Shigaraki literally woke up, took someone out, stole their drip and made it look BETTER on himself, destroyed a city, and is now calling a giant monster to his side. Yeah, the heroes are screwed. Side note, it's a good thing X-Less destroyed that machine. If he hadn't, Shigaraki would've had a large amount of quirk destroying bullets. Now he only has a few. Which is still bad, but it could be worse. Speaking of which, imagine arranging a plan to get the jump on people and then you start losing. That's just sad. Shigaraki is just one of my favs after MVA so I'm happy. Oh. And he can control what he decays now. So that's nice.
Shigaraki just leveled almost an entire city with the most deadly game of „the floor is lava“ yet, and he managed to look incredibly stylish doing so. Poor X-Less, though, even his Cape looks better on a villain
crust's sacrifice still gives me the chills. he knew how important aizawa was in this mission and did everything he could to save him and others, even when literally dying. rip to the homie
To be honest I don’t think crust saved him because he had a useful quirk for the mission I mean that is a plus but I think he saved him cause he didn’t want to have anybody die he didn’t want his friends to die
@@alexwilliams2830 i guess so, but aizawa's quirk is arguably way more integral than crust's quirk, although both useful. any other hero couldn't even get close to shigaraki if aizawa didn't erase his quirk, since he could easily decay the person or projectiles thrown at him. a lot more people would've died if it weren't for crust's sacrifice, that's for sure
It's hard to see (compared with the manga) but in Crust's final moments he was crying knowing it was his end. But even with being scared of dying, in that moment he still tried to be like All Might and put a smile, trying to give reassurance to Eraserhead and the others.
- For the record Shigiraki lost his fingers against Re-Destro. Anime censored it so they just looked broken. And he still could use his quirk without them - Happy the dub kept the manga line "Booty incoming" - Aaron is the first reactor I've seen to remember Geten is a character - There was a scene in the manga where Shigiraki asked the doctor to try and duplicate the Quirk Erasing Bullet but it was 1 of many the anime cut out from the arc
The ominous tone this episode gave you, especially when the eerie music kicked in when deku heard the 1st user's voice as it showed everyone at the hospital, was sensational
A scene I wish they included - a small one, but still - is that when everything started crumbling, the #8 hero Wash (literal Washing Machine) actually saved a BUNCH of people by floating hospital beds up off the ground with bubbles. I forgot if it's here or in a flashback later, but it shows why Wash is #8 besides being in commercials lol
X-Less’ death went unseen in the Manga. In the manga, Shiggy woke up, said he was cold, it cuts away to Mic with Garaki, the decay wave happens, and the next time we see him, he’s there with X-Less’ cape.
Shigaraki has the original power of All for One. The doctor took All for One and made a duplicate and gave the duplicate back to All for One. Now Shigaraki has the original All for One and a bunch of other quirks as well.
Which is a very fun thing to know in hindsight since it means that back in Kamino Ward neither All For One or All Might were fighting with their actual Quirks. All might had just the embers of One For All left and All For One was using a copy of his original Quirk. It wasn't just their bodies that weren't at full strength anymore, their powers weren't either and their clash still practically leveled a city.
The Doctor actually made an even weaker copy of All for One and gave it to Nine in Heroes Rising, which takes place after the villain arc. Nine was a prototype for what he was going to do to Shigaraki.
The darts are honestly terrifying, if Xless didn t tdestroy most of them, imagine having an army of enemies with quirk nullifiers. It coudl literaly be a regime of - you either join Shigaraki and keep your quirk or as an enemy of Shigaraki lose your quirk. Its a whole another lvl of what One for all aimed for - total control.

