  • Asking Emile Hirsch the question if he ever wants to escape the Hollywood and acting scene and live a minimal life like Chris McCandless from ‘Into the Wild’...
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) joins this week to open up on his experience with impostor syndrome in this industry, and what sort of negative and positive impacts it has had on his career. We go on to talk about his new movie Midnight in the Switchgrass along with the various characters he’s portrayed in films, such as Chris McCandless (Into the Wild) and Jay Sebring (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood). Happiness is real only when shared. Really got me. Having been quarantined for almost 30 days all by myself and felt so lonely and depressed. And when I watched Into the wild, I really was inspired by the line, the reason why I felt depressed is because not sharing feeling with others. That really is an insightful one.

He was born to play this role. This is weird for me because I hiked the JMT in 1991. Anyway, I distinctly remember when I was staying in Mammoth the name Alexander Supertramp was mentioned between a group of fellow hikers in a conversation at the bar. This young man has become a legend over the years. Needless to say the hiking community was aware of a drifter going by the name of Alexander Supertramp in the summer of 1991. I wish I could have met him. I've read the book so many times and it hits me hard as a person that loves the great outdoors. I will be hiking the Pacific Crest Trail next year at 52 years old, all 2,650 miles of it. I will think of you Alexander Supertramp. You were and always will be an inspiration to us all.
