Just watched yet again and considering a "Springbreak " for one of My Dads Custom 1911's 5 inch with a Squared Trigger Guard! ';-)
FYI. Springbreak are at least another year out before Sam can make any.
The term ounces came from the garment and textile industry referring to fabric weight and somehow migrated into the hide industry.

Hank, can you ask Sam if he’d be willing to do a video on how to make holsters with the tough exotic hides like stingray and crocodile hides. He’s a phenomenal craftsman and his videos are very educational. Thanks for another great video.

Awesome work as always mr. Andrews just a quick question I was always told suede lining would affect the metal on the gun do you use a different type of suede thank you for your time.
Tim I'm a leathersmith myself and ran across your comment. I don't do holsters unless requested but I'm a gun enthusiast so that's why I'm here. In case Mr Andrews doesn't reply, yes suede can be a problem for blued guns. SS and the black coating like on a glock its not much of an issue. Suede is a chrome tanned leather which is a salt solution...salt and metal you can guess why that's bad. The other option for lining is thinner veg tanned leather like he used on the outside. Adds to the cost but worth it
