I am thinking of a mini version of the iron dome around my bed. Tiny little missiles get fired when it detects mosquitoes 🦟 approaching the bed.
They have a small Laser system that they have trialed for that.

Actually a Patriot missile is far more "smarter". A patriot missile can shoot down mid range to long range missiles like scuds, but it can also lock on fighter jets and change its course live while "chasing" it depending on every move the pilot makes. An Iron Dome missile has just some data from ground about a ballistic trajectory of a non guided rocket and just goes there. Sure it can adjust a bit, but not that much. That's also why a Patriot missile cost around 3 millions USD while an Iron Dome missile cost around 80 thousands USD. But a Patriot system would never be able to shoot down tiny targets like mortar or qassam rockets, and even if it could work a little bit, the idea of throwing a 3 millions dollar spaceship to a handmade flying explosive hookah is ridiculous

It exists already but doesn't rely on radar or shoots missiles, it uses optical detection and a high intensity laser that is harmless too most things.

They should have invaded the territory long ago and unilaterally implemented a one state solution with the long term promise of citizenship to the grandchildren of the people in the territory.

I've felt it in action too. Was sleeping at a friends place near gaza and woke up to the sound of it launching and intercepting overhead. Was the most bone chilling and heart stopping thing ever. So terrifying. But thank Gd for it!! Rather that than the oncoming missile!

@@boofert.washington2499 they decide to not pursue them because they aren't going to hit populated areas. The iron dome has a 90% success rate in taking down missiles it targets. It is the definition of efficient.

Totally agree. If the Israelis have had this since 2011, I can't imagine that the US doesn't already have these stationed on the coasts and near the borders and we just don't even know they are there. I may be crazy, but I tend to believe with the amount of money the US spends on the military every year (as much as like the next 10 countries combined) the US probably has tons of crazy stuff that are a secret.
At the very least, it seems to have a better success rate than the Patriot Missile system. Of course, the Patriot Missile system isn't used often, but it's a big problem when it fails to accomplish what it was designed to do.

Lol don't give Hamas so much credit. This is not a war. Hamas is a street gang with control of a slum. Israels inability to handle this street gang is not only a sign of weakness but also cruelty. They can destroy Hamas whenever they want but sadly have realized its politically convenient to let them live while maintaining a giant open air prison of children for them to control.
@@peterisawesomeplease Israel indeed benefits from the existance of Hamas as there existance has kept the Palestinians separated and divided. Regarding the invasion, I believe that Israel tried to do that in 2014 on a smaller scale. Anyways, they did terribly and were being held as prisoners and that made israel insanely airstiking the site in the aim of killing the soldiers! Can you imagine that your state values its ego more than its loyal soldiers instead of trying to save them. And let me tell you that that incidence caused rage in the israeli community back then.
One more thing that needs emphasizing: hamas is not Palestine! And the children being killed in Gaza are not fighters in hamas and don't have any relation with any armed party. They were probably trying to think about what would their birthday gift be
@@AS-wd5br they did terrible politically. But militarily they did fine. Yes an invasion would cost the lives of soldiers. Maybe even a few thousand. But Israel's unwillingness to make that sacrifice is a show of weakness that will cost dar more lives in the long run.

If Israel while hitting from above cannot but sacrify the souls of children "used as a human shields" ( who did not consent on being killed, compared to soldiers who consented under your assumpion), how can it preserve the children's and the not associated people's lives in a face-to-face war field?
