    Hi Jun! Thank you for all of your content and teachings. I've studied and adopted your practices for modeling, and it's been really inspiring. I Just finished a Tamiya Toyota Celica GT-Four Item 24113. I used all of your techniques and process and it's turned out to be the best model car I've ever done. I'm really proud of it and you helped me along the way so thank you, I really love your videos and how easy you've made it for me to take my skills to the next level.

    You've got the whole 90s JDM collection now. Love the dedication to details on this like going for what I assume is the cosmoline under the chassis. Admire the commitment to the ASMR style too, if I tried that on my videos people would have to listen to my cat being annoying, the washing machine, all the bad words I say when I get frustrated, and sports on the background giving me copyright strikes, lol!

    Epic build as usual, with a perfect balance between humour and practicality.I would like to ak though - if you're starting out in the hobby and money is at a premium (like me lol) is it necessary to wetsand and polish the clear coat? Or can it be left?

      it makes a huge difference :) I waited 3 months to get everything I needed in preparation, and it was well worth it. But if your happy with the results that's all that matters. With the two tubes of polish and the sponges that Tamiya sells, goes a long way and they will last you many builds.

      Thank you very much. If you are looking to build a new car with shiny, spotless paint job then wet sanding and polishing will be an important part of process. Especially when there are imperfections such as dust, fabric or serious orange peels in the paint, wet sanding and polishing will help correct those issues. You don’t always have to use modeling specific products. There are automotive detailing products available in stores which are generally at a lower cost.(and also much larger quantities)👍

  • @IamAlpharius186
    @IamAlpharius186 Місяць тому +1

    21:13 Just wanted to say that you can also thin brush paint, similar to airbrushing. It takes multiple coats, but if you paint each layer in the same direction and thin the paint the right amount, your results will look just as good as airbrushing. This is coming from an avid Warhammer mini-painter and scale modeler.

    Excellent work (as always)😊 i only have one question. You apply the color, you sand any imperfections and the you apply the gloss coat? Or you sand the imperfections in the color and you repaint the color again before gloss coating? Thank you in advance 😊

    • @JunsMiniGarage
      @JunsMiniGarage  7 місяців тому +2

      Thank you for the question. If the paint has too much imperfections and I have to sand down a couple of coats to remove them then I would apply a couple of additional color coats before clear coating. It’s better to be safe and add extra paint layers because the paint layers from the airbrush are very thin.

    • @JunsMiniGarage
      @JunsMiniGarage  6 місяців тому

      The water slide decals are put in warm water for 20 seconds so they can be detached from the paper backing. Once they are detached by the backing paper you can use a small amount of decal solution for its application.👍

    Thanks for the vid Jun. Have a question as Im just starting on the hobby. Im still seeing sanding marks after polishing the surface with tamiya fine and finish compound. Im just using hand cloth as polishing tool is just on its way. Do i just keep going back in forth between fine and finish compound till it the sanding marks disappears?

    • @JunsMiniGarage
      @JunsMiniGarage  2 місяці тому

      Did you wet sand it before polishing it with compound? If the orange peels are too obvious then I would usually wet sand it with 4000-8000 grits before polishing. But in your case the sanding marks were probably left by polishing it too hard with the cloth. I would go back and wet sand it starting with 3000-4000 grit followed tamiya fine and finish compound. You can use Tamiya’s liquid wax to seal it which also helps fill in the tiny scratches. Hope my answers are helpful to you and happy building.👍

    Hi just a question Jun. Does TS13 Clear work on stock prepainted paint on the car body?

    • @JunsMiniGarage
      @JunsMiniGarage  6 місяців тому +1

      It should. I will just apply a coupe of thin coats before getting some wet coats just to be safe since TS13 is pretty strong stuff. But you can also just polish the body with polishing compound to get it to look shiny. The original paint usually looks pretty good.
