O yo respect I tried to force my dad to just watch the show and we stopped after the first episode 🫠 My friends didn’t even get thru the original videos 🥹
People whining about how this series isn't "as scary as the original", like, it got to the scares fast and hard because it was a short web series that wasn't even intended to be a series at all to begin with. Now that they got the green light to do a TV series, they have to stretch things out for a half hour run with commercials. That gives more potential for the scares to build up rather than punch you hard out of the blue. It's not that it became "less scary", it became "prolonged for run time and atmosphere", and honestly, the story building is better in this format imo. They can add so much to hint at what exactly is going on in this universe, whether or not you came in new or from the og web series, it catches your attention all the same. Tl;dr. It's just as creepy as the original, but just needs to stretch out the atmosphere and story in order to achieve said scare.
