Hey guys, I been working on this animation off and on for like a term. I was having fun with frame by frame animation in combination with stop motion. Eventually, I hit a wall of... I dont want to do more lol.
Eventually, I will finish it. This is it so far, the part with the real people are placeholders. Enjoy!

I was pretty into anime and art in 2006 and I can confirm this is what pretty much everyone’s sketchbook looked like. This is the most authentic average high school art kid animation I have very seen. Obviously practiced, but not some hyper talented frea. Artist is impatient and not as confident as they will be some day, from the scratchy lines, unsure of what feature to stick with and not making the decision beforehand. So cool!!!

Damn this is quite the time capsule of an era that's no more. Even the scratchy angsty "scrawled on a school desk" art style is reminiscent of a time gone by.
Reminds me of the stereotypical “highschool experience” portrayed by cartoons and nickelodeon shows etc. in like the early to mid 2000’s. im class of 2022 and unfortunately my “highschool experience” was covid ruining 2.5 years of it, and the rest of the time it just lacked any vibe like this.

i'm in the middle of my teen years, and finding this video that was uploaded in 2008, 2 years after i was born, is trippy. the song and visuals rly represents youth, and it still is the same after every generation. the good old times back in 2008, must be the same feeling i'm experiencing now. this video is great, and i wish it was finished though because its honestly a really great video

The mix of emotions of finding this video randomly, the nostalgia for a high school experience I never had nor wanted, hearing this song for the first time when I'm not even into Weezer, realising how good it is, being frustrated that I can't write a song like this, and knowing how it exactly describes my life right now is a bit much.
Wow, the animation so far is really good. I love that sketchbook doodles style.

Watched 1 min, and realised wasn't even paying attention to the story or song. I was mesmerized by that animation, those transitions. I love this. I'm going on a journey to pursue animation on my own and this came at the right time. Its not The final push, but its is one of all the pushes that together form the will to pursue a dream.
I really just miss old youtube. Like this right here was a passion project. Now people dont do this stuff because it's not profitable and it's really just sad how hard it is to find people like that. Love it tho 💙

just found this 'cos of myspace weezer bulletin. excellent video. like the simple 'doodle' style of the drawings yet the characters emote very well (i can tell you really know how to draw). love the 'take on me' style of animation-makes me think this is a diary come to life. more music videos could use this kind of creativity.i vote for the photos drawn in detail, some rotoscoped sketch animation would look cool too! nice job for everyone's favorite =w= b-side!

Exact year I threw out the actual love of my dreams. Never got over it. Never found someone as pure as them. I’m so sorry to young me for numbing the pain with tar and ruining my young body and mind. I wish I could find someone that made me feel special again. I think I missed out and I just have to live with everything I’ve done to myself.
I'm going through a similar thing right now. I'm sorry that that happened to you but I suppose you just have to remember that there's a plan for you. I get nervous that I'll be lonely forever without her but I'll just have to keep the faith. God bless.

@@bornanagaming3329 Pretty sure they meant like for its time being uploaded to the internet, it is uncommon for people to upload animations in 2008 even then it is pretty bad since compression and quality of the video wasn't very good during early 2000s, even as simple as uploading a video can take a while due to bad internet connections.
I discovered this song in 2016 and have somehow never encountered this video until now....This is so awesome!