Manga spoilers below It's damn impressive, though I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised since Eric is such a massive Star Wars fan and AFO is very much the Emperor of MHA while Shigaraki is the Darth Vader. The unrepentant evil that must be defeated, and the figure of tragedy the protagonist and his mentor have an emotional connection to. Not that I think Rick will be close-minded or anything but I do understand his views about how it'd be better if it was just Shigaraki and hope he'll try to not let it discolor the story for him like I've seen it do for some fans. The reasons why it doesn't bother me as much is because 1. I still believe Shigaraki is going to be the final boss of the series, possibly even through killing AFO and his vestige (it'd be thematically appropriate for AFO be destroyed by the monster he created, especially in contrast to All Might who decided to live for the sake of Midoriya, the hero he inspired), and 2. Shigaraki's hatred for hero society and reasons for it are still completely genuine and all his own. AFO didn't make his father abuse him, nor did he make the people on the street ignore him when he needed help. All of that is a result of the unintended consequences of Nana and All Might's actions.
I love the parallels between All Might and All For One and their successors. All Might trusts his legacy with One For All with Deku while AFO tricks Shigaraki into basically being a new body for himself, grooming him to be this vessel of hatred to finally steal One For All and to be a newer stronger body for himself promising Shigaraki he would be the Prince of Evil while he will forever stay the King
Yeah "Let's begin with everyone" caused a lot of confusion with the folks who reacted to the sub. "Bring everyone here" is much, much clearer. I think I liked Bakugo's sub dialogue better ("You just want a chocolate bun" was a funnier response) but overall the dub is really good.
The upgrade to decay isn't flat out mentioned but its shown. Basically shigaraki has more intricate and precise control over what he can decay or leave unaffected. Like with x-less's cape and also with the little plateau he left unscathed while he wiped out the surrounding area.
5:23 In the manga Shigaraki lost those fingers during the fight against ReDestro which is when everyone found out he able to use the decay quirk without those fingers. But in the anime, they censored it to the point where he didn't actually lose his fingers and were just crushed or broken like Deku, but he can use that hand to decay without all 5 fingers.
They talked about this before. Shigirakis Grandmothers (The women who gave one for all to all might) her power was levitate. So yes he will be able to "fly"
So before we get going, I’m just going to say these next few episodes are going to be me at my MOST analytical. Let’s get into it shall we? Let’s start with Shigaraki waking up. In the manga? I’m going to be honest, I REALLY appreciated the anime change. They didn’t explicitly show X-less cause Shigaraki’s awakening. They showed him look at the machine, and the moment he did, the spark conveniently woke up Shigaraki. This one was X-less trying to insure the materials that almost made Shigaraki (and then proceeded to actually make Shigaraki) never be used to make another. That is a MASSIVE improvement. Because a number of months ago I was actually looking into how the hell his heart just magically restarted and couldn’t come up with a reason why. Also demonstration of Shigaraki using decay as he pleases, he decays X-Less but not the cape. Old Shigaraki couldn’t have done that. So that’s complete nuance control of the quirk. That is some INSANE nuance from a man who does not know restraint well. Also few things I like about Shigaraki’s design, all his injuries from MVA remain. Something not made clear in the manga. He still has the charred arms from when he destroyed Deika City. And although it wasn’t shown in MVA anime, Redestro tore off Shigaraki’s fingers in the scene where he crushed his hands so he couldn’t decay anymore. (So it’s implied in anime they were just amputated later during his many surgeries and torture training after anime MVA occurred.) Respect on Tokoyami’s name for escaping Fat Gum. We saw Fat Gum shrug off blades that were building length long in season 4, we know he doesn’t care about bullets, and when Monoma explained why he can’t use stockpile quirks, they showed Fat Gum taking a MISSILE AND NOT CARING ABOUT ITS ACTIVATION LAUNCHED AT WHAT WE ASSUME IS FULL SPEED. And Tokoyami just ESCAPES him. And I hope the dub keeps the original lines of the manga of Fat Gum in this chapter. When Tokoyami escapes and Fat Gum chases him, he says “Don’t think I’ll let ya Dine and Dash on me like that!” And I LOVE that line. And when he almost gets crushed by Mount Lady’s…assets, he says “Some bun’s coming in hot!” And those are just genuinely funny one liners I wish they kept for the anime. Was holding out for the dub, but sadly no. So actually I should mention why Dabi says you’re pathetic to drag a bunch of students out here. It’s not implying he thinks Tokoyami is weak, especially when we know the League tried to kidnap him. (Which was Compress improv. No one gave any order to do that.) He’s saying it’s pathetic that the heroes in this operation thought they needed STUDENTS on standby. And as all the villains know NOW, this is ALL OUT WAR. And Dabi proceeds to have Tokoyami question what he’s fighting for in protecting the status quo. And when Tokoyami upholds the status quo caring for his