To avoid laddering on Magic Loop, knit the first stitch normally or loosely if you’re a tight knitter. Do not pull at all. After knitting the second stitch, pull the yarn tightly. This way you don’t have to travel.
So, true. Fabulous tip. I personally hated magic loop, because I didn’t have consistent results, even tightening the second stitch. Then, I recently discovered this extra little tip. The only thing I do differently is, with that first stitch, I make sure to bring it close to the last knitted/purled stitch on the back needle. No need to pull tight, just make sure to get it close, then do as suggested and tighten the second stitch. By doing this, for me, this not only prevents that first stitch from being pulled too tight/ too loose but, it also helps ensure there is no natural slack that could possibly develop between the first and last stitch. Once I started doing this (especially, with making ribbing look perfectly even as possible😊), I have never had a problem with magic loop ever again. I Hope this makes sense and could possibly be helpful to someone. 😊
@@heatherjohnson959 Thank you. I think I started doing the added tip intuitively at some point this year. Seeing that you do this and have success with it makes me feel good. I hope other knitters read this thread and benefit from these tips. :)
More than 15k of us enjoying your Podcasts!!! That is just amazing and so well deserved! Your projects are looking so good and I am looking forward to see Jonna's finished Shawl with all the colors together. Your sweaters look stunning and I agree that Jonna should wear it more. That fair isle piece is just timeless. Kim, the baby knits look so so sweet. I got so many hoops a while ago that have to be put to good use. My cutie and I embroidered when covid first started and we have not finished those projects. A project for a Snow day for sure. Thank you girls for the time you put into sharing so much beauty with us and to Felicia and Karen because their shop is full of inspiration.

It’s no surprise you’ve reached 15K viewers…you’re my favorite podcasters and I look forward with great anticipation each month for your episodes. Jonna, are you still crocheting your granny squares? I took inspiration from you, bit off a HUGE bite but I’m halfway through the 280(!) squares that Crochet Studio designed for me! I’m loving it so much.
Jonna I love your version of the Lunenburg sweater. I like that oversized look on you, but I do get if that's not how you like to wear garments. I have to say it was seeing yours in a previous episode that made me add it to favourites in Ravelry. Love your style. Congratulations ladies on you 15K
Congratulations on 15K that’s a grand achievement for sure. So happy to hear the sweater song too. I love both of your Lunenburg sweaters and your colour choices. ❤️
Hi Kim and Jonna. I absolutely love your Lunenburg sweaters and how they are the same but different - colours, ease, yoke depth. They look amazing on you both. Jonna, your Audrey Top is really elegant and I love the red Oslo hat. So pretty on you. Kim, your Papillon Shawl is incredible. Just like a stained-glass window. Love all your WIPs. And I absolutely love how you openly express your admiration for each other. I was smiling ear-to-ear and blushing hard in your "Favorite Things" segment, Jonna. I enjoy your podcast so much, it means a lot to hear you share such warm comments and me and mine. Thanks so much for keeping me company as i knit on my Anker Summer Shirt. Looking forward to the next episode. xx

Great episode!!! I was so happy Kim asked about the shawl/ soho wrap, haha! I kept wondering myself. I'm also on the "embrace your pace" wagon for the geo-gradient but I think it's stunning and I would love to learn those techniques. All the best! Kimberly
I love Twice Sheared Row Counters. I put a colored light bulb stitch marker on the number of the row(s) that needs something done - like increase or decrease.

I learned to knit as an exchange student in Germany. I came home with a bag of cotton fron Denmark and vague instructions to knit a front, a back, and 2 sleeves in a sweater shape. It was over 20 years before i picked that yarn back up and learned how to read a pattern

That’s great advice, and it’s how I avoid laddering in magic loop too. :)
I do that all the time and I never have ladders
