    One of the best looking cars in the price range. Period!

      You right
      Mazda6, Ford fusion, and (2017-18?) xse camry are the only ones that rival it

    Everyone here bashing a Kia, have never owned one. I still drive a 2006 Spectra with 210k miles. I bought it brand new, for $15k. It came with 4 wheel discs, Bluetooth.. 10 years later it's still going strong.
    Meanwhile, my Explorer died. Replaced it with a Pathfinder and discovered the horrible reliability of Nissan America (dealer explained American Nissans are Renault's since they own a share of Nissan.)
    I bought another Kia, this time a Sorento. I fucking love it. Don't knock Kias... this is how Toyota & Honda started, look at them today.

    Nice!! I own a 2013 that I bought for my wife the SX model. It's such a fun car to drive with the 274 hp turbo you can feel the power as soon as u step on the gas. Outstanding job Kia

    I have a 2016 Optima SXL Turbo. Beautiful car! Fun, fast and luxurious. Small tip, though... Get Michelin Premier tires. Gives better handling and grip to the road. No more tire squeeling when you boot it or take a turn fast.

      I have the same model and want upgrade the tires, definitely think this could be a 6 second 0-60 car with the improved traction

    I bought a 2015 LX and I love it. Just wish it had a small block chevy motor and rear wheel drive, you know like cars are supposed to be. I want more grunt when you step on the go pedal. It makes a great family car, the first 4 door car I've ever owned. It's quiet, gets 28 mpg with me having a heavy foot, no wind noise and very quiet inside. I did dropped it 1 inch with a set of Eibach springs and upgraded the wheels to 18's with 235/45/18's and installed a bazooka in the trunk with 100 watt amp and replaced all speakers in the doors with 300 watt Kenwood speakers, also just changed the low beam headlights to LED's, soon to replace all the bulbs with LED's. I retired in 2015 so I don't drive much anymore it's only got 42k on the odo and is garaged most all the time so it still looks like new.

    I currently own a 2014 Kia Sorento but before this vehicle I owned a 2012 Optima. Both are great vehicles. No complaints from me! I will probably go with the redisigned 2017 Sorento next!

    Better than last year's. Great budget luxury car in SX/SXL trim. Stylish.

    If they put their 3.3L V6 under the hood, it would be much more of a looker for me. No V6 = No thanks. I'll stick with my 2015 V6 Camry.

    • @Bajaheat

      Why? When the kia 2.0t puts out more torque

    • @SlidTossedPissed
      @SlidTossedPissed 8 років тому +4

      +rnorred1986
      Kia and Hyundai have built their lineup on the fact that VERY few people who buy their competition cars == Accord or Camry ever buy the V6. Most stay with the 4, accounting for over 80% of sales volume.
      NOW,
      With that said... there is no reason from their prospective to have a 6cyl if few even bother to buy it.
      ALSO, when was the last time you actually PUNCHED it enough to FEEL the V6? Past 70? Past 90? Past 110?
      I doubt youd notice the difference between the 2ltr Turbo... and your Camry.

  • @counkev
    @counkev 8 років тому +3

    That amount of power and only 7.1 Sec. 0-60? The Honda Accord V6 gets a faster 0-60 and better fuel economy.

    • @aayonce4
      @aayonce4 8 років тому

      That's the upside of a properly matched V6 with impeccable engineering ! Turbo sounds fast but lose steam after max rpm have been reached.

    • @SlidTossedPissed
      @SlidTossedPissed 8 років тому

      +counkev
      Fuel economy only happens to be better.... if you YOURSELF moderate the gas pedal.
      Its not the EPA numbers, or the NHTSA, or the Mags or the OEMs that make any change in it at all.
      Fuel eco is how you drive it.. COMPLETELY.

  • @mitchlu
    @mitchlu 8 років тому +1

    by the time you step up to the "hot rod motor" in the SX, for close to that price, you can get the base Maxima S which will blow the doors off of this thing in performance, comfort and looks...(nothing like a smooth V6)

    • @9890jsp
      @9890jsp 8 років тому +4

      Nissan is at the very bottom of consumer reports... the cvt is junk, and so is the 3.5
      Nissans are rebadged Renault junk. That Kia will live much longer than that Nissan.

    • @mitchlu
      @mitchlu 8 років тому

      Know of which you speak; I had an '07 Altima 3.5SE with 170K miles with not one transmission issue (or any other unscheduled maintenace on that car). I am now the proud owner of the '16 Maxima because of it; nothing like the seemless acceleration only a CVT can provide...

    • @9890jsp
      @9890jsp 8 років тому +3

      +mitchlu use Google, and tell me how wonderful Nissans are. They rank dead last in consumer reports, because they're junk. ESPECIALLY the cvts. even motor Trend shed light on how horrible they are. I owned a Nissan myself. It was junk. I call bullshit on your nonsense, considering the internet agrees with me

    • @aayonce4
      @aayonce4 8 років тому

      Just upgrade the exhaust , and throw a turbo charger on there . And you should get close to the mid to low 6 range which is acceptable for such a big sedan

    • @oldtwins
      @oldtwins 8 років тому +2

      +Paultwice22 you have to look at trap speed. 91mph is indicative of the top end power and less reliant on traction. turbos will perform much better in cooler air too. This car is just slow...

    • @kirbyswarp

      +oldtwins i mean for traction on the tires

    • @aayonce4
      @aayonce4 8 років тому

      +oldtwins you have to remember it's still only 2.0 liters plus the added weight of increased wheel base., more technology (automatic braking) causes more weight to be added., however I believe with a V6 they will see that time drop a half second to a full second at best.

    Chevy Camaro, as large as it is, will soon offer a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder motor with slightly more horsepower and it's 0 - 60 will be about 4.5 seconds. Why can't the Optima at least be competitive with Honda and Toyota??

    • @aayonce4