teacher, Dabi just gets pissed and says you’re not thinking for yourself. Which…everything Dabi said was sadly true. Much like Stain it’s used in VERY twisted fashion, but I can’t outright disagree with what he says. I can’t tell you how many people get HYPED for Todoroki on Geten’s entrance I’ve seen already. (Todoroki is helping civilians and I don’t think he’d explode at Mount Lady. It’s funny how I never see someone catch that.) And as we know, Dabi and Geten are actually quite equal in power output minus longevity considering their MVA performance. Not just because Dabi failed to kill Geten, but because the reverse is true too. Machia is awake. The heroes don’t really have any contingencies in sight for stopping Machia other than stopping Shigaraki from waking up. And we’re already too late for that. Let’s leave it there. Next we got the evacuation being calm, IMMEDIATELY halted by the BIGGEST chills as OFA the 1st warns ALL the alarm bells for Deku. And what a speech that is. I LOVE IT but my GOD is it freaky. A transcendent one approaches, freed from the shackles of humanity, his power now swells. Stop him. As Deku holds himself from the sheer pressure of the order. That is OFA telling Deku: YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF STOPPING THAT. THAT IS WHAT ALL OF US DO AND HAVE DONE. Little do people seem to realize something. The final scene to speak of in depth is FILLED with nuance. Here is what the anime has told you. Shigaraki is at 75%. Deku is at 45%. And I’ll ask you this. Of what are we comparing that to? Because if there’s something VERY obvious, if Deku were at 100% and a bit more than twice as strong, would that compare to what we just saw Shigaraki do with decay? I can tell you right now. No. No it would not. We are REALLY getting into what makes my OFA theory. Feel free to disagree, but let me try and prove my point for what we know at this point in anime. I have tried to tell people Deku can’t POSSIBLY be learning 1% at a time based on just how GIGANTIC of a difference there is from each increase in %, and there’s no way it can be Deku starting from All-Might power. (All-Might kinda proved that by MANHANDLING Deku and saying Deku’s 100% blasts are a 5 out of 100 in season 2.) And because of that, I came up with a system that works best for the story, and I think Horikoshi truly is using this system. As Deku’s max control increases, his stockpile arsenal also increases, all to master what was given to him when he received OFA. 1/60th of what All-Might could do 6 years ago. (If All-Might could only use 1/60th in season 1, I don’t think he could pass the full 60/60 either.) All-Might has a blazing vestige, and OFA is always described as a raging inferno. If that is true, I think the walking inferno man IN OFA likely has a LOT more flames. Can’t use them since he’s crippled and all now. But they ABSOLUTELY seem to be there. (So by my theory Deku is about 1/120th of OFA at its absolute best.) Want to prove me wrong? Tell me when and where Deku’s quirk increased by a MULTIPLICATION OF 60 TIMES. And I’ll wait because when you go to look, you will NOT find one. That being said, Deku at 100% is still in league with MANY top pros as do a number of his classmates. So chances are they’ll redefine pro power later. Shigaraki on the other hand…proves to be on the spectrum of PRIME AFO. 75% of the FULL 60/60. What was missing in the last 25%? Don’t know, but we’ll see. That decay wave made the United States of Smash look TINY. Probably because it was PRIME vs 1/60th pushed to max. It made DEIKA look small. And is it the best Shigaraki can do? I HIGHLY doubt it. If that ENTIRE LAB was dedicated to giving Shigaraki the quirks of AFO…what we saw…was decay WITHOUT OTHER QUIRKS BEING STACKED. (And I don’t think it was 25% of his quirks are missing. I think that’s what was being forcibly injected into his shock treatment BEFORE he went in the tank.) Oh and he has quirk deleting bullets. Many are gone, but he has a FEW and that’s INSANELY dangerous. The ONLY good thing is that even though Shigaraki must have COUNTLESS quirks, he doesn’t have 200 years of experience using it and practicing quirk usage like AFO. So…even though our main protagonist is about 1/100th of the main antagonist, that would only be for certain the case of Shigaraki was fully mastered of what he has. And as INSANE as the decay demonstration was, that should be ALL he has mastery of. We are in for a WILD RIDE. I’m still fine tuning my theory as we go, because I’ve been WAITING for these scenes to be animated as this is where it’ll be best to show feat progressions and such.
Tbh There was no status quo involved here it's just people who have chosen to commit senseless murders and need to be stopped at all costs that's it, coz I'm pretty sure none of them would be targeted if they weren't trying to annihilate society 🤦♀️ what they're doing and have done is unjustifiable
@@NomieKurta Twice specifically is a special case. That and the fact there’s literal shows about humiliating the desperate is REALLY messed up. THAT part of hero society is messed up. No one knows Twice is capable of destroying the country EXCEPT Hawks. And I more than brought up has circumstance even been the SLIGHTEST bit different, Twice wouldn’t be a murderer in his last actions, he’d have a case of defense of another. And he’s morally harmless making him the easiest to redeem. It’s stuff like that. But at the end of the day, Dabi is twisting it to suit his needs and a LOT. But on a bare bones basis, he is in many ways correct. That’s my point.

