      @@Vacuumtrru Hey Thomas,
      Thanks for watching!
Which part of the video are you referring to?
The auto-invest function with some platforms does allow for compounding on your interest payments, however, if it is taxed as income you could lose a lot of this compound effect with the tax bill every year- either through withdrawing to pay the tax bill or paying out of pocket. Vs. stocks for example, you only have to pay CGT when you sell so the growth can compound for years without having to pay tax.
Also, just to note that not all platforms have an auto-invest feature.

@@Vacuumtrru Thanks a mill, Thomas, we love to hear that.
And also appreciate the video suggestion - that's a good idea. Taxes are so important to consider especially for longer-term investments. We'll add it to the list.

Cheers Adam! Anything specifically about index funds you'd like to cover? Our ETF video covers a few aspects of index funds that might be of interest if you haven't already watched.

Guys I'm having an issue with filing my CGT, I've never done it before and today I was looking into your video on how to file for CGT, I went to setup my ROS account but for some reason in step 1 of my registration it keeps saying my registration number is incorrect or invalid and it is my PPS number which I have for everything

    • @TheLearningsReport
      @TheLearningsReport  2 роки тому +2

Hey if you want to register for ROS and are having issues, just send revenue a message via my enquiries - they'll be able to activate your registration.
Do note though that you may not need to register for ROS anymore unless your a chargeable individual. Revenue has added a 'Make a payment' button to the 'My Account' page:
1️⃣Login & scroll down to 'Payments/Repayments' on your 'My Account' page
      2️⃣Choose 'Make a payment'
3️⃣Select 'tax' and then 'capital gains tax'. You can make a payment here.
💡You only need to register for ROS if you are deemed to be a ' chargeable individual ' from a tax standpoint. A chargeable individual is someone who is 1) self-employed or 2) Has greater than €5,000 in NON-paye income (income from side hustles, renting a room, dividend/staking income, etc.)

@@rarecd7055 you need to both pay and file. You can pay in the make a payment section and then file either through a CG1 form or a Form 11 if you are a chargeable individual.

@@TheLearningsReport hey guys, when I go into my account on revenue, make a payment, tax.... then when I go to choose CGT there is no option for CGT?! There are 15 taxes listed by not CGT, did anyone come across this problem?

update, went with Mintos in the end, it was still a pain with identity conformation but is now sorted. Will start with small amounts and see how it goes from there.

      @@johnrodgers2018 hey John,
      Thanks for watching.
Did Peerberry give any reason why they declined your documentation? Would be curious to know for other viewers. I signed up with a passport card.
Glad to hear it went well with Mintos. That's what I did initially, just put in a bit of money to see how it works and then increased after a while. Its this your first P2P platform?
