I love your layout. It’s old school and what I personally feel a train layout should be. I love conventional Lionel Trains. There is just something about them I love. Brings out the child in me!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
I really enjoy seeing postwar trains running on your layout, especially these passenger sets! Well done.
Thank you!
Although this set was pieced together by a friend of mine I bought it from, I have set 2244W from 1955. This 3 car piece set is led by the 2367 Wabash F3 with the 2530 Railway Express Baggage Car, 2533 Silver Cloud, and 2531 Silver Dawn.
Those are very nice sets. I only have one set of Lionel full sized cars, the MPC 1983 20TH Century Limited Set. All the rest of my full-sized cars are AMT. Santa Fe, NYC, Pennsy and Southern. I have a number of the smaller, O27 cars, in silver. I've always preferred passenger trains over the freight. There is just something about them. I retired last year after a career on the railroad, so I've seen enough freights.😉 I was typing this in chat and was ready to post this, but the stream ended. It was a nice, enjoyable video.
Thank you!
Can't beat that #773 with those beautiful madisons!! Although I do really like the CNJ trainmaster, can't beat a hudson! Nice video Al!
Thanks!
Al, another great video with some really nice train sets.
Thank you!
Looks great, really like the 773
WOW I Have That One Set The Milwaukee Road, The Rest Of These Sets Are Magnificent.
Old Head Collector Told Me, Colect Box Sets, Well I Was Clueless In His Analogy but Watching This, I Finally Got It.
@@gusshadleythelunaticfromar7125 I like collecting original sets, and it is nicer if they have their original boxes and set box. I have maybe 6 postwar sets with all boxes & the set box. Most of my sets don't have all their boxes, but are original sets.
Great run .
Now that is three beautiful postwar sets. Great job Al! Someday I hope to have all three of my collection. 👍💯
Thanks, and sorry for the late response! It is all about the hunt which takes time and perseverance to find these sets. All part of the fun. Working on these old trains, performing maintenance, and bringing them back to life is also rewarding.
Awesome sets, thanks for the video and information.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
3 beautiful sets. Too bad Lionel did not make a baggage car & observation car to compliment the 2148WS set back in 1950.
I agree! Lionel did catalog an observation car during the prewar period but never produced one that I am aware of.
Marx guy here, that`s a Spicy Meat Ball. Me likem .
I'm a lionel collector and my layout is similar to yours
Cool! Is there a particular era you like to collect? Postwar, prewar, modern?