I’m not saying the heroes weren’t justified arresting the league. I’m saying with their family like nature in the league, what they do in their heads is justified and it takes more than waving a new new life in front of them. And for intensive purposes, Twice was no murderer up til the end. And if you kill saving your family, you have a case of defense of another. (Basically self defense but so you can take action for those closest to you without suffering consequences in life or death peril.) Is there something wrong with all of them? Oh you BET. All of them are varying crazies. But they are still human. They’d need to serve time, and I’d have them go through therapy. But if they went through it, they could recover and be rehabilitated. Murderers are monsters for a moment. They don’t cease to be human. That’s what makes this so much more morally grey now that we understand their relationship with each other so much more. I do NOT disagree with the sentence Hawks dealt in the moment. That’s my point.
Shigs fingers are completely gone, that’s like a protector/brace covering his stubs. Re-Destro ripped them off (censored) and he can decay without needing all 5 fingers. He literally attacked Re-Destro last season with the two remaining fingers right after losing them
what's scary is AFO said when he gets quirks, and when he mixes then (flash to all might fight when he was doing combos) he has to learn how to use them/what effects they had. Shigi is waking up and possibly knows how to use them off RIP. DO YOU REALIZE HOW TERRIFYING THAT IS!?
In the manga its easier to see but Crust cried in his last shot. With a smile and finger up, tears were in his eyes coz he knew this is his end :( Also yes for sur e alot of heros died, i mean they showed us Crust coz he is no6. but there were a lot of "extras" (how Bakugou d put it) that had no way of leaving that building or city in time with their quirks. Like you really kinda fucked unless you can fly.
Shigaraki doesn’t need to touch you with all five fingers. He only needs to activate his quirk and anything his body touches decays. He use decay with his feet during the re destro fight. He doesn’t have the mental barriers that put the all five finger limit on his quirk.
Crust gives us a good impression and a simple baseline power that gives us an idea that like endeavor, all might and best jeanist that they worked hard and likely have a story worth being told... and then he dies being a hero because shigaraki turned into a fuck you button with 250 other fuck you buttons

