Hi, folks! There seems to be so many people frustrated with the general player base and the quality of play these days! If you deploy poorly - aka making poor decisions in the first few minutes of a game - you will negatively impact your chance to win before the match is even hardly started! In this video, I am tackling the basics of map awareness and team deployment by highlighting five things NOT TO DO when taking your initial positions in a match - and dropping a few ideas about how you can recover from your team's mistakes. I'd love to hear your own thoughts on how you address positioning your ship in a match and what tactics work well for you! Also, if you have any thoughts or ideas for future topics you'd like to see covered drop them in the comments below!
Very good an much needed video! This should be part of a mandatory ingame tutorial. Too many players have absolutely zero idea of what they are doing. And if you try to call them back they instantly reply with "denied" via comms wheel.
Thank you for taking the time to comment - I am glad you like video! It makes the long hours of putting this content together worthwhile when you get feedback that folks are finding it valuable! I made so many of these map deployment mistakes over and over when I started out. For a new player, I think you can learn as much from hearing "what not to do," as it can be harder to explain how to deploy thoughtfully in one succinct example! Keep up the good fight with the comms wheel. It's such a good feeling when you do get a responsive teammate and a suggestion makes the difference between a horrid loss and a nice win! Granted, it's not the majority of the time, though.
I have a video where at the start I push up behind an island in my cruiser at the side I spawned on I'm shooting over the edge of the island for about 4 minutes, I look behind me and 7 out of 8 team mates are directly behind me all within 1km ish range of me
Lemming Trains are a thing, for sure. Not always an automatic loss in Standard Matches, but folks tend to turtle-up behind the cap they migrate to instead of using the numbers to push through and get around the back quickly.
Totally agree that some kind of "live" tutorial support could be really helpful. WG tried to do some actual tutorial missions in World of Tanks Console, but they were very simple and it never went much past that.

These tutorial videos from people should be built into the game and play on loading screens that way people are forced to learn the basics
