You probably would’ve lived a much better life than you do now. Freedom of speech doesn’t really exist in Germany. You could criticize the government (probably not in these days, can’t question the science). Germany also has strict hate speech laws, and you cannot even question history.
Hello, Welcome to the building, I own it. Original Comment I made before editing so people can know c:, have a great life.: “There’s a fire on floor 714 Million, please leave the building”
Yeah, at first i tought "cool, that not so impossible to do in future", then i realize that we will be death due to lack of oxygen without any way to escape, with the face stuck into the sweaty armpit of an unknown. Terrible.
Raziq Azrie Rohaimann yea i just thought it would be cooler if they took into account normal living space. Like instead of 1 square meter maybe 500 sqft per person, and realistic services and jobs and some people will have bigger apartments or homes then others in this one huge building
It would be simple, take some big cities in the world, take the misuration and the population and do the mean, then multiply the misuration in square meter until you reach the misuration for 7 billion people, and then transform into cubic meters.
It don't have parks, or plazas or other things. Its population's density was huge, more than a million for square kilometer. An Italian city is better, like mine in Sardinia. It doesn't have skycrapers, only one but is little, and have many plazas, park garden, boulevard ecc ecc, but it have many land without building, so i suppose an old style little town with low house is better. A town near me have 7328 abitant in 31.35 square km. So doing so math, it is 1068160744.58 cube kilometers.
It’s kinda clickbait because the title says what if everyone in the earth could (live) in one building this is just how many people could stand up in a building
What an unnecessarily rude way to make this point. There are absolutely prisons in the world that keep people alive at densities of one person per .3 square meters. So you're both rude and wrong 😂 No one said it had to be good living
@Black Tim Howard I would love a link or a name of the jail, keep in mind we are not talking about living quarters, these people need to be provided food, water, a place to go to the bathroom, etc. At the very minimum. Even then that would be hell, but I suppose how enjoyable it is isn’t relevant.
@@efence4713 Let's review what you just said. 1) you want the name of the jail that keeps people in subhuman conditions. 2) it can't be one that keeps people in subhuman conditions Are you a flat earther, by chance?
Static wrong title was used. Human can't live inside that building, even just for a day. living space should be above 20sqm also how can people go upstairs there are alot of factors that are not considered in this video. Damn this could be one great video but it is not.
Static Exactly. You could certainly fit everyone, but those are pretty terrible living conditions. There need to be bathrooms, kitchens, stars/elevators, not to mention storage space. And having five people per room means a lot of people would have to be in close quarters with strangers. Plus having all those people in one building means sicknesses would spread like crazy and a small fire in the wrong place could kill almost everyone inside.
Would there be one Wi-Fi password for the whole building? Also will there be one school for everyone? Some satrire: 100 million kids in your class, teaching in 5800 languages at once, 50,000 square foot classroom, you are in the last row then you are 20 miles away from the teacher talking.
That’s how big a building would have to be to fit us all, however, there are some missing factors here. First, the weight on each floor would be gargantuan, as a huge understatement. The support needed for each floor in terms of huge columns or something similar would leave less space for people to be, multiply all that up and you’re looking at a building that would need to be MUCH bigger just from a logistical perspective. Second, in order to, as the video’s title indicates, have everyone “Living” in the same building, we need a building with all necessary human facilities, social, economic, religious, militaristic, hygienic, and on and on and on... That being said, the building would need to be a minimum of 10 times bigger, just in order for us to be comfortable little pancakes, but as long as we have enough Ms. Butterworth‘s Syrup I think we might could make it work...
And the height of each floor? It couldn't be 1.63 meters, this way it would only fit half of the population, it should be the height of the tallest person.
Well, if we consider the six people currently on the ISS, the Earth's population would be... about six people larger. I'm sure we could find room for them somewhere.
There’s this really cool book series called the thousandth floor or something and I loveee it it’s the same concept as a whole city in one long ass building
eating, drinking, sleeping, bathing, communication, sociability I think the living standard should be like the Kowloon City Walled at least. (total floor area / total people living in) People had lived there indeed
+Marco Polo At worst, everyone would die of exhaustion or heart failure within a week. By packing people in like sardine, there's no room to properly rest. Even if humans could sleep standing up or leaning, standing motionless for a long period of time would cut off blood flow from the legs and eventually the brain.
It would be much more interesting to describe a theoretical building that could work as a living space for all people on earth. Like the one in the video in Alaska. So a building where it would actually be possible to live