when I first read through this arc, I thought the scope of shigaraki's improved decay made him getting AFO kinda redundant. he's already a city levelling threat without inheriting a historical super-quirk. the enhancement could have been just so his body can take the strain of his own quirk. but I guess the author really wanted to drill in the deku-shigaraki parallel, so I get what he's going for.
Yeah but anyone who can fly can relatively easily take care of him then. And decay hurt his own body too when he decayed the city in redestro fight. And just having a large aoe attack wouldn't let him compete against midoriya's 100% full cowling and the other quirks.
I thought for sure they would stretch it out and delay this episode of Shigiraki disintegrating everything. I thought at most it would be just X-less and maybe Crust with the episode ending on a cliff hanger.
this episode was amazing! but something is gonna happen in the next episodes that I can't make sense out of... only conclusion that I came down to, was that the creator wrote himself into an extreme that he couldn't get out of

Pretty sure Shiggy big level up in last season was that it could spread and only needed 3 fingers.

this episode was top tier, I'm only a my hero academia anime watcher and each episode just keeps on getting better so far this season.

I honestly wish that wasn't his plan. Shigaraki's a more engaging villain, has more parallels with Deku, has more build up.

I love the choices of dialogue in the dub of this episode
Yeah "Let's begin with everyone" caused a lot of confusion with the folks who reacted to the sub. "Bring everyone here" is much, much clearer. I think I liked Bakugo's sub dialogue better ("You just want a chocolate bun" was a funnier response) but overall the dub is really good.
The upgrade to decay isn't flat out mentioned but its shown. Basically shigaraki has more intricate and precise control over what he can decay or leave unaffected. Like with x-less's cape and also with the little plateau he left unscathed while he wiped out the surrounding area.

5:23 In the manga Shigaraki lost those fingers during the fight against ReDestro which is when everyone found out he able to use the decay quirk without those fingers. But in the anime, they censored it to the point where he didn't actually lose his fingers and were just crushed or broken like Deku, but he can use that hand to decay without all 5 fingers.

