/heals/buffs etc and playing a DK (farming gear) im forced to back bar a healing staff; I am not one to port in port out use armory and porting back in. Last thing, I feel the thing you can buy with the new currency is lacking for a premiere. Maybe I am expecting too much, dunno.. I know in time they will add things, tweak things, but to start off in my opinion it's like cutting a birthday cake and finding a hair on your slice. Ty again for the time and post...
Agree completely with that last bit on the oversaturation of 5-pc sets. I have zero desire to farm any of these bc I don't see any of these being a replacement for any sets I'm already using & enjoying.

Glad to see a little bit of everything in this update. Could these be the last sets in the game? The start of updating the existing ones or/and set cleanup is really needed.
True...years ago I've been saying how Devs just killed this game the moment they come up with this 'sets' idea, it's been obvious back then, but they haven't done anything after all this years, they don't want to change anything that big, sadly. So many bad descisions in almost every way, like engine, itemization, classes, gear\art design, sad, so much potential wasted, still want to believe that this game will change, but despite Endless Archive it really feels like Devs just gave up, lost all enthusiasm. Sry for being negative, but from my experience it is what it is, truth.
the necromancer set might be the one that i try to get since it makes the class less useless
I just want ZOS to fix the little annoying things that have annoyed us for years like big flappy bird wings or not being able to cast an ability without a delay cause our weapons are sheathed.

So did the Soul Cleaver 5th piece end up not having any affect on soul tether or does it get the dmg/heal buff also?
does the arcanist's Reawakened Hierophant Set effects work on yourself, or only allies?
Talking about the DK set. Healing buffs on the back bar don't continue on the front bar. When you go to the front bar you lose that heal bonus if you swap to front bar during a HOT. The only time the healing bonus works is when you're on that bar.
Right. I was talking about if you have the set only active on your backbar. Not always active.

You should make a video on which companion and what skills you would take to endless archive and what benefits. Obviously Two players would get you the furthest but it would make a good video for those who just like playing solo 👍🏽
They should add some more one for tank one for dps one for heals
Does the arcanist set have you all 3 while at 3 crux or just the 3 crux buff? My tank rarely burns all of them so it would be strong to hold 3 for a team buff at all times

My issues are the class sets, the DKs always get favored but the other classes get penalties for some reason.. I don't get the balance there.
The necromancer one doesn't offer anything the necromancer can't already do and doesn't bring anything. Ew to the necromancer to even bother using it. Unlike skill line sets that create amazing bonuses.
This change utilizes a feature already in the game but keeps to the strategic theme of the necromancer play style.
Nobility in Decay
(2 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
(3 items) Adds 4% Healing Taken
(4 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
(5 items) Casting a corpse consumer ability grants you Beautiful Corpse giving you, Minor Protection, and Minor Resolve for 16 seconds, reducing your damage taken by 5% and increasing your Armor by 2974. This can occur once every 20 seconds, and is reduced by 2 seconds for each slotted Bone Tyrant ability.
When casting a corpse consumer ability, the bone shards will grow over each consumed corpse, creating a 6m shadowy mist. And when someone stands in that mist's radius, it explodes for 20x your current ultimate once every 20 seconds.
(Does not consume ultimate.)
I feel all class sets should focus on the play style of the class. Especially the night blade one as well. The wording could also be better.
Its a solid update. I just wanted more combat adjustments to long standing issues

I moved from PS/NA to PC/NA and it was the best choice ever.
I'm on PS4 I'd rather wait and get the best version of update 40 than a broken version of update 40 with glitches

I tried PC/NA and the economy was trash, and starting completely over from scratch just for add-ons wasn’t worth it for me.
What is the arcanist setup used at the end of the video?
pretty typical velothi/ansuul/deadly. i had moved to charged/charged instead of nirn/charged to take advantage of the status effect dmg increase
How's the difficulty compared to existing solo content like arenas? Im just interested in the furniture tbh, hope its not too hard
Just depends how far you go. The early arcs 1 and 2 are like normal difficulty

but doing the first Ark with a Companion on is okay and easy ^^ the daily is doable
not a fan of the Nightblade set. they should have done it based on the assassins skill line in my opinion. Would make it really viable even with the negative effect for PVP and PVE

Heroism doesn’t work out of combat. You’ll have it but it doesn’t do anything

i mean sure the grand crafter stations are great. but BoP means its useless to help my guild get them.
I feel like they should have put way more effort into how each class set actually looks. As is they just look like some normal boring armour and I really don't feel a need to put in the time to get any of them, but if they looked super cool and really exemplified each class then I would probably get them all just for the outfits.

