  • This customer has an A&E 9100 awning that was stuck in the retracted position and the motor had failed. We show you how to move the awning to the extended position so the motor can be replaced. We also moved the awning fabric to different slots in the awning tube.

Hey Cameron, whatever you do, get your diploma. I know school can get in the way of pursuing that mighty dollar especially in your Senior year but trust me, get that diploma no matter what.

If you want your awning to last longer, I have a suggestion. The reason vinyl gets dry and brittle is that the oil comes out of it. And the sun is responsible for damage also. So, if your awning is dried out and maybe has shrunk in length, but some Howard’s Butcher Block Conditioner. It is made on mineral oil, bees wax, and carnauba wax. After cleaning it, you can rub it on the top, roll out a little at a time and get the whole top. Roll it back up and down a few times and leave it rolled up for a couple days. Unroll and wipe off excess wax. Will be soft and shiny.

That reminds me of a big mouse trap, if you don’t know what your doing. A bunch of tension springs and shocks. Reminds me of the first time I tried to fix the pull cord on a string trimmer, weed eater. The recoil spring shot out and I spent the rest of the day getting the Genie back in the bottle. Finally got it fixed, but what a pain. Glad to hear other industries are not immune to the parts issues. I work Commercial HVACR. Thanks for the videos.

I guess I missed the announcement that you were selling your business. Hope you get what you are looking to get. Assume that means you are "retiring"? Can't tell you how much we're gonna miss your vids, but best of luck as a man of leisure.

Did you remember to put back those two screws you took out in the beginning? Lol or did you remember when you emptied your pockets at the end of the day?

Good vid! Looks like a new motor is well over $600! Is there anything in particular that kills these motors?

Quick question. The motor on a DOmetic is connected to the plastic end cap. Can you just replace the end cap only if broken or is it one whole assembly with the motor?

Shipping is Shipping, nothing you can do about it. If folks want a hat for real , they'll pay.

  • @caburchfield1212

You must of omitted the part of fishing the spine into the 2nd channel when rotating the awning on the tube. That's the part that everyone wants to see and you skipped right over it. SMH