CRUMBLING, CRUMBLING, IT'S COMING CRUMBLING
BEWARE!
Shigaraki decayed an entire mountainside as a flex. That is the embodiment of destruction.
So before we get going, I’m just going to say these next few episodes are going to be me at my MOST analytical. Let’s get into it shall we?
Let’s start with Shigaraki waking up. In the manga? I’m going to be honest, I REALLY appreciated the anime change. They didn’t explicitly show X-less cause Shigaraki’s awakening. They showed him look at the machine, and the moment he did, the spark conveniently woke up Shigaraki. This one was X-less trying to insure the materials that almost made Shigaraki (and then proceeded to actually make Shigaraki) never be used to make another. That is a MASSIVE improvement. Because a number of months ago I was actually looking into how the hell his heart just magically restarted and couldn’t come up with a reason why. Also demonstration of Shigaraki using decay as he pleases, he decays X-Less but not the cape. Old Shigaraki couldn’t have done that. So that’s complete nuance control of the quirk. That is some INSANE nuance from a man who does not know restraint well. Also few things I like about Shigaraki’s design, all his injuries from MVA remain. Something not made clear in the manga. He still has the charred arms from when he destroyed Deika City. And although it wasn’t shown in MVA anime, Redestro tore off Shigaraki’s fingers in the scene where he crushed his hands so he couldn’t decay anymore. (So it’s implied in anime they were just amputated later during his many surgeries and torture training after anime MVA occurred.)
Respect on Tokoyami’s name for escaping Fat Gum. We saw Fat Gum shrug off blades that were building length long in season 4, we know he doesn’t care about bullets, and when Monoma explained why he can’t use stockpile quirks, they showed Fat Gum taking a MISSILE AND NOT CARING ABOUT ITS ACTIVATION LAUNCHED AT WHAT WE ASSUME IS FULL SPEED. And Tokoyami just ESCAPES him. And I hope the dub keeps the original lines of the manga of Fat Gum in this chapter. When Tokoyami escapes and Fat Gum chases him, he says “Don’t think I’ll let ya Dine and Dash on me like that!” And I LOVE that line. And when he almost gets crushed by Mount Lady’s…assets, he says “Some bun’s coming in hot!” And those are just genuinely funny one liners I wish they kept for the anime. Was holding out for the dub, but sadly no.
So actually I should mention why Dabi says you’re pathetic to drag a bunch of students out here. It’s not implying he thinks Tokoyami is weak, especially when we know the League tried to kidnap him. (Which was Compress improv. No one gave any order to do that.) He’s saying it’s pathetic that the heroes in this operation thought they needed STUDENTS on standby. And as all the villains know NOW, this is ALL OUT WAR. And Dabi proceeds to have Tokoyami question what he’s fighting for in protecting the status quo. And when Tokoyami upholds the status quo caring for his teacher, Dabi just gets pissed and says you’re not thinking for yourself. Which…everything Dabi said was sadly true. Much like Stain it’s used in VERY twisted fashion, but I can’t outright disagree with what he says.
I can’t tell you how many people get HYPED for Todoroki on Geten’s entrance I’ve seen already. (Todoroki is helping civilians and I don’t think he’d explode at Mount Lady. It’s funny how I never see someone catch that.) And as we know, Dabi and Geten are actually quite equal in power output minus longevity considering their MVA performance. Not just because Dabi failed to kill Geten, but because the reverse is true too.
Machia is awake. The heroes don’t really have any contingencies in sight for stopping Machia other than stopping Shigaraki from waking up. And we’re already too late for that. Let’s leave it there.
Next we got the evacuation being calm, IMMEDIATELY halted by the BIGGEST chills as OFA the 1st warns ALL the alarm bells for Deku. And what a speech that is. I LOVE IT but my GOD is it freaky. A transcendent one approaches, freed from the shackles of humanity, his power now swells. Stop him. As Deku holds himself from the sheer pressure of the order. That is OFA telling Deku: YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF STOPPING THAT. THAT IS WHAT ALL OF US DO AND HAVE DONE.
Little do people seem to realize something. The final scene to speak of in depth is FILLED with nuance. Here is what the anime has told you. Shigaraki is at 75%. Deku is at 45%. And I’ll ask you this. Of what are we comparing that to? Because if there’s something VERY obvious, if Deku were at 100% and a bit more than twice as strong, would that compare to what we just saw Shigaraki do with decay? I can tell you right now. No. No it would not. We are REALLY getting into what makes my OFA theory. Feel free to disagree, but let me try and prove my point for what we know at this point in anime.
I have tried to tell people Deku can’t POSSIBLY be learning 1% at a time based on just how GIGANTIC of a difference there is from each increase in %, and there’s no way it can be Deku starting from All-Might power. (All-Might kinda proved that by MANHANDLING Deku and saying Deku’s 100% blasts are a 5 out of 100 in season 2.) And because of that, I came up with a system that works best for the story, and I think Horikoshi truly is using this system. As Deku’s max control increases, his stockpile arsenal also increases, all to master what was given to him when he received OFA. 1/60th of what All-Might could do 6 years ago. (If All-Might could only use 1/60th in season 1, I don’t think he could pass the full 60/60 either.) All-Might has a blazing vestige, and OFA is always described as a raging inferno. If that is true, I think the walking inferno man IN OFA likely has a LOT more flames. Can’t use them since he’s crippled and all now. But they ABSOLUTELY seem to be there. (So by my theory Deku is about 1/120th of OFA at its absolute best.) Want to prove me wrong? Tell me when and where Deku’s quirk increased by a MULTIPLICATION OF 60 TIMES. And I’ll wait because when you go to look, you will NOT find one. That being said, Deku at 100% is still in league with MANY top pros as do a number of his classmates. So chances are they’ll redefine pro power later.
Shigaraki on the other hand…proves to be on the spectrum of PRIME AFO. 75% of the FULL 60/60. What was missing in the last 25%? Don’t know, but we’ll see. That decay wave made the United States of Smash look TINY. Probably because it was PRIME vs 1/60th pushed to max. It made DEIKA look small. And is it the best Shigaraki can do? I HIGHLY doubt it. If that ENTIRE LAB was dedicated to giving Shigaraki the quirks of AFO…what we saw…was decay WITHOUT OTHER QUIRKS BEING STACKED. (And I don’t think it was 25% of his quirks are missing. I think that’s what was being forcibly injected into his shock treatment BEFORE he went in the tank.) Oh and he has quirk deleting bullets. Many are gone, but he has a FEW and that’s INSANELY dangerous. The ONLY good thing is that even though Shigaraki must have COUNTLESS quirks, he doesn’t have 200 years of experience using it and practicing quirk usage like AFO. So…even though our main protagonist is about 1/100th of the main antagonist, that would only be for certain the case of Shigaraki was fully mastered of what he has. And as INSANE as the decay demonstration was, that should be ALL he has mastery of.
We are in for a WILD RIDE. I’m still fine tuning my theory as we go, because I’ve been WAITING for these scenes to be animated as this is where it’ll be best to show feat progressions and such.
Tbh There was no status quo involved here it's just people who have chosen to commit senseless murders and need to be stopped at all costs that's it, coz I'm pretty sure none of them would be targeted if they weren't trying to annihilate society 🤦♀️ what they're doing and have done is unjustifiable
@@NomieKurta Twice specifically is a special case. That and the fact there’s literal shows about humiliating the desperate is REALLY messed up. THAT part of hero society is messed up. No one knows Twice is capable of destroying the country EXCEPT Hawks. And I more than brought up has circumstance even been the SLIGHTEST bit different, Twice wouldn’t be a murderer in his last actions, he’d have a case of defense of another. And he’s morally harmless making him the easiest to redeem. It’s stuff like that.
But at the end of the day, Dabi is twisting it to suit his needs and a LOT. But on a bare bones basis, he is in many ways correct. That’s my point.

