The Robin Williams gets me every time. Jim, every time you break it out, for however long, it feels like he's back for just a moment. It's truly a gift.
Ooooh, I hadn't registered be that Dustin Hoffman is kind of...whiny, but he is! I so enjoy the little jolt of excitement when you suddenly dip into the resonance of someone who's been classically trained, like Iam McKellan or Colin Firth, or, from the other Shakespeare monologue, Richard Burton. The way you capture that resonance is just wonderful.
How did I miss this until now?? More of the same-old, same-old Jim Meskimen stuff: which is to say, brilliant, hilarious, and fresh. (Chico was definitely my favorite!) Thank you for sharing your voice (and others' voices) with us!
When I was younger I had to memorize this and recite it for class. The last night I had to get it down, a family friend was over the house and along with my parents trying to help me get it. He read it as Marlon Brando as Don Corleone. Ever since then, I've always thought the idea of this speech in impressions was really funny. Thanks for doing this!
what i love so so much is that you match the text to the person you are impersonating. your faces (and obviously your voices) are impeccable. I absolutely LOVE watching these videos. genius.
Wow! Glad you found my channel! Have you seen my friend Ross Marquand's Malkovich impression? It's very good. Hope you will enjoy more of my vids and thanks for the kind comment.
Jim, I haven't seen an impressionist as talented as you since I saw Rich Little live! You have such a huge repertoire, and you tackle so many celebrities no one would even think to touch! You give all of us aspiring voice actors/impressionists an example to aspire to!
Always a chance! I'm not hooked up to tour again yet. I'll be doing a show that you can watch livestream on Oct 14 and 15th! Get on my contacts list at jimmeskimen.com and I'll let you know where and how to watch!
I'm generally going to be there on the first Saturday of every month, except July. You can always check the website link on the video page. Hope to meet you there sometime in March!
This is the first time I've seen your James Gandolfini and it absolutely made my day! Even though I'm highly aware of the unbelievable extent of your talent, you sir, manage to surprise me every single time, thank you!
Jim, your stuff is just marvelous. Not only for your spot-on impressions but your truly warm spirit to entertain shines thru. I wish I could check the show out. I'm in NY
I recognize him from Tinker, Tailor. He's got such a unique face, and his voice is terrific, of course. I must study up and put him on my list. Thanks! I'm delighted you enjoyed the Shakespeare and I hope you will view more of my impressions videos, and see the Live show sometime!
@Botulizard Hey! That's great! Memorizing Shakespeare is hard, especially with the archaic, hard to find definitions for words. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
You're welcome! It's really great to get feedback from you! I'm a fan of your work and recently noticed you in a Sprint ad. It was very funny and I told all my friends about your videos.
I am a student of voice and have spent a great deal of time studying pitch, resonance, inflection, diction of sound is created and manipulated in the voice and vocal tract. Morgan Freeman's voice sits lower in resonance and has a slight "vocal fry". Aside from teaching singing, I also love to do impressions. I have been doing them since I was a kid when I started imitating my family. One of my earliest celebrity impressions was one of yours - James Mason.
Indeed the very best Robin Williams impression I've ever seen!! Well done!! Also, the John Malkovich at the beginning was terrific! Thank you for posting this :)
@kweag Yes! Look at my video "Celebrity Alphabet". I think I did him there. Or maybe on the Letterman Top Ten list... hmmm. Anyway, YES. And thank you!
I've watched several of your videos on here and you are really fantastic. Hopefully one day you'll do a show in the mid-west, my friends and I would love to come see it.
Definitely shared this on facebook and twitter. It's one thing to do impressions in different "takes" and cut it and edit them all together. That's impressive enough. What most don't realize, is that it takes GREAT skill and a true gift to pull them off LIVE and on the spot. This is why you differ from many actors and impressionists. Just watch out, Jim... I'm creeping up with my impressions! haha. Just kidding. In all honesty, you're truly brillian and I am so glad for your success!
In light of Robin William's recent death, the final bit of this brought tears to my eyes, and I'm certain that he would have been honored by your impersonation of him. Well done!
I have been enjoying your turn as the boss for Sprint and wracking my brain trying to figure out what accent the character has.. the closest I can guess is German. Seriously, though, you're brilliant. And your Robin Williams was spot on perfect!
Uncanny, all!! Oh, love love love! James Gandolfini, Napoleon Dynamite had me LOL, Chico Marx, Jimmy Carter, and OMG Colin Firth AS King George with his stutter?!?!? That is like a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma...or a turducken. You AS Colin Firth AS King George...I think my head just exploded! :-)
My channel on here is for singing. I've never really considered doing a video of my impressions. Hmm... something to think about since it does relate to use of the voice, registration, phonation, throat shaping etc. Thanks for the suggestion.
Absolutely brilliant! I especially loved Robin Williams and McKellan, terrific. Have you ever thought about voicing Alan Rickman? He's a terrific actor as well with that deep voice of his. If you could, that would be amazing! Hopefully, I'll be able to see you live one of these days. I love to see great talents live. All the best with future impressions! =)
Uncanny Robert Seigel...All of a sudden i thought i was listening to All Things considered...and Chico MArx made me laugh out loud...u keep getting better and better..love it..well played Sir!
@KatcalledHepzi I LOVE Seth! We worked together on an animated series back in NY in the 80's called "The Comic Strip"... I think he was maybe 10 years old. Precocious? Incredible. And he's become an international star and creative force, NOT a burnout. One in a million. Kudos, Seth!
The Robin Williams gets me every time. Jim, every time you break it out, for however long, it feels like he's back for just a moment. It's truly a gift.
thanks, one of my favorite actors of all time.
Thanks! Sorry to get back to you so late I'm happy you dug the Robert Seigel... I hope he will hear it sometime. Cheers!
Thanks! Just seeing your kind comment here, sorry for the delay. I'm happy you liked it! Please do see the live JIMPRESSIONS show sometime!
The robin Willams omg almost made me cry I miss him so much
Me too (:-(

