Nice flight report, Pete. I haven't seen much of Finnair but it looks like a great plane, good food, good service and the seat you chose was very comfortable. I will continue to see more videos, thank you very much for sharing your travels, greetings from Chile!
Thanks so much for watching! Finnair is a smaller airline, but they have a modern long-haul fleet (mostly Airbus A350). They specialize mainly in flights to Asia, flying from Helsinki on a shorter northern route. I like flying with them :-) Greetings from Prague! :-)
Absolutely amazing trip report. AY's A350 interior looks incredibly beautiful. The meals look nice, but I expect it to be better. Still, love the services of that flight and this video too 😉
Thanks so much! The food wasn't that bad, but on the way back I had better (Indian). Otherwise, for me Finnair is a good choice for a long-hauls because they have new airplanes, I can book an exit seat for miles and I have a boarding group 2 right after Business :-D
I have flown with Finnair several time is my life, but this plane i enjoyed the most. The seats where very comfy compared to the other finnair planes...
Easyflying You can try Finnair A350 on short haul routes too, they have an A350 daily to LHR and also to BRU on Saturdays this summer. Pete Brandy, thanks for the report! How did you find the all-Singaporean cabin crew? The Finnair crews to SIN and HKG are all outsourced, I know at first some (elderly) Finnish passengers were not pleased they can't get service in Finnish anymore on these routes, seems to fine now though :)

Thanks so much! Yes, I thins it's a best Economy seat on A350, I think better than Premium economy seat due to unlimited legroom and freedom of movement from the seat. Yes, I connected from Prague (my hometown), Helsinki is one of the best European airports for transfer, minimum transfer time at Helsinki airport is 35 min., there are automatic passport checks, which means no queues at the immigration counter (for EU citizens). A year ago, when I flew to Tokyo, I had a delayed first flight and I catch to transfer in 20 minutes (gate to gate)..
Within a last year I flew 6 long-hauls to Asia with Finnair (all on A350) and there was no on-board magazine on either flight. But when I fly with them in Europe, there is BlueWings in every seat pocket. Maybe they will not provide BlueWings on Asian flights.
Thanks. I always love holding and reading a hard copy of airline inflight magazine when I fly. I will consider again if I will fly with this airline next year
hi can u share ur experience for there ticketing ? are Finnair is easy on there carryon weight? because they charge for the checked bag so if someone fly with a personal item and carry-on are they too strick for weight or easy on it
Hi, I fly quite often with Finnair and always I fly with a cabin carry-on suitcase and a personal item (backpack where I have a laptop and camera) and I never had a problem with. Only once when I flew from Hong Kong, they had a small scale at the gate, but they didn't use it. But if you want to fly only with cabin luggage, better to make an online checkin. And also every my flight I had also included a checked luggage (but never used it). What route do you plan to fly?
@@PeteBrandy USA to oslo is my plan they only allow 1personal item and carry-on and charge for checked bag they dont allow even 1 free checked bag i have to pay for a checked bag so i was wondering how strick they are for carry-on bag weight
btw...your seat probably had a airbag lap belt.....new regulations....bulkhead seats and probable one you were in....with no seat in front of you for protection.....now require the bag...

Both aircrafts are very similar, but very good on A350 for me is an exit seat choice, which has a window (on 787 has exit row only half of the window..). Another good on A350 are classic window shades (on 787 may crew to dim them every time they wants). And yes, A350 is bit wider, 5.61m, 787 is 5.49m (in same 3-3-3 seat configuration). I'm thinking about to make a comparable video A350 vs. 787 :-)
I prefer the a350 to the 787. It's not just wider - and with the same 3×3×3 config those extra 15 cm do make a difference, it feels roomier. It's quieter too.
Yes, the meal service is included in fare on long-haul flights. On-board was a choice between 2 meals (usually chicken or beef), and if you want a different meal (I ordered asian-vegetarian meal), you can preorder it within a ticket reservation (for free)

It is a good airline we flew with them from Singapore to Zurich via Helsinki with a stop over in Helsinki on the way back

Lovely, is the a350 engine only equipped with rolls royce? No General Electric or Pratt and Whitney?
Yes, A350 is only equipped with RR Trent XWB. Similar situation like with Boeing 777X, where will be also one option - GE9X

Is Finnair providing BlueWings (Finnair Inflight Magazines) for every seats?
