As a Baseball fan from New Zealand this is close as it gets for me to support my own team at the World classics. I'm proud of the Aussie team baseball isn't recognized enough over there what with rugby league, Cricket, rugby union, AFL, soccer and basketball. But Australia are competitive no matter what sport it is.
As a Dominican 🇩🇴 where the country plays mostly baseball and basketball with gymnastics and Rugby too, other sports. New Zealand can still qualify fot WBC but they aren't close yet. They always lose every qualifers.. Australia 🇦🇺 still can play baseball. Cricket being popular there helps make baseball more relevant and consistent there. But those guys can hit on the Aussie team

Sadly we are not very well represented at the professional or international level. Our international sevens side is at least competitive due to their speed

Unfortunately the Korean baseball league has been declining ever since 2009 WBC. The league overexpanded and overpaid to the point that there was less competition between skilled players. Even the fans noticed the lack of fighting spirit, with predictable tactics and an overload of errors. The 2013 and 2017 editions and the 2020 Olympics are the proof of this mess.

They did in Seoul last WBC in 2017 and they lost in first round because of Israel 🇮🇱 and Netherlands 🇳🇱. It was those 3 with Taiwan 🇹🇼 They might do so again. That Geocheck Skydome stadium is nice. When they hosted it there but there should be another ballparks to host in Korea for next tournament

The quality of this game was just as good as any other back and forth and the MLB level. I enjoyed it very much.
I know Korea has a few players in the MLB and maybe because of the WBC Australia will get a player at the majors.
There are at least 15 aus players right now in mlb. Hendricks for the white sox bring the most notable probably.
And you can't forget about Grant Balfour from not too long ago. He was a great bullpen arm.