Kinda sucks that instead of buffing Northern Storm they nerfed Permafrost which is stupid imo. Doesn't change much tho since the bear will always be superior for pve and snare is very powerful for pvp. If they want to make people use Northern Frost be used more, they should make it add crit damage and crit chance alongside the damage for it to be at least be viable to pve.
Feels like the whole point of class sets is to give each class more of an identity, rather than having literally everyone run the same set. Yet the only "good" set is for DKs in PvP, i.e. the current reigning S tier class lol. Guess we can only hope that future sets are better and change the PvP and PvE meta.

i was so excited for endless archive, but the sets being so.. lack luster really doesn't give you a reason to go into the thing.

kinda feels like the more they chnage wardent the more they are forcing it into an ice magic playstyle only. i see why they nerfed pema but at the same time only getting that bonus when wielding an ice staff really just shot the class in the foot for me.

I've thought about it, and as a Nightblade main, I think I hate the Nightblade class set. The current version of it completely throws away the original idea for the set as well, but even that idea wasn't great. I like that they looked at the Nightblade and thought "What's a unique strength the Nightblade has that we can base a class set for them around?" and settled on their Ultimate generation and low-cost ults as an aspect to look at. I don't like that they took that and decided that they should take that unique strength and weaken it on a set that gives a super boring flat number bonus that isn't strong enough to justify a downside in the first place.
Why not focus on emphasizing that unique aspect of the Nightblade rather than dampening it. Why not make it a set where you just gain 1 ultimate whenever you cast a Siphoning, or even Assassination skill? Would that be maybe a little too powerful if Nightblades are firing off Incapacitating Strikes even more often? Maybe, I dunno. Would it also be largely just a number bonus and not a cool unique proc or visual or anything? I suppose. Would it help distinguish the Nightblade's unique playstyle and encourage players to lean into it more to get a much more different gameplay experience playing Nightblade than any other class? Absolutely, at least a little bit.
People actually complained about and npc trying to give them a quest. I'm starting to hate this game. The constant changes to sets and abilities. I have to re learn the game every time I take a break.
I don't know...I feel like they really need to do something truly different to spice the game up. I'm already getting burnt out after returning for only 2 days because it just feels like more of the same. I wish they would give classes and weapon skill lines more abilities to play with or add new morphs to abilities that change the abilities damage type and functionality to create more functional builds and make more sets in the game usable and competitive for all roles. It really sucks being restricted to the same 2-3 tank sets, 2-3 healer sets and 2-3 dps sets with all the other sets in the game being unusable. I also wish they would do something to make all of the weapon types usable instead of just daggers front bar and bow or 2h back bar. Everything just feels so samey, stale and boring even with the new content.

Atunable stations? You mean the countless hours someone spent trying to obtain all the crafting tables was completely wasted. Every new set is made and nerfed before it's even released with a penalty. Never mind if it's already useless.
I don't even bother swapping builds and deleting what I have for 5-10% gain, it's pretty safe now to be more than enough performance without falling for this ongoing trap or redoing everything.

They fuck nightblades on every update. Even with the buffs from u39 stamblade is still weak in pvp...we need the movement speed on surprise attack to bring us in line with magblades....I have no interest in playing til that's fixed....also the light attack Nerf from Last year is still felt heavily. RiP eso.
They should being back light and heavy attack sets to pvp. Those sets provided much needed damage for PVP.

Even with them [seemingly] refusing to give the same love to Socr as the other classes, it will remain my main & favorite class. No offense to the Arcanist but no. Sorc will always be king for me.

