I got the sapphire crystal version a few months ago and I love it. I like the hesalite version to but the movement is so pretty I had to see it. The milky ring of old is more or less gone now too. I have sold all my watches now and just have a speedy. Couldn’t be happier and I will never sell it. I was born in 69 the year of the first moon landing so I was destined to have a speedy.
I respect the sapphire sandwich. Hesalite makes my version closer to the NASA specs, but then it is only a gimmick.Your Speed is more advanced and more expensive, a pleasure to own.
You can not go wrong choosing the mineral crystal. But progress makes sense and practical benefits of non-scrachable hardest crystal that is also transparent can not be denied. But let us not create the two camps and all stay Speedy lovers.
@@Watchatete yup same camp hahaha but you know? You can get a 60cent self healing TPU film 0.1mm thickness for the hesalite now? It's virtually invisible to the naked eye and doesn't affect the opacity of the beautiful hesalite at all. It wraps around the curvature of the hesalite too...so you really cannot see there's a 0.1mm TPU film! That's also technological progress that makes hesalite now a practical watch as well and more shatter proof too. I have a shattered sapphire crystal that i haven't repaired yet. Hehehe Easy to self install too.
Congratulations it wears perfect on you! I own the previous version 1863 Bought it right when the new 3861 came out. After a long tortuous decision making, I based my final decision on the one that wears larger 🤷🏽♂️, I’m 6’3 ft tall with bear arms and I have it on an alligator strap as a dress watch 🤣.
@@JoseJoeable Metal bracelet, rule of thumb when buying any watches always buy it on its original metal bracelet. It’s easier to get any strap after, the original metal bracelet are expensive and hard to find and if you decide to sell it you will regret it.
Why did you choose this version over the sapphire crystal version? If it is everyday watch wouldn’t the sapphire crystal attract less scratches? I understand that this is a little cheaper and he’s alone was worn on the moon but as a daily isn’t the sapphire crystal the way to go?
People choose it for a lot of reasons. Heritage is one thing, but ignoring that, the hesalite has a different look. It does scratch, but can be polished with polywatch a couple times a year.

Great video. Classic design language!
Spiralwinder Watch Parts manufacturers an aftermarket sapphire case back for your watch, FYI
Gotta love the hesalite! Solid caseback is beautiful! Plus brushed bracelet is really more beautiful

Thanks for mentioning.
@@Mega-zi7ys hi. can you send the link of TPU film. i want to get one for my speedy. thanks.
If progress was all, then we would all wear quarts. -Or even worse; apple watches..
I just got the same, the hesalite version, and me too I just love it, timing everything, takes me 6min 23 sec to the supermarket😊Great video, thanks.
Thanks for commenting. The speedy is well worth it.
11:19 it now comes with the push button clasp, looks like you just missed out!

1861 is perfect itself. I prefer the new bracelet, but it is still a Speedy.
@@Watchatete Also I meant to add, I chose the Sapphire display back, all the anti-purists choices but I love my Speedy

@@JoseJoeable 1863 was an improvement on 1861 and made the saphire sandwich so much better. !863 on alligator strap. Top choice!!!

Both watches have exactly the same movwment. And the saphire sanwich is more expensive for very little extra features.