And for intensive purposes, Twice was no murderer up til the end. And if you kill saving your family, you have a case of defense of another. (Basically self defense but so you can take action for those closest to you without suffering consequences in life or death peril.)
Is there something wrong with all of them? Oh you BET. All of them are varying crazies. But they are still human. They’d need to serve time, and I’d have them go through therapy. But if they went through it, they could recover and be rehabilitated. Murderers are monsters for a moment. They don’t cease to be human. That’s what makes this so much more morally grey now that we understand their relationship with each other so much more. I do NOT disagree with the sentence Hawks dealt in the moment. That’s my point.
Just so you know, they said last episode that Shigaraki has ALL FOR ONE. As in, he has the quirk to steal quirks and give them to others.

Shigs fingers are completely gone, that’s like a protector/brace covering his stubs. Re-Destro ripped them off (censored) and he can decay without needing all 5 fingers. He literally attacked Re-Destro last season with the two remaining fingers right after losing them
what's scary is AFO said when he gets quirks, and when he mixes then (flash to all might fight when he was doing combos) he has to learn how to use them/what effects they had. Shigi is waking up and possibly knows how to use them off RIP. DO YOU REALIZE HOW TERRIFYING THAT IS!?

In the manga its easier to see but Crust cried in his last shot. With a smile and finger up, tears were in his eyes coz he knew this is his end :( Also yes for sur e alot of heros died, i mean they showed us Crust coz he is no6. but there were a lot of "extras" (how Bakugou d put it) that had no way of leaving that building or city in time with their quirks. Like you really kinda fucked unless you can fly.
It was quite fun reading manga as it built up to this moment and seeing so many fans anticipating Shigaraki's eventual "Thanos snap".

Shigaraki doesn’t need to touch you with all five fingers. He only needs to activate his quirk and anything his body touches decays. He use decay with his feet during the re destro fight. He doesn’t have the mental barriers that put the all five finger limit on his quirk.

when I first read through this arc, I thought the scope of shigaraki's improved decay made him getting AFO kinda redundant. he's already a city levelling threat without inheriting a historical super-quirk. the enhancement could have been just so his body can take the strain of his own quirk.
but I guess the author really wanted to drill in the deku-shigaraki parallel, so I get what he's going for.
Yeah but anyone who can fly can relatively easily take care of him then. And decay hurt his own body too when he decayed the city in redestro fight. And just having a large aoe attack wouldn't let him compete against midoriya's 100% full cowling and the other quirks.
