- I apologize for the length of this video, but I have been making lots of progress this month on my train layout!
This past month I have been busy working with electrical work in the main yard. This level of work is pushing my comfort zone, and I’m really pleased with how well everything is working so far!
I hope you enjoy, and Please let me know what you think!
Great update. Glad to see it coming along nicely.
Having the switches on the constant power is the best way. Never had great luck with them running off of track power. They are not consistant since the track power varies depending on what is running.
Structure placement MAKES SENCE !!! UNLIKE MOST.... 😳
Great layout update! Very nice switching action!
Keep up the good work! Your layouts looking great! Love the Postwar 50’s feel!
Very impressive! Thank you!
Coming along nicely! Like you, I prefer the simplicity of conventional control, it’s just easier in the long term to me.
REALLY NICE SET UP !!!!
Nicely done
The street lights look to be Kolber ones, they are a contemporary copy of the Lionel metal ones
Good job!
Woah awesome 😊
Awesome stuff! Coming along great! Do you have any videos of how you did the block wiring? Is it just putting an insulated pin for center rail on either end of that block and then having the switch from your board turning power onto the lock on within that block?
Exactly that! I will most likely make a video on this soon.
Your track alignment is superb. Parallel straight sections and curves fit perfectly to the turnouts. I like your track plan diagram style control panel using toggle switches for directing power to each track. It is smart using constant power for throwing the turnouts. Is the red-green signal powered thru the track power switches? Do you plan on adding any engine storage tracks in the future? Looking forward to your April update.
Thanks! To answer you question, the red-green signal are both wired to turnouts, so I can use them to signal if train have the clear to leave the yard
What's the length and size of your current layout
It’s a 8 by 12 foot rectangle with a weird angled pieces shaped like a part of a Pentagon,
I have a small layout it's a 4x8 on casters and it's an outer passing loop
Sweet set up!
I have a question: how did you wire your siding to turn on and off because i tried to do that and It didn't work so what am i doing wrong
On sidings, there is a small hole built into the electronic box that houses the light, that can be wired to a positive, to create an isolated positive current for the switch to throw.
