The production company wanted to upgrade mathilda so they told the teams that she was fair game to be attacked (for the spectacle), of course the rest of the house robot drivers joined in for the fun.

Honestly the house robots were all quite weak. Just for show, but not much behind them. I think they all would have lost against bots like Razer or Hypno-Disc in a 1:1
Yeah, and Sir Killalot is basically the "Big Bad" of the House Robots, he's *the* House Bot, and the one House Bot you don't want to tangle with, most teams would probably gladly tangle with any House Bot *other* than Killalot.
Kyle Yeah Dead Metal to me has always been the most deadly of all the robots ever on robot wars. I think they should have made him the big bad of the house robots, but just because sir killalot was bigger people assumed he was the leader.
This was a huge showcase of just HOW deadly Razer's beak was. That level of crushing power meant all it needed was a proper puncturing angle and it would crush nearly anything. Only Killalot is realistically able to resist it by virtue of his size and weight. Team Razer also had a deal with onslaught not to cause too much damage to their machine, if the battle went in their favor, as they respected the engineering in it. That and Matilda getting a little aggressive with Razer caused them to decide that the nearest target (her) was going to be an outlet for that anger at being spat at by her.
loved this. brings back so many happy memories. My dad, brother and I would watch robot wars every week. tears of laughter when razor destroyed Matilda, then at the end when she came back into arena all bandaged up.

The reason none of the other house bots helped was because i believe it was arranged beforehand for Matilda to get destroyed by Razer because she was just terrible and needed a redesign. So thought it would make good TV to have her destroyed by a robot instead of just her turning up with a new design from nowhere.
cooknaris Vinny Blood of the Razer team said that they were allowed to destroy Matilda if they wanted to so they could rebuild her with the new flywheel.
I remember going to see Robot Wars with my dad, and in the parts where they audience the team, Fetus Matt won a T shirt with Sgt Bash on that said Rust in Pieces... Good times and totally worth a 4 hour car drive to Nottingham...
Matilda was - and still is - My favorite House Robot, but I had to laugh at this! Espically when she reappeared at the end covered in bandages! Even Sir Killalot was scared of Razor - Excellent.
One of the greatest moments in RW history. I was just sitting and waited for Sir Killalot to save Matilda but he didnt xD Razer such an awesome robot. along with Chaos 2 and Hypnodisk they are the greatest.
Sir Killalot knew that he had two choices. A: Team up with Razer to kill Matilda......or B: End up being turned into a metallic piece of swiss cheese like Matilda.
I remember the guys from Razer came to my school fete and had it on a table. A beautiful piece of work. Still looks awesome now -Lamborghini level design

Flippers in general can always self-write themselves (flip themselves back), thus why I hate flippers in general (I mean, look at the ring outs...)
chaos 2 was only really powerful when it first showed up, from series 6 and onwards it was really outclassed . it had plenty of weaknesses, its flipper was increasingly outclassed as time went on, it had limited CO2 supply compared to other flipper bots and its armour wasnt that impressive either (just look at what happened against 13 Black). that said, it's definitely amongst the greats simply due to its early record.
In one of the lastest episodes of robot wars extreeme, 'Flipper Frenzy' they were all ganging up on sargent bash and they were PWNING him! They flipped him out and ripped his flame thrower off! It was LOL!

personally as a team we took on anything that we were put up against, part of competing in any challenge is to have a go and giving it your best, one of the most satisfying thing's is coming out of a fight in one piece against a well respected robot like Razor. If your not willing to take on any robot that you are out classed against, it's not worth you being in the competition. the morale of the story is take on the best while you have a fresh robot and stand the better chance against the hight profile robot's. Also you will always be remembered as going out in style lol.
When Tornado beat Razor because it put on a framework that prevented the beak from reaching it, I was enraged as that was just base cheating in my view. At some point, everyone just began using weapons that could immobilise rather than destroy... flippers. I think there was a collective feeling of preserving their creations. That was why I liked teams that faced Hypno-Disc in the early days, they took annihilation in good humour. I miss Robot Wars.
Razer wasn't even around at the start of Robot Wars. It was one of my favourites too but using throwaway statements like that shows that you don't really know that much about these bots.
Ive seen razer and the team. I know that 1cm steel plate it's impervious to the blade and it only made a little mark, but building a robot out of this is hard to stay in weight limits at 80kg/m^2
I believe Cassius Chrome was dumped in the pit, upside down, during the House Robot Rebellion against Behemoth and Gravity, but was released at some point and returned to the attack. Releasing the Refbot from the pit was understandable... you can't knock out the referee!
man i used to love this show i never missed an episode it inspired me to make my own robot then it all of a sudden went off the air i hope your not lying and it actually is coming back
Razor is the favourite it's so bad 2016 she was knocked unconscious at the start. I think the knockout start rounds don't really give robots a chance to fight.just one mistake at the beginning its over where as after that they can fight & lose a couple more times before there proven out. One big thing wrong with 2016 robot wars is the camera work is atrocious the fight is hard to follow they keep flicking about different cameras too much & irrelevant things like the back of the roboteers heads in the middle of the action...just pleas stay 90% on the battle with more than 2 seconds per camera swap.

I noticed that as the series progressed, everyone reinforced their bots against Hypnodisc and the destruction we loved it for was diminished. I think only an American team built a bot resistant to Razor and that was because they could afford solid titanium.
Colin Hawley Apparently they were scheduled to face each other in one of the Extreme series but both teams decided it wouldn't be worth the inevitable damage to both robots. Pity, really.

Dead metal never did any damage though. Lots of sparks and cosmetic damage but the saw never did much.
