    Great video.
    Two things
    1. Barrels definitely not bear proof. Keep a clean camp and take the barrel well away from camp at night. I’ve seen people string them up trees but my experience (and that of many others) is simply getting the barrel well away from camp and relatively hidden is enough.
    2. You can have 9 people on a site in Algonquin.
    A great section of the park, and a well done video.

    I've canoed this section of the river (plus the upstream section from Cedar Lake). This remains one of the best pleasures in my life.

    • @PaddleTV

      Mine too! I haven't canoed the upstream section yet. I'm dying too! I did whitewater kayak it at high water by hiking up the railroad from Traverse Lake, but that was just a day trip, and I only made it about half way to Cedar Lake before launching.

      I would love to do that paddling guide! I haven't actually done that whole section yet. I've hiked up the rail bed with my whitewater kayak to run the core whitewater section of it, but I can't wait to run the Petawawa from Cedar lake all the way to McManus Lake!

    How was the experience of portaging the trails carrying the raft and kayaks? Did it take 2 people to carry together? I'd love to figure out a way to over head carry my kayak like a canoe.

    • @PaddleTV
      @PaddleTV  3 роки тому

      We actually didn't have to do any portaging with the kayaks or rafts. We ran them through all the rapids. All three of us are long time whitewater paddlers, and so we were very comfortable doing that. I can tell you that it would have been pretty crappy to portage the sit-on-top kayaks or the raft. That's the joy of the canoe... it's easy to portage and carry gear.