The building would collapse. Not because it's structurally engineered badly, it's because everyone wouldn't get along with each other to the point that people would literally destroy the building from all the fighting.
But still, you'd get gangs who'd would be in charge of sections in the building. Making it flatter wouldn't change the fact that the building will be destroyed by conflict.
GameSoundTracksHD Too late, we've been outstripping Earth's capacity to renew the resources we use in a year for decades now. Currently it takes 1.7 Earths to sustain the human population, there's even a date called Earth Overshoot Day which marks the point where we exceed the yearly renewing capacity, and this is with the global average lifestyle. If we all lived like Americans we would need 4 Earths.
We need to change our lifestyle into something more ecofriendly or humanity is doomed. Well if we die nature will restore itself so that might be a good thing.
You said LIVED not FIT. People would be squashed, not be able to move, have problems breathing. There would be no amenities, beds etc. Could you make a video about LIVING in a building, like in Whittier? EDIT: Brilliant vid and content overall, just excited to see a conclusion :)
Dr.Dinosaur YES, I expected more. I wish they'll make new video with real LIVEABLE building, with proper measurements not fitting all people like sardines.
EXACTLY! As architect I'm highly disappointed by this video... Expected more. By default and some calculations one human needs min 6sqm of living space. That's what they should have leaned on in this video.
Probably *super* fast considering the data would not have to travel a far distance. It will essentially be a giant LAN. The bigger issues would be hackers who can get the entire worlds information in seconds.
I'm disappointed you didn't use the density of that first building where the entire 214 pop city lived as a starting point for how big the building would need to be
largol33t1 you don't seem to know how small 1 sqare meter is for 5 people, author of this video don'z know it either, because you can't move in that space
He definitely simplified the question to how much volume do we need to fit the entire human population in it instead of how big the building needs to be to also make it possible for LIVING. ... and don’t forget if you’re taller than 1.63 you won’t even fit inside ... no heels for me I suppose
The reason I was wondering about this was, in the case we needed to evavuate the Earth. And take every single human being with us. It actually could be possible, to build a giant cube like this in orbit. And to the transport everyone up there, even using the technology available to us today. A bit of a stretch, and a squeeze, lol. But definitely well within the realm of possible. Amazing. I had to rewind just to watch again. And to think some people say that there's too many people, naa man. There's not enough. If just everyone could get along and work together, nothing would be beyond us..
1.6m? Dude... You can't just make the ceiling height based on the average. That means 50% of the population have to constantly be bent over. That's not "fitting comfortably".
Some floors (story) will be higher and some shorter. But the average height will be 1.63m. I'm more concern about the structural integrity of a finitely thin floors/ceilnig having to support the literal weight of humanity.
I suggest the novel series "the Expanse", the 5th book will disabuse you of the notion... there is always someone narcissistic & sociopathic enough to want to do something like this. And with the right technology, which even now we technically have... one can do it to the whole planet. It would hardly need everyone in a building.
TheFucktard69 yeah, I'd never fit into this. I s'pose you could have a range of ceiling heights and put all the little people together and all the tall people together.
I think the idea of everyone living in one building (or in a small area) is really interesting. The rest of the world would just be nature and no people could interfere.
The comparison can be made more accurate because when you mentioned the example of the small Alaskan town, people all lived in that building comfortably, but later on you were only considering literally "fitting" all these people. In my opinion, it takes a minimum of 50 sq meter of space to live comfortably, with all functional areas and living space included. Simply doing the math, that's 374350 sq km of total living space for all human beings. If the height of each storey is 3 meters, then a cube of 10km side lengths can roughly host the world's population and allow them to live with comfort. Although that's a lot larger than the cube, it's still not too gigantic if you put it alongside with Manhattan.
+HansBj Why would the doors even be lockable? everyone in building but no one prevented someone from locking all entrances simultaneously? ....why wouldnt there be safety precautions implemented since we already require in every new building..
Okay but like what if we had sections? Housing sections, food sections where we could grow everything, entertained sections where literally every form of entertainment is there, just lile have sections for everything so we know where we're going and can explore endlessly:) and we can create new sections as needed
Marr Millz hahahaha yeah borders are so stupid like wtf has the world been thinking since the beginning of human civilization hahahaha so unnecessary doesnt donald trump know that no one wants to hurt any ideologically opposing faction because they believe it is their religous duty and ultimate responsibility to their god???

