    I was looking for THIS for a very long time, browsing through various internet content...I'm so happy I've seen this. I thankyou in the Name of The Lord...cos I bought this keyboard specifically for Praise and Worship. Thank you.

      You nailed it.Got a Krome EX for composing, cause I am one of the old Schoolers who have to admit that a DAW is a destruction. It took me 3 Weeks to finally get how awesome the Krome is and can sound when you slowly realize what its made for and how it works....
      But with Korg now beeing the last Workstation builder with an actual usable sequencer its somehow funny that they kinda hide their (ableton-like) pattern functionality. A feature I especially was NOT looking for..but its nice to have ;-)

    Hi, Keith. Is there any way to record multiple timbres on to 1 track so that I can play a full band intro, full band verse, full band bridge, and then a full band outro to the end? The old Motif ES can record multiple voices/timbres for 1 pattern, then you can press an up arrow button to advance to pattern 2, press the press the down arrow button to return to pattern 1, then press the up arrow button 2x to get to pattern 3. Thanks for any help you can provide!

    To Brad Runyan: Being a fool is okay. If you listen carefully to your teacher and still have a problem, it's the teacher's fault, not yours. KORG manuals are the best example!!!

    I used the sequencer in RPPR on my O1W ProX for 12 tracks of recording. Then, I downloaded it to my Roland VS 1880 in stereo so I could add the gtrs/vcls/et al. This says that if I use RPPR, I CANNOT hear the other trx whilst adding to it?

    • @achamilton
      @achamilton  Місяць тому

      If you wish to hear other tracks whilst adding more - simply use the loop feature in the normal sequencer. Then you can set a loop length, hear every and add as many tracks as you want. You can always make them pattern to RPPR afterwards if you wish to.

    Great tutorial. I thought to myself: Good. I've got a good start. Now I'll try some other RPPR tutorials and learn even more. WRONG!!! There are no other tutorials on Korg KROME rppr (except a 5-year-old marginally useful Korg overview). I keep running into this one single solitary video every time I search rppr. I think I would find it easier to fly a 747 than to learn the ins and outs of this wonderful sounding but impossibly complicated (and non-intuitive) Korg keyboard. And no one teaches in bricks and mortar anymore -- which is the only way to learn -- by asking questions each time you're stumped. [ Grumble ]

    Hi, it is not possible to combine 2 patterns to 1 key as the whole idea is that everything is kept separate so you have full control. It is however possible to transpose a single pattern. In the RPPR setup tab there is a SHIFT option which acts as transpose. Each pattern can be transposed individually

    I wish you could hear the other patterns while recording... that's kinda lame. (I have the Kronos) I also wish that you could set the pattern length in an easier manner than having to go to that screen each time. (or even set it once and it remain that length until you change it again)

    I could not more agree with Brian Quass. Teaching a subject so pupils can understand the "purpose" is history. A math teacher who tells you how to replace a + b in brackets with numbers needs to tell you what "purpose" it has, not just to do it.

  • @Rogermc
    @Rogermc 5 років тому

    wow,... really?
    this is very complicated
    i used to have a yamaha that had a much better pattern sequencer
    you could just go to the next track without stopping
    and play over your previous tracks, looping, build up a song layer by layer...in a few minutes...very easy
    damn this sucks.///
    ...did they update this in newer OS versions?

    • @MattyS54
      @MattyS54 4 роки тому

      can you not just do this in the standard sequencer? loop a part and play along on another track before recording further.

    • @Rogermc
      @Rogermc 4 роки тому +1

      @@MattyS54 no, unfortunatly i haven't found a way to do it. i think (my kronos is away for repairs now:( ) you have to stop the seq to switch active recording channel,... and/or stop the seq to set a track for looping a certain amount of bars.....
      ofcourse you can play 8 bars, stop, set channel to repeat 8 bars, then go to channel 2 and record 8 or 16 bars, set those to repeat, go to channel 3,.. etc...
      but ofc i want to 'do it live' ... i want to switch to the next channel without stopping the song! can't be done!! :(
      and it's weird because it's not an uncommon way for musicians to make a song, you see a lot of these 'looper' artists on youtube...
      and i could just do that on my previous synth, a yamaha

    as you can on the Juno G [which I had prior to Kronos]

  • @bradrunyan9534

    Hi! Thanks for the great tutorial. My question is, if you create a riff that is crap, how do you delete and go back without erasing the tracks that you've "recorded" before that ones that you want to keep? I've driven myself crazy trying to find out myself how to do it. Hopefully it's an easy answer and I look like a fool, which is ok....

    • @achamilton
      @achamilton  7 років тому

      Hi not sure if this is too late a reply - we were not being notified of replies for some reason. Basically in the Pattern Edit Tab - choose the pattern you want to record, then touch the arrow in the top right corner and select Erase Pattern in the drop down menu. Make sure the Box to erase all pattern is not ticked!

    Thank you for this amazing tutorial. But how do you save your patterns ? I don't have any problems with the creations parts , but when I turn off my krome then turn it on again the patterns are gone , it's written "No assign" next to RPPR.

    • @achamilton
      @achamilton  7 років тому +1

      Hi, sorry for the late reply - patterns are all saved as part of the sequencer so you must save the song to save the patterns within it.

    how can i use the shutdown key for assigning to the C-1 to C2?

  • @emmanuelibus
    @emmanuelibus 7 років тому

    So I found out that if I change the midi channel to be the same for a group of sounds, I can layer them like I'm in combi mode. So I trigger my rppr's and play along live with my layered sounds. Problem is, the mute does not work so I have to go to the mixer to and turn down the volume for the channel to "mute" the sound. Any idea on how to mute the sound so I don't need to go to the mixer and use the slider to turn a sound off?

    • @achamilton
      @achamilton  7 років тому

      Sorry the question is not very clear. Yes you can mix MIDI channels to use multiple sounds on a single pattern but not sure what you mean by muting it?? What is it you are trying to mute? Part of a pattern? Your right hand parts?

    • @emmanuelibus
      @emmanuelibus 7 років тому

      So what i'm trying to do is play along with the rppr patterns I created with layered sounds in seq mode. I have drums on channel 1, synth on channel 2, and a piano pattern on channel 3. Channel 4 - Acoustic Piano, 5 - E. Piano, and channel 6 - Synth, I'm using to play live along with my rppr patterns.
      To layer them in SEQ mode, I put channel 4,5, and 6 output in MIDI 4. This layers sounds in SEQ mode so 4, 5, and 6 plays at the same time when I play. But when I'm playing along and want to turn off one of the sounds from my layered section (channel 4,5, or 6), say for an acoustic piano solo part of the song, the mute doesn't work. I have to go to the mixer and turn down the volume for the other channels (4 and 6) to mute/turn off the sound.

      +Lo Mang I do not have a KROME to hand but I think if you go to the RPPR screen, click the top right drop down menu you should have a get from track feature which allows you to pull your track data into a pattern.
