I was curious about the New Jeans situation, but never really had the time to delve into it. I appreciate the insight. Looking forward to watching the girl group content.
15:59 All I can say is that even though Ppop has come a long way, it still has a long way to go. Some people's opinions may be baseless, but if we view some comments that appears hateful in a different light, we could even take from them aspects that could be improved. Nothing wrong with those since it could be used for improvement where one perhaps overlooked
just a tiny correction, if i may... Ador is not suing NJ, they went to the court to confirm that NJ's contract is still valid and standing. So, it is not against the girls, but it is against of what they think they can just do. What most ppl don't understand, and this is why labor laws don't apply to artists.... The contract between label and artist is more like a partnership. Rarely equal partners, i give you that, but still, it's not an employment contract. So, considering that, is it not normal that both partners have obligations to fulfill their part of the contract, to get profit for both parties? So, yes, get a lawyer to read thru your contract, understand what you sign up for. But if you signed it, stick to it, unless the other party does something unacceptable. I won't go into the ridiculous "reasons" NJ wants to break away, but those girls will learn the hard way what it means to be a law abiding citizen. My only sorry comes for the new, only now starting artists, who will have some extremely strict contract written to them, bc companies are learning from this whole situation. And the lesson will not favor artists :(
Hi, i am back. Good discussion, ty. I know way too much info about New Jeans, ADORE, HYBE then i wanted too, sigh. The min the former CEO attacked BTS verbally all army was involved. It is really a sad and frustrating situation. For anyone who knows art ILLIT has its own concept and it is not a copy of anyone. If you just look into them you can see the differences. The more I learn about the mess the more annoyed I get. Contrasts should change and improve but many worry that they the new ones will not benefit the artist as some hope for. Never was a fan of JYP i hope the gal wins. This was a good topic. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army💟
13:52 Absolutely right. The comment about album sales was spot on, the rest of the roast are just jokes - it's fine. The reality is for most Filipinos, while stans like crzy, they don't spend on these things. About only a fraction of a % of the population actually buys into ppop. They worry about food to be bothered to buy anything else. Ppop market in PH is so small. Same with SEA. As for SK, Japan and China, they have their own pop groups and will not (to a profitable scale) care about ppop. India has its own industry. That is why the only market for Ppop is the west.
I’m a Filipino-American and I totally get the so-called perception on Filipinos’ view of the industry specifically all the “CLAIMS”. I think it stems from people online claiming all sorts of things when they have not been outside of the country and seen what is out there in the world. The lack of knowledge and intellect and sophistication. And they are oblivious about it simply because of the lack of knowledge. It is the majority of the Philippines unfortunately because of how they have been oppressed by corrupt individuals in the government for decades now. It all goes back to how they turned the majority of the population into an ignorant society. I gotta say, even some sounds like a joke, it pained me to hear it. 😔 I hope people would be more knowledgeable and sophisticated, seriously. I can only hope. But, very insightful discussion guys. I learned some although I am well versed on how contacts & investments work. 🙌🏼
That claim applies to only one fandom, which always says such things. Anyway, I need to reply because your comment lacks knowledge. My first question is: how many years have you been in the US? Did you grow up and live there since birth? If yes, then you don’t have the right to give opinions when you don’t even know what’s happening in the mainland. Maybe you see news online, but that doesn’t reflect the whole country or what’s truly happening here. Saying that we lack knowledge and intellect because of choosing the wrong leader? By that logic, you’re being ignorant too, as that can apply to America and many other countries around the world. What you’re saying here is like an American who knows nothing about the world outside the US. For example, Americans who come here and think the Philippines is entirely dangerous, when in fact, only a few parts are. That logic applies to any country, as even the US and Latin America are statistically more dangerous than the Philippines. See how some Americans perceive the Philippines without truly understanding the country? To debunk your point: the people you accuse of lacking knowledge about the world outside are also K-pop stans who finally started supporting P-pop. They’re more knowledgeable than you think. The only ones who don’t understand are the older generation from that one fandom. However, the new generation is different-they are actively working to erase the colonial mentality instilled by the older generation in society. Actually, the music and entertainment industry in the Philippines is slowly rising again, and our economy is growing. There’s still hope in the new generation. I hope you educate yourself more about your ethnicity before giving such opinions
I've read all the facts and sifted out all the opinion. NJ is almost assuredly at fault. All accusations vs HYBE are either provably false, exposed as fabricated or unverifiable by evidence. It troubles me to hear a few content creators drawing a false equivalency. This was always Minheej's leaked plan.
Glad that Valfer already leave this Labels. Hoping that all their artist will be awaken also. This label has more only on reactions but with less actions.
Good stuff, GKD dudes. Learned a lot about the interdependence between management companies and artists. Even the ChatGPT-generated roasts about P-pop. I thought much of the jabs weren't applicable to my favorite groups, but, yeah -- as much as we should brush off the lame accusations, we should acknowledge the grains of truth that those were based on. Because it's more often our enemies (or, at least, less often our friends) who we can count on to point out our flaws. Thanks for the food for thought.
Mostly people sign a contract not understand what they signing or sign it without reading and understanding it.

Love seeing you guys
They can laugh all they want about roasting Ppop, but imagine what the jabs are when it comes to roasting Kpop. 😂😂😂

do any of your members want to break their contracts with you?
Just Valfer i guess