Too late, we've been outstripping Earth's capacity to renew the resources we use in a year for decades now.
I completely agree, but sadly in the current day and age, barely anyone cares about how they use energy and where from.
how you going to fit 5 whole person in 1 single meter square, im sitting on my computer chair and I'm taking up more space than that lol
That's what they should have leaned on in this video.
such click bait. the entire video is just about fitting entire human population, this is not live inside a building.
RealLifeLore You should put this as top comment or add it in the description so it won't get buried under comments.
Apology definitely accepted :) I love your videos just thought I would point this out
What WIFI quality would we expect from this?
you mean 1 kb/s
Naj Kraemer yes capt obvious
Probably *super* fast considering the data would not have to travel a far distance. It will essentially be a giant LAN.
The bigger issues would be hackers who can get the entire worlds information in seconds.
we wouldn't even need internet which the fact that the entire internet people would actually be in the building
lolol the wifi quality would indeed suckkk
Realistically:*Everybody together*One guy:*Coughs* Everybody else:Ah shit,Here we go again.
I'm disappointed you didn't use the density of that first building where the entire 214 pop city lived as a starting point for how big the building would need to be
That would be too laggy.
YEAH VIDEO GAME THINKING!!!
And your haters are near you
MoDz Modz you could just do a lan party
It’s better then having 100 ping... like, your all next to each other...
Pnort3002 what if you start to rage
And then what happens when we crash a plane into this mega building full of people.
cams nsat your Real_Life.exe will stop working.
King robots
Then we've saved the world from global warming
A paradox for the ages. Maybe one side of the building hates the other side, and they build a drone plane.
Well, it wouldn't collapse, since jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams. LOL
5 people in 1 square meter does not sound very comfortable
Some people in apartments in Hong Kong are living in spaces nowhere near that size! Look up videos on "Hong Kong cage apartments"
largol33t1 you don't seem to know how small 1 sqare meter is for 5 people, author of this video don'z know it either, because you can't move in that space
Yeah, that's some incredibly small, shoulder to shoulder density, forbidding any kind of space necessary for furniture or anything else humans need.
He definitely simplified the question to how much volume do we need to fit the entire human population in it instead of how big the building needs to be to also make it possible for LIVING. ... and don’t forget if you’re taller than 1.63 you won’t even fit inside ... no heels for me I suppose
Yeah... I’d say 5 people per 15 square meters.
But seating people is different that people actually being able to live somewhere...
Sandy g.
Sandy g. He could've just multiplied the size of the alaskan building with 215 people living comfortably and multiply that to 7.6 billion
Imagine a fire
Reasons why we shouldn't do this:
Lag
Fire
Smell
Your Space
😂😂😂this is the exact reason why joint families do not exist anymore
Okay thank you I guess we will have to cancel this plan now
There would be no lag...
You forgot one thing. The maximum height is 256 blocks.

