For beginners: Gearing at least while levelling to 50 is pretty simple. You can just keep your green +6 gear. Then you can look at blue gear. Also don't forget you can transfer levels later on in the game. This includes levels on skills, passives and gear.

I did not understand this and already rolled a bunch of my blue gear into purples. Like 5 purples. Very painful when I should have sold those on the market and just maxed our my blues. Oh well. F2P as well.
you don't need same item to upgrade the trait, you only need the same trait from any item to upgrade it.
however to unlock new traits you would need same item
U can use the armor trait on weapons? What about a blue weapon trait on an epic weapon? Not sure how it works.
@@vincentramirez6967 i don't think it works like that: u can use different armor pieces tho (ex: you can use trait from a ring for a chest piece). You cant combine weapons with armor

Pay2Win in this game is the worst (in a good way) Pay2Win system I have ever seen. It's more like ''Pay to save a few days of grinding'' than it is actual Pay2Win - and compared to other MMO's, everything, including gear, takes VERY, VERY, VERY short time to obtain/upgrade so it essentially makes no sense to Pay2Win in this game - unless you REALLY, REALLY don't have time to play the game. Even people who play 2-3 hours a day can get everything on the character MAXed out and BiS, in a super short amount of time compared to other MMO's like WoW, FFXIV, BDO, GW2, LA, ESO and so on... So it literally makes no sense to waste money on this game, unless you have no time to play or unless you want to buy all the cosmetics.
Yeah, when the devs said they shortened the grind coming out of beta tests, they REALLY shortened it. Shortest grind for bis in any mmo I have ever seen
@@musicaltarrasque Getting bis is nothing. Getting bis fully traited is the grind. And reality is most ppl don't have the knowledge from time playing in korean servers of what gear/traits will sell well early on auction to make lots of lucent fast. Shit, I assume some people won't even find out how to extract traits/litographs early enough. And getting fully traited without auction does not sound like possibility before 2030. Sure, some content creators will make guides of how to make lucent, showing which items sell (sold) well, but they will do it after all the whales have done their shopping and the prices of early gear have dropped significantly.
You earn the premium currency easily through the auction house though, deffo no pay 2 win as you can earn it all easy.
I have epics on pretty much every slot and I am free to play been playing since the global release. It definitely is super fast to get the gear you need. The traits are obviously where the "pay to win" part comes in, but traits are totally optional for PVE content since it is very easy, so the only reason ever to pay to win would be to be stronger in PVP, which I am not sure is exactly worth it unless you just want to dunk on people that have no chance against you, or if you don't want to get dunked on. I have not done much PVP so I am not sure how much of a difference a fully traited-out character is going to have compared to a character with good gear but bad traits, it doesnt seem like you would get in 1v1's that often in this game so I am not sure it is the biggest deal. Maybe in the guild battles if you have 70 whales against 70 broke boys, the difference would be noticeable.

A lot of people work and have don't have the time to sit at a computer for 12 hours a day like most gamers. They pay with the money they earned to keep up with you guys

Theres a difference between grinding in Mmos And actually acomplishing something through hard content.. a lot of the Mmo Grind Feels braindead, easy And Its really bad if Ur forcing urself to do it not even liking the content.. thats why id rather pay And can't play WoW for example cause lot of the 'content' Is just annoying Grind with trash gameplay and u Have to do it lot of times

I used to play Mobile Gacha games like Idle Heroes, RAID, AFK Arena, LOTR Rise to War, Forsaken World, Soul Lands.
And I was burning $5000-15,000 a month on the game.
Spent around $300,000 over 3-4 years before I quit Mobile gaming.
Now I'm playing WoW, and I'm spending maybe $200 a week for my Mythic+10 and 8/8 HC VIP + a bit of gold
And It feels like It's F2P compared to what I used to spend.

Just play the game, be decent and progress into heroic with a guild (playing and progressing with a guild will be more enjoyable anyways) wow I just saved him $200 a week. fucking insane to me, I prefer not to give blizzard more money, I can farm my wow token in a few hours, pays for my sub and only give them cash for expansions every few years.

i have a weird mix of tab target and action. took me a week to figure out what i like. i didn't actually expect to like this game at al. but i kinda do now.
the combat and targeting is just off and for a pvp game it has to be on the ball for me.

And then you learn about open world boss weapons which are BiS. They can be completly gatekeeped by big pvp alliances. Youll never get one. They cost up to 1200$ in KR.
The game seems fun to play casually but I would never want to take it seriously and chase bis gear it seems like it would be hell.
Youd think in 2024 the games wouldnt look so shitty but here we are.
actually p2p players can par on p2w player. you just need to sell good extract traits for lucent and use the lucent to buy your traits for you blue weapons,. but of course, to do that you ahve to spend your resources smartly.
I mean, it is not really worth leveling blues, 1 week of farming dungeons/events and you get soo much epic loot.
Just farm abyss, contracts, and dungeons

