Yeah i already shared it ;) I already bought one with the gtx 980, so far so good the only thing is that it's a bit noisy even on idle... Is this normal or should i contact support?
Thanks, for showing how to open up my pc like yours. I totally forgot! Hmm somehow, it’s hard to open, and can’t open it easily. Anyone knows how to do this? Or just apply little more force? Oh I just found out to unscrew the top, near the hedges and then switch the switch. Now you can open it easily.
It is 32gb 2400 ram, i7-6900k, sli gtx1080, 1tb ssd, 4tb spin storage, also got an Acer Predator X34 3440*1440 over clocked to 100mhz refresh with gsynch and display port. Hopefully will run everything pretty well. Cost a small fortune in the UK but I love the unique case shape, was getting bored of glowing self built boxes.
If they could hold the old ones they can def would the news ones although I'm quite sure rtx is only two way SLI now. And SLI is dying so just go for a 2080 super 2080ti or 5700xt for 1080ti like performance
Ok I have the same but mine only has 1 Titan graphics card. Yours has 3 graphics card s which one do you plug your monitor in? WHAT DOSE THE OTHER 2 DO??? Please explain tis to me I never saw this!
sorry my friend, I had to send this system back shortly after I reviewed it, but you can find more information on the written review, check it out here: www.dragonblogger.com/review-of-the-alienware-area51-r2/
Hey great video thx!!! i cannot get the covers off you make it look so easy any suggestions? i have all 4 fingers inside the top while holding the tab up & pulling the cover all directions the cover moves 1/8 inch but will not come off thx
it has the i7 processor turbo boost 2.0 up to 4 .0 gigahertz GTX 970 graphics card 2 terabyte hard drive optical drive 8 gigabytes of 2 x 4GB DD AR 42133
i found the whole retention system of the PCIE cards annoying. it has this kind of back plastic switches, but then it also has traditional screws which are not that easy to get as the chassis border blocks a direct angle at them. in other machines with plastic retention brackets are meant to replace the screws, i dont get what they were trying to achieve to have kind of fake tool free access but you still need tools.
thanks. I have learned to cope with not all the way in screws, as it is impossible to get at them at a direct angle. I think they should make a single retention bracket for the whole set of PCIE akin to Lenovo P900's, even if with scews but at least they will be two screws to handle and not two for every card. I have two GPUs and a PCIE to M2 card and I dread the moment I would need to upgrade or service them. I think the alternative is to have one of this L-shaped scredrivers to be able to get at them.
I maxed out my same model you have. Cost me a total of $5000. It almost feels like a waste. I also want to take out the components to put it in a less bulky case
so do you want to build it yourself, or do you want Alienware to build it? Remember, as I mentioned in the machine, back when I filmed it (2 years ago) the cost was only about $415.89 lower than building it yourself, this is no including shipping of each individual part, which could have ended up either even or a few dollars less. Factor in the cost of labor and time building the machine, electricity, warranty, support and the Alienware brand the machine was VERY cheap. You can check out my review here, but if you want, I can individualize all the parts for you so you can check it out on amazon and see what it would cost you, just let me know what parts you chose: www.dragonblogger.com/review-of-the-alienware-area51-r2/
9-5-2018. I did screwed up my Area 51 R2 BY CHANGED boot from off to on or wise versa . Now I can’t turn on and not boot at all . Please help if Dell can be reset at mother board able to boot and start up ? Thanks
Hello my friend, glad to have you come by.... but you are going to have to give me a lot more detail, what exactly are you asking for help on, how to build it or what parts to chose and if it is what parts to chose, let me know your budget and I will see what I can come up with. Aside from that, I have tons of videos here that can teach you how to build your computer too.
my Area 51 R2 does nt seem to have an M2 slot. I bought a 10 bucks PCIE card that has a M2 slot. and in10 minutes I had all my games and media at nvme speeds.
Excellent full review. I own the same with some different. I bought it before 3 months. I already upgraded the stoke ssd with 512 gb 860 pro OS and added 1tb 850 evo for games. As for the m.2, i asked some great ppl in Alienware forum and they advice me to buy an Pcie adopter which will allow me to attach my new 512 gb 960 Pro, with up to 2300 mb/s reading and up to 1800 mb/s writing. The adopter will be installed in the 3rd Pcie. Now iam planning (but not sure) to upgrade the stoke Motherboard with any Asus or Msi gaming which should be compatible with i7 9800k cpu. So do you advice me to do this upgrade? What is the positive/negative i will earn for that upgrade? My Cpu is running at 4.3 ghz staple without changing any of the voltage. I don't know if i change the motherboard if that will help me to push the cpu up to 4.6 ghz. Your advice please!! Thanks
I have one of these and my motherboard is fried, but I don't want to spend $200 on one of Alienware's custom built board. Does anyone know if I can use a different board?
@dragon blogger just received mine last week ago now whats been bugging me is the braket which has the retention clips for the gpus, it feels like its blocking the air which the pci fan is blowing, just wondering if its safe to remove the whole bracket. would it affect the pcie slot where the gpu is inserted?
got a single 980TI along with the starter 5820k CPU. yah i don't plan on breaking the thing i heard the mount is only screwed and can be removed.just making sure that the mobo wont break or the pcie slot. thanks for the reply~
to be honest i was bothered by it too so i search the internet and found some answers that is saying for a gpu X8 and X16 wont affect the actual gpu performance in game 0 fps loss and the minimal fps loss during bench marking was soo small 1%. i dont think its worth of a bother. and yes i think the 1st slot is x8 only because of the CPU 5820k they said it changes depending on the CPU ur using with it.
where are the panel connectors for front button like the power sw cord and shit? i replaced my mobo with one for more memory but i cant find the goddamn power buttons cord
You didn't even take the time to talk about the very little important detail before opening the door because it is locked. It needs to be unlocked before you can push the handle up to open the door.
Not that I didn't take the time, perhaps the case had been updated (this video is 4 years old) at 15:47 I talk about how I opened the case, and that it was tooless. There was only a latch, which I mention at that time.... I can't make an update on something I don't have or have no knowledge of, I reported on what they sent me..... 4 years ago.

If the fans are clogged, it cannot cool, try breathing through a pillow for an hour, it is difficult.

A shame they skimp on quality when it comes to the motherboard, memory, and mechanical drives "they're slow even for mechanical and they use green drives"... At that price they should be using multiple 500gb SSD's and one good 7200 RPM mechanical drive, along with 2400mhz memory, an ASUS ROG motherboard or something like a MSI mobo, or any other number of good boards out there. I see why there is no window. They just cram everything in there without hiding the wires or tieing them up neatly which also helps with airflow and dust. They have some basic crap inside that thing because they're trying to make a huge profit off of people who don't know any better. 4,000 for that fucking thing LOL.. the aio pictured looks a lot like the gamerstorm maelstrom...i had one on an o'ced i7 920 and it lasted about 2-3 months before the pump siezed...horrible bloody thing.i upgraded to the gamerstorm captain 240mm white.its a major improvement.it sits on around 27 degrees @4.7ghz and wont go over 80-85 degrees at full load.did you check my system out?what do you think?