either china or India will build that cube by 2040
India? Really, my friend?
Help Me Reach 5000 Subscribes Without Any Video ask that when you compare India of today with china of 2005
India has a population of over billion people, still growin strongly. It's economy is skyrocketing proportionally as well.

But where do you put the Dutch
Our average length is 1.8m
They can have the penthouse :)
No it is average with kids so no
Same in Serbia
We take a bock with a height of 1.63 metres. Average Dutch person: *bumps their head
@Fatimah Al-Jazairi sad life
Imagine meeting everyone in the world just in 1 building
1.6m? Dude... You can't just make the ceiling height based on the average. That means 50% of the population have to constantly be bent over. That's not "fitting comfortably".
do at least then 2 meters
If you ever finish inside this building you are either dead or about to be harvested by aliens, so I don't think it really matters.
not to mention, where are you getting floors that are 0.0m in height?
Some floors (story) will be higher and some shorter. But the average height will be 1.63m. I'm more concern about the structural integrity of a finitely thin floors/ceilnig having to support the literal weight of humanity.
Or the tallest man to date

I suggest the novel series "the Expanse", the 5th book will disabuse you of the notion... there is always someone narcissistic & sociopathic enough to want to do something like this. And with the right technology, which even now we technically have... one can do it to the whole planet. It would hardly need everyone in a building.

I was scanned the comments looking for this. I was about to say this, nearly verbatim. ;p Glad to see someone else noticed that issue!
What if everybody in the world lived in 1 car?
idontpostmuch you will do a black hole becouse of density LOL
we are not in India
idontpostmuch dafq why am I laughing so hard??
+Der Kaiser Wilhelm II No, you're exaggerating. It would be a lot of density, but not enough for a black hole. Maybe a mini gravitational force.
Emir Tulumcu Emir Tulumcu its a joke...
Do you know how much crime would go on in there?
Nothing because you cant move there

“ayo what’s ur room number”
“1772 Floor 25”
“aight bet”
You will need to add a special small tower for the tallest people haha
TheFucktard69 yeah, I'd never fit into this. I s'pose you could have a range of ceiling heights and put all the little people together and all the tall people together.
Yeah, im not stayng in a 1,63 meter floor
TheFucktard69 Obviously, it still averages out to the same height though.. because that is the average height
so much for being 6"4
Guess I'll have to say goodbye to all my friends since most of them aren't that tall
This would just NOT work out
Shishter Shuck it’s just a theory
the building will collapse under its own weight, not to mention the weight of the world's population
Never knew the average height is that small :'D
*laughs in 1,85m*
2FaceTobi gtfo dwarf 2,05 here :-)
2.05 ._. Thats just unhealthy. I'm 1.88 and thats still iffy tall imo
Nice :D I don't wanna be that tall tho (1,90 would be nice but i already stopped growing ^^)
im not sure "unhealthy" would be the way to describe it
average human includes elderly people, kids and babies.
I think the idea of everyone living in one building (or in a small area) is really interesting. The rest of the world would just be nature and no people could interfere.
Density would’ve been absolutely insane, end we’d still require a huge chunk of the world for farmland and agriculture

2017 RRL: "completed by 2020."
me, in 2022:
He shifted from living comfortably to being packed.
Thank you! I was thinking about this as well like “but they won’t actually be able to live lives being packed that tight”
Liu Minghao I used to live in the building in Alaska and it’s way weirder than you think it’s literally on a mountain
couldnt be a cube though, 10 km in height isnt possible to build.
Puni Melt Yeah, my grandma lives there, it’s kinda weird
Lock the doors and start a fire.

Hans Bjorgman u have 12k subs and no vids... wtf
Where is judge dredd when you need him ?
+HansBj Why would the doors even be lockable?
everyone in building but no one prevented someone from locking all entrances simultaneously?
....why wouldnt there be safety precautions implemented since we already require in every new building..
That comment goes absolutely perfectly with your profile picture.
what if all the humans live in 1 planet?
Is called earth
No one care About your life no wtf
if so then we would be busy trying to nuke ourselves

Or what if they only lived on land?
Okay but like what if we had sections? Housing sections, food sections where we could grow everything, entertained sections where literally every form of entertainment is there, just lile have sections for everything so we know where we're going and can explore endlessly:) and we can create new sections as needed
