It's good to finally see one of Dolly's branded products get a favorable review! Unlike the mac and cheese LOL. But as you pointed out if there are other items that are just as good there's no point in paying the premium for these. But hopefully there will be more items like this that will be more unique and worth a try!
That sure does look like Sara Lee’s coconut cream pie without the toasted coconut on top! But the price isn’t as high. I wonder. Love your description. I think if my grocery has it on sale, I’d probably give it a whirl. Thanks so much. Enjoy!😊
My parents just had a pie that looked exactly like this one from Lidl. Same factory most likely, but theirs was made with quark. 😃 My mom decided to get it since she likes her no-bake cool whip cheesecake, but it was cheaper/easier to buy the frozen pie. (It was $5.99.) Idk what they thought of it, but I saw the empty tin in the recycling bin this morning.
I’m sure glad Kevin mentioned the tang because I don’t like a tangy cheesecake. I love the more sweet cheesecakes like from C Factory. However you said it’s not as noticeable to you so it may be worth trying. Great review
These aren’t actually Dolly’s recipes; they just used her name and face on the box. You can get many frozen pies that are cheaper and taste just as good if not better.
Yes, that reminds me of Sara Lee's lol and at least they are somewhat realistic with the serving size 🤣 but still would be 4 with me around... I bet all these pies are made in the same place...
I tried this last night, I just knew y’all would have a review for this!! Now yall keep saying “tang” me personally it tasted salty to me 😂 but I still found it to be delicious
I have a feeling Dolly wants to get her mom’s family recipes out into this world while she still has the chance to. It’s weird about the Mac n cheese. I’m gonna blame the company rather than Dolly’s recipe. (Best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had, and I grew up with many at church, is Arby’s white cheddar Mac n cheese, when they decide to occasionally bring it back. Nothing can touch it.) Instead of writing down her recipes for ConAgra, I wish Dolly would run for President. Never heard a bad word about her from anyone, and Reddit has a celebrity gossip group that exposes everyone’s flaws. She and Tom Hanks are the ones that no one had ever had a bad or snooty experience with. And Dems and Repubs both love her. And I think it’s what’s in your heart and how much you care about other that we really need in power. She can hire chiefs of staff to advise on the other stuff.
I personally do not believe these are her recipes at all. There are many ingredients used that you wouldn’t have in any kitchen. I think they paid her to use her name & image.
That box and the pie inside look identical to what is sold by me under the name Sara Lee. I’m intrigued to see if they’ve been relabeled here as well and if the price increased.
Buttermilk makes this a hard pass. I can taste it. no matter how little and I absolutely loathe it. Kevin saying he tastes that Buttermilk tang tells me I would. And the price also makes it a pass. Glad I waited for your review.
For all of the people posting that you're paying for the name and the image, this is true but sometimes the featured product is actually good. I absolutely loved Patti LaBelle's banana pudding at Walmart but I didn't love the price. But it is definitely one of the best mass-produced celebrity sponsored items I ever tried! The original famous Amos cookies were also amazing and tasted homemade but once they bought him out they had that chemical store-bought taste to them 😢 it was a shame
@@TamiDunn 7 years ago! Wow no wonder I didn't think you had tried it I haven't made it that far yet I think I've gotten to about 3 years ago on your videos so far and I found out about your Channel about a year ago. Definitely one of the best channels on UA-cam and absolutely one of the most interactive! 😊 And I am glad that you all liked that pudding as much as I did. At first I didn't think I would because there were no banana slices in it. But then I realized the banana puree brought across plenty of natural tasting banana. And the pudding was so creamy and delightful. I tried adding banana slices as well and it was good that way too! I wish it were still around
Tammy I sure wouldn’t want any Edwards pies and for a store bought cheesecake my favorite is Sara Lee Cheesecake. Their price is a lot to pay for it but I guess you buy what you like. I do have to see how I like Dolly’s Cheesecake.
@@TamiDunnI’ve never been to Cheesecake Factory, but I grew up with the Sara Lee cherry cheesecakes and they were the only rival that could tie cheese pizza as my number one food. (They also made a strawberry cheesecake which I though was about 1/10 as good. Of course, strawberry won the war as you hardly ever see cherry cheesecake any more outside of old school restaurants.)
I didn’t think the calories would be less than 400, but like you said, you get a generous slice. I’ve never had a cheesecake with buttermilk, so I’m intrigued. We always buy Edward’s. I think the price reflects that this comes with Dolly’s name. I haven’t seen this locally. I do want to try to. Great review.
I feel the same way about molasses! Looks like a delicious pie! Great review!!!
Thank you 😊

It's good, but I don't think it's worth more than Edwards or Marie Callender's.
Her brownie mix is best

It was fun to try 😀
This sounds good but not enough to tempt me into buying it. Thanks for the review.
No worries! It was a one time buy for us too 😃

Good call!
I hate buttermilk, so I guess this would not be for me. Looked good though 😊 Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you :)
Now that’s a slice! 😉😋
I really liked it

i love buttermilk
Saw these at the store the other day, they do look good.
This is actually Dolly's own created recipes. Long been available. Find it online.
If you look at the ingredients in this box mix, they are NOT the same ;)
Yes, that reminds me of Sara Lee's lol and at least they are somewhat realistic with the serving size 🤣 but still would be 4 with me around... I bet all these pies are made in the same place...
I'm positive they are all made together.

would be nice if they sold these in single serve size.
You can get Edwards in single slices and they are just as good.

I'm sure it's no different. You are paying for her face and name on the box.
Don't think so. Dolly says its made by Conagra. Sara Lee is a separate company.
Buttermilk makes this a hard pass. I can taste it. no matter how little and I absolutely loathe it. Kevin saying he tastes that Buttermilk tang tells me I would. And the price also makes it a pass. Glad I waited for your review.
Definitely! The price needs to be more competitive with other brands.

Wow Dolly is really expanding her line. I can’t keep up anymore 😮

Where in San Diego can I find it
Dolly needs to stick to her singing what she does best and stay away from the food industry. We don't need these kind of gimmicks
