Hi Mitchell, your dad and I have spoken several times in your shop over the last few years. I live down in Mineola. Just curious since this is the first I’ve heard of some of your guitars being assembled overseas, where exactly are you farming those builds out to?
Is it solid back and sides on both? Are they both hand voiced? How does the voicing process reflect in the import model the way you would voice it? Some companies like Eastman hand voice while making production guitars, Furch and Breedlove (made in Bend, not their imports) have a way to be consistent as well using technology.
Would it make much difference in the sound if the cut away was 1 fret deeper than the other guitar on the left (watching the video), maybe its just my eyes or the way the angle of the guitars look together. Both look great.
The cutaway on the usa made model is indeed a little rounder. Overall, it may add a few cubic inches to the acoustic chamber as a whole... but, any style of cutaway is going to contribute a very inactive corner to the guitar, and will not be a highly vibrational area of the top. So, the cutaway shouldn't be where the difference in sound is. But good of you to notice! Thanks for watching!
KnK pickups are great too. I see suttle differences between the two. Guitar B is the USA n A is the one americans aren't building for you. Your guitar is crisp n clear. I don't know how they can build it that cheap in china. Hope kids aren't slaving over them! I personally would make a name for the family n build here in America! You want the guitar ...pay for the quality is my opinion. Thanks for the video 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Beautiful sounding guitar.. just because its made via china people think its not as good as American made. The only difference is to my ears are, time, as you said. So bang for your buck, its a no brainer.
Both nice sounding guitars, but guitar b wins at first. If guitar a plays and sounds like guitar b after its had some playing time to break in so to speak then for the money it will be great value. Thank you for doing an honest review it doesn't seem to make much difference where its made nowadays as both countries turn out quality guitars and it comes down to what a person can afford. Anyhow thanks for the review, its nice to watch a straight forward comparison. Cheers from Australia.
This is an honest man who makes great sounding guitars we need more people like him

Guitar "B" sounded far warmer to my ears. Both sound great though.
Agreed! Thanks for tuning in!
Same exact strings? Same age?
Yes! Meant to mention in the video that these guitars both have D'addario XS 12-53 Phospher Bronze strings. Brand new.

Thank you, Anthony! We strongly agree. Take care!