Theyre never gonna make the sorc set better they hate sorcs and want you to move to arcanist because it's the same class but they made the skills be what they've slowly been taking from sorc and you have to pay for arcanist.
Typical. The only 3 classes I play get the worst sets. Temp, sorc and nb.. Though tbh none of those sets seem even remotely appealling except maybe dk but meh. There's better crafted sets in all weights and for all classes. Just seems like a bit of a waste of development time coming up with a set for every class that 99.9% of people are never gonna use. I'd rather have a new skill line for each class 'cause using the same abilities after all this time is getting stale af. Seriously, minus a set change here and there and putting personal preference aside, builds are damn near the exact same as they were years ago. New skill lines or a new morph for every class skill would have been awesome.

@@feralhuntgaming I meant buffs like Major Prophecy and not a buff in general. Sorc dont have access to Major Prophecy/Savagery and with a Pet Build 4 out of 10 Skill slots are for your pets, 5 if you count Prey within. Other classes get more and more access to buffs from their backbar which give them more freedom. And give the other classes more freedom with their skill management, while Sorc is still forced to Pets is an indirect nerf. Again I am not asking for more dmg but for more opportunities, ZoS promised to make non Pet builds stronger. They do babysteps and say "here be satisfied" Minor Force on Dark Deal is a joke, Bound Armaments is ok but still weaker as the Nightblade Skill...
@@feralhuntgaming wtf are you talking about? NB has the most broken burst and they can do it from stealth, other classes are much more tanky/better healing. Why wouldn't sorcs be complaining? Streak is not good enough to compete with the other classes. Sorc healing still does not scale with damage like all the other classes, our healing is tied to a pet that has to be re-summoned if killed.
I scammed 7mil gold on Xbox last weeks. And transferred to my main account.
So basically I'm gonna get royally screwed by Update 40. I only have a sorcerer and a warden, and they are both getting nerfed to hell. The Pillar of Nirn nerf is particularly infuriating. I ground SO hard that stupid dungeon to get all the set pieces I needed. Now that I'm finally happy with my build they're gonna nerf it. SO MUCH BS.
And this is why focusing and grinding meta sets isnt exactly the best call. One google search and you can see pillar of nirn in 90% of dps builds, which definitely isnt healthy for the game. Devs can either nerf the meta or try to buff a bunch of sets to balance it and they chose the easy route
I guess no one listens. Pillar of nirn is still great and gonna be best for a ton of builds still

This is the issue with ZOS’ “everything is current” approach to content: they’ve made it extremely hard to create exciting sets and experiment because they’re also concerned with making sure past content sets stay relevant.
It blew me away as a wow player coming to ESO, the fact that every single dungeon ever released is part of the endgame random rotation is extremely intimidating, and it makes farming for dungeon gear difficult. I’m used to remembering the mechanics for 6-8 dungeons at once, and being able to get gear upgrades from most of them at any time. In ESO you need to remember so much more, and you’re always looking to get set bonuses, so most of the crap you get will be useless to you. (Also wow dungeon loot pools were like, 4-6 item pieces per boss)
God I miss the old wow days. I appreciate the world of ESO, but I hate almost every design decision ZOS has come out with.

Tell these eso bum devs
1. More housing slots for Christ sake
2. Economy is gone get it back
3. Make teleporting a shield while it’s in progress sick of being attacked while in progress
4. Make trials easier to group up
5. No Gifting is horrible
6. Make trial gear have better stats or Uber drops like Diablo does
7. Remaster the graphics again
8. Make fishing more rewarding
9. Add more storage chest
10. Make a exp scroll in store that lets u skip to your actual cp but only if u have done it at least once to unlock it
11. Make dragons more rewarding
Why would the EA sets be any good lol. EA is base game and everyone shld know by now tht BiS gear is usually locked behind a paywall (DLC or chapter). Surely ESO players cant be this stupid lol. (Especially Sorc mains😅)
The voice actress for Stuga probably changed because some Zenitard tried flirting with her, so she sued the whole company and settled the dispute privately. That’s the only logical explanation.
the ingame ernables in this game have become.really bad know titles dont do anything personality or skin is much better.
I know this isn’t a pvp channel but all these sets are bull shit EXCEPT dks which is bullshit seeing how dk is already the strongest pvp class so why not just give them a new best in slot set smh

So we still go on with these Lore unfriendly Jabs on Templar, looks ridicilous and feels awkward..
