Face Life you know what? I bet to Emmett, their time apart seemed no longer than one day or a few hours. God’s time is different from ours. I believe that as soon as she crossed over, Emmett was right there waiting for her and all of the pain she suffered here was washed away as if it never was.
One strong, brave and admirable woman. Some ppl let tragedies define them, she didn’t. She never cried victim even though her heart was broken. She may have never gotten justice for her baby but because of her courage, strength and determination, the whole country saw what demons look like. His name better never be forgotten and may we all learn to look beyond our differences and treat each other like human beings.

I wish she would have talked more about her mom, who was basically a white woman with some black in her. I’m always interested in how so many “black people” looked white in the south during those times. No one really talks about that. I mean, we know what happened during slavery, but this is decades after slavery ended.
I probably wouldn't be able to call myself an "American" without this woman. My Indian parents immigrated to the U.S. in the 1970s, along with many other Indians. That wouldn't have even been possible without the courage of Mamie Till.