So impressed by Malkovich, Clooney and Gervais. Impressions most don't even think to do, and you nailed them. Well done, sir.

Thank you for watching, Samuel, and for the very kind words!
You've clearly given this a lot of thought. thanks for the tips.

Yes!!! Awesome, Jim! How you switch from one person to another with barely a hint of a pause, it's amazing! Really enjoyed it.

Thanks! It's fun to do the great Robin Williams, and I enjoy every opportunity. Audiences love his point of view.
Always a pleasure to view you jam, Mr. Meskimen. The Hoffman made me spit-take. AND you miraculously made Shakespeare bearable to me here... - Max

You are absolutely amazing. Any chance of a live performance in Boston area?

I have done Depp's voice for some film trailers, will have to put him in one of the upcoming ones. Thanks for recommending it!

@JustCuriousDesigns Yes, I'm trying, as you see, to work in new ones and old favorites as well. Thanks for watching!
Thanks very much for the kind words, Sean! Much appreciated! I hope you can see the live JIMPRESSIONS show sometime!
@Botulizard Hey! That's great! Memorizing Shakespeare is hard, especially with the archaic, hard to find definitions for words. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you! Nice compliment!
@ZeeOdd1 Thanks! That's what I'm going for! My statistic is "Milliliters spat in delight."
Nearly spat my drink out on a few of those. Loved it!
You're welcome! It's really great to get feedback from you! I'm a fan of your work and recently noticed you in a Sprint ad. It was very funny and I told all my friends about your videos.

Sweet Jebus - you nailed that Jim Meskimen impression way in the beginning!
I just saw you in an H&R Block commercial, and I remembered you from this video I saw a few years ago. Congratulations my friend.
Jasonius Voorhesius Thanks very much for letting me know!
I've watched several of your videos on here and you are really fantastic. Hopefully one day you'll do a show in the mid-west, my friends and I would love to come see it.
@rockengod Hmmm. Okay, I'll work on it, but his register is a few steps down the basement stairs than I can make without help.
Very impressive... especially Sir Ian, George Clooney and Robin Williams

@BowlerHat Thanks very much! I am glad you liked it!
Please sir... come to New York! I can only ask so many times!
Thanks for the tips!
You do an uncanny George Clooney impression, and it's an unorthodox choice -- I've never seen anyone else do one. It floors me every time!
Jim, you're absolutely brilliant and gifted. I love your performances :)
In light of Robin William's recent death, the final bit of this brought tears to my eyes, and I'm certain that he would have been honored by your impersonation of him. Well done!
Keaton Butler I hope so. Thanks.
Wow the faces were perfect aswell
Are you kidding me with this?! You sir.... are a wizard.
I have been enjoying your turn as the boss for Sprint and wracking my brain trying to figure out what accent the character has.. the closest I can guess is German. Seriously, though, you're brilliant. And your Robin Williams was spot on perfect!

You too Jim. When are you due to perform in the UK....?

Some good new ones, Jim! Dustin Hoffman was a great surprise, as was Chico, and Robert Siegel. Good fun, all of it.
@ITicTaken Honored! Thank them for me!
Uncanny, all!! Oh, love love love! James Gandolfini, Napoleon Dynamite had me LOL, Chico Marx, Jimmy Carter, and OMG Colin Firth AS King George with his stutter?!?!? Good suggestion!
This is absolutely delightful. I can't seem to find details on the next live show. When and where will it be?
Hello Jim! Love your Sir Ian McKellen! It's spot on. Thanks for making me laugh!
Ok, I found this place by accident while looking for Malkovich impersonations. Took about 6 seconds for me to hit the subscribe button. Great stuff.
Wow, you're awesome! Good job!
@zenpiper Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! Help me spread it around?
I love your Genie good Robin Williams impression, you should play other Robin Williams roles.

You have the best Morgan Freeman impression other than Morgan Freeman!! Amazing every time!!!
