Nice shop Johnny & beautiful bowl. I've been turning bowls for a couple of years and I have never been that good. I really enjoyed the story behind your inspiration to take the bull by the horns, so to speak. I'm 71 yrs. old & been a safecracker & locksmith fo 43 yrs. I'm ready for a new adventure. By the way Ashley, your expertise at the lathe is amazing & you've never looked more lovely.
Awesome to see and hear how people get into this line of work. Great to see people doing what they love. So nice of you Ashley to pass on your knowledge and expertise!
Gosh Ashley, listening to you in the video? I could lay down and just listen to your voice and relax. Ty for the video and thank you Johnny. Will check out your channels.
Ashley another outstanding video I would like to give a shout out to Justin Marie your videographer as he does a fantastic job. While you are the lead in the video Justin puts its all together and I could not compliment him enough. I watch a lot of videos and yours are by far the best I have seen. I would like to ask one question, while I have read a lot about the CBN wheels and the different grits. I was wondering if you would maybe do a video on the different grits, what they are best used for and the different jigs that work with them. I know you are not totally technical on the matter but I am sure a sponsor would be willing to help you out. Thank you for all you do for the community you are a very bright star in the woodworking and turning community.. All the best.
When I see shops like this owned by a young guy it makes me wish I could go back 45 years and... well, I guess the lesson is that you should do what makes you happy (as long as you can make a living) rather than what you think will make you the most money.
Thank you for posting this Ashley. I feel out on a limb in the UK and videos like this really help fuel my carpentry and turning. I would love to see a video on end grain turning for deep drinking vessels like tankards.
Ashley your not just a beautiful woman.. your a beautiful person.. An Inspiration! When I need to de-stress I watch your videos. Thank you for this channel.
Ashley, are you doing any turning classes close to Oklahoma City in the next year or so? I really want to get some good hands on training with HSS tools in a class.
Ashley, love your video productions. Questions about the grinding wheels shown in this video: What grit CBN wheel did he buy (or do you recommend)? I noticed he kept on of the aluminum oxide wheels that came with the Rikon grinder. Do you recommend keeping that or going with a different grit CBN wheel? Thanks.
The wheels that I recommend are on my website, ashleyharwood.com. The only reason you would want an aluminum oxide wheel is if you plan to grind non high-speed steel
Notice watches and rings being warren while turning. I thought that for safety it was advised not to ware anything on your arms or figures. What is your opinion??
Very nice and interesting video! Thanks. I would add that this video seemed to have more ads per time than usual. Probably not something you have control over. Wow! Lots of skipping! But again. Interesting video.
PS: Ashley, this grinder set-up is a clear KNOCK-OFF of Vicmarc's CBN sharpening system- even to the grinding rest system, even similar rest to the lathe based version vicmarc has. Which is a very good system, Please state this in the video, or at least this is a "d.i.y." setup for his own shop, not a grab of the vicmarc design.( BY the way I am not meaning this in a rude way, just that I am a naturalised Australian, so any copy rite infringement of one of our own (Queensland) products, raises my blood pressure slightly :-) ).
Thanks for coming out, Ashley! Super fun time learning how to use traditional tools.
InstaBlaster...
A good teacher has authentic enthusiasm!!
As always, Awesome Ashley Harwood. Its like seeing the Queen show you what royalty is like. She's awesome in her talent and self confidence.

I admire your passion for teaching. Even with an experienced woodworker your skills shine and you see the joy on his face.

Enjoyed that! Watched Johnny's video earlier today, and it was fun to see the different side of it.
Changing to a CBN wheel was one of the best upgrades I made to my sharpening setup.
Fun video!
Nice "King of the Hill" reference with "Propane and Propane Accessories"
Hey Ashley
Thanks for sharing. I purchased the Krazy glue, the sponsor of your last video. I like it. Thanks again for the time and effort.
LOL I remember tapping my four prong out of the headstock the first time. I did exactly the same thing. Glad to know I'm not alone.
Awesome work Ashley, thanks for sharing! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
It still amazes me how gentle and quiet your hands are when you are push cutting some rough looking blanks

Love the road shows Ashley! Keep up the great work...
Hey Ashley....What do you think of Asheville? So cool that you came up here to check out a local shop. Hope you had a safe trip back to the beach.
I used to live in Asheville...it's a cool town. Hope you had fun!
Awesome shop...beautiful bowl!
Any good shop has got those Festools, I knew when I got my first tool of theirs back in the early 2000 that they were the best the market offered
Thanks for the sharing! Asheville,NC yeah from the Beach of NC
Ashley, doing it all.
I have a very similar setup. Thanks for the videos!
Great video Ashley...
Your an incredible Woman. Very inspiring!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. Oh Yeah an incredible Craftswoman!!!!!!!! :)
Ashley who is the maker/model of the face shield that Johnny is wearing ? Thank you!!!
I was wondering if you could do a video on your PAPR respirator!
Really want to go to Asheville….
Great video. Hoping you read this one day, where did you find the Batty rest on the grinder ? Thank you.
Awesome!
Pretty envious of that shop. Unfortunately mine's roughly 20% of that size. Then again I don't have to spend 3 weeks everytime it needs cleaning :-D
Love the channel, hope to see lots more.
Enjoy your videos very well done

Ashley in Asheville, :-)
I almost read it as Ashley in Ashleyville.
Great video.
Interestingly, there is Ashleyville in Charleston, SC
What model powermatic lathe is that? I am looking at upgrading to a similar one myself.
Thanks from Oz 🇦🇺
Please put the names of channels of people you mentioned that gave you ideas. Cheers 👍😎👍

Brava veramente brava un saluto dall Italia 🇮🇹 (Portofino)......quanto ci vuole ad imparare? Buon lavoro. NJK
where can i get that grinder platform??
What store is that... Ashleyville Harwoodware?
wonderful vidoe :)

Be attentive to where your body parts are - whether you're wearing a watch or ring or not.
May I ask you for the dimensions of your shop including ceiling height?
If you’re ever in Columbus come by my shop 😅
Awesome shop, great bowl! And wow she's hot! And I love Asheville!
Very nice and interesting video! Thanks. I would add that this video seemed to have more ads per time than usual. Probably not something you have control over. Wow! Lots of skipping! But again. Interesting video.
surf and turf
Wow
Nobody wears wood chips as fetchingly as Ashley.
These tools look amazing but small tip wear ear plugs or ear ear defenders

I loved both videos. It is a shame not to know how to speak English correctly. I probably haven't understood everything 🤦🏻♂️
