As much as I love this product. It has a major flaw, the tap. I have a brand new one of these and I've used it once. I set it in my fridge came back a couple hours later and it leaked coffee all over my fridge. Then today I went to make another batch and i put it in the fridge comeback 5 minutes later and its leaked all over the fridge again. The coffee that came out was amazing but its not worth the hassle and useless kitchen aid customer service.

So is the coffee a concentrate after it gets done brewing? I have a bod cold brew coffee maker ( works great ) but it says to add water after 24 hours of soaking.

Coley, yes - the Kitchenaid makes a cold-brew concentrate that you will have to dilute to drink. I hope this helps!

The problem with cold brewers with this kind of basket design is that results in a more diluted brew due to so much water being outside the basket containing the grounds. If all the water was in basket providing 100% ground saturation, you'd get a stronger brew (such as with the OXO or Toddy). On the other hand, it may also mean not having to cut it with additional water the way you do with the concentrate created by the others. The dispenser on this is nice, however. Just be aware, that all such systems are a real pain to clean up after (particularly since you shouldn't put coffee grounds down your disposal drain).

i can validate using the instruction's recommendations (poor 1000 ml of water in circular motion over grounds, wait a minute, and poor 250ml more of water) makes it very diluted. any tips from Austin would be great!