I mean after you complete your build qith blues you should be confident with all the content of the game while slowly progressing to your purple sets.
@@hyped.g3294 ok, but the effort and/or money, that you are putting into blues, would be better allocated towards epics. There is no content that you need such an optimized blue gear set to beat. Level fifty, base traits green gear can clear everything in the game, especially with a party.
"mid-game gear" doesn't make sense, just go straight into endgame gear farming

The game is undeniably p2w, but the end game content avaliable so far is very easy anyway and with enough effort anybody can get their bis. What annoys me the most though is the clunkiness of the combat, controls and character movement. Hopefully they will get improved with time (cope)

He cant buy that gear if no one is selling it. An f2p player may have a newer item first, since an f2p player is more likely to equip the first loot and sell dupes

Time/money always trumps skill in east MMOs.. also they never do pvp very well tbh like how wow did in the past, and their pve is also generally worse as well when it comes to raids/dungeons etc. all east MMOs know how to do is make a long leveling/gearing system to keep ppl in the loop or spending tons of money to not fall behind. I have played countless MMOs from east and west, western mmos always are better ngl. western does pve and pvp better and is less p2w always.
@@malte4984 not really you can beat players with pure skill quite easily. Especially with less gear. In KR a lot of top players are free to play even with one of the top guilds only consisting of free to play players.
I'll say it, no game does mass pvp better than NC and this is just a fact. Siege in lineage, mass pvp in GW n Aion, BnS with literally the best arena pvp ive ever seen in an mmo, no game company has more experience with pvp than NC.

2:00 you can just click you item in your inventory and click "trait list" and it pops up a screen showing the traits that go on that item and you can even instantly search that trait from that screen.
6:05 brother you can click on any item and click "how to aquire" and it tells you ever mob you get the item from. Jesus christ.

as someone who played lots of mmos throughout my life, I feel like most of criticism behind p2w of TL is a little bit biased just because it is a korean mmo. I really don't see how P2W in this game is that different to game like WOW where u can rmt with wow token and buy mythic gear on AH. It feels exactly the same to me. I think the reason why it feels more grindy is because most games, u get stronger through what type of gear you have. if you loot a better gear, u work towards better one than that and grind dungeons and raids to do so. but in this game, the number of gears are quite limited to the point where most players will get the best gear relatively quickly but you grind the mats to upgrade that gear. its essentially the same thing but the fact that you dont constantly change into new gear makes it feel like the grind is very slow and tedious.
This is a free game without any subscription and you can buy battle pass with lucent and F2P players can get lucent by selling things in AH. When p2w players swipe, they dont swipe to the devs directly, but they pay the other players so the money circulates which is very different to other p2w games out there where you basically just buy the things from the devs

I just been filling out the lithographys seems pretty worth to get blues quickly pre 50. Been working on getting purples then upgrading. Rather work on traits when I’m mostly purple
Work on traits early for blessings. Look into trait guides, you'll understand.
traits>purple. its a lot harder(or more expensive) to trait out a purple item compared to a blue
its significantly cheaper to trait blues, and blues with traits (even greens with traits) are better than purple without. you also will want to fully trait your blues (with anything) before you transfer them into purples in order to get blessing stacks. if you are in traited blues you are ahead of 99.9% of players right now

they made it like any other phone game out there. stacks of levels per new item per new bracket of tier levels. its a grind fest. this ndustry has no innovation. its not worth grinding for a world with no meaning. their games have no meaning to the world! whats the purpose???
Server optimized 70v70s every 3 hours and the game able to handle more than 2500 people fighting each other in one area, with 0 server lag or desync.
The large scale pvp is the name of the game, but you can't see that cause you're in love with pve games like wow or ff14 where the endgame is p2w and raiding dungeons rinse repeat

U cant separate mmorpg and grind tbh. Mindlessly killing mobs in TL is equivalent to doing same dungeon raid for months for a gear or mount in wow. The difference is in wow the weapon u r having is often upgraded to a better weapon through loot. While in this game, almost everyone will get the actual gears relatively quickly but the grind is about upgrading that specific weapon. Its not a characteristic of a phone game, its more about how traditional mmos work.

Yeah it's not p2w, until you do the math and you realize that if you want to purple-max your active and passive skills, you will need to farm mats for growth stones, for roughly a year... Ppl talk about the gear, but the reality is you can get lucky and get your BiS from a drop. And you only need to lvl up 1 or 2 weapons, where as for skills you need 12 of them at least, for 1 build and in some cases even more, if you swap skills in different situations. Talking about changing builds as f2p is out of the question. Better start new character... Another issue is that for gear you can transfer lower tier, for example a +6 purple with +9 blue transfer will get that purple to +9. You can not do that with skills. You just have to farm the mats for growth stones like crazy. Conversion rates are also bad, so if you do not get lucky on your upgrade rolls, you will need a ***** TON of growth stones for only 1 skill.........
The system is convoluted. They really should have added more ways to obtain growth stones from hunting monsters in the world. The whole idea of crafting using materials is inefficient. People dont got time for that.

Lost Ark died because of this shitty alt farming. That is just an bad mechanic tbh and you do not know how much loot the best geared guilds get, they get 50% of all loot on the server.
