- In this tutorial, I will show you how to crochet this dainty mini storage basket for your accessories. It is practical and also a great way to decorate your desk, your dressing table, or your bedside table.
This beginner-friendly crochet project uses only 11 to 12 grams of yarn, so here is your chance to use up that scrap yarn! It also takes only a few minutes to crochet this basket for yourself or as a gift for your loved ones.
What I used:
Yarn: Size 3, light worsted weight (DK) 8 ply 100% cotton yarn
Hook size: 3.5mm
This project uses the magic circle technique. You can find a tutorial for this technique here:

Other skills required for this project (US terms used):
- chain stitches
- single crochet
- double crochet
- slip stitch

This is the first time in three months that I have been able to finish a project using stitch markers, and I am SO grateful and appreciative of this video for better understanding and guidance!! Thank you so much x
This was my first crochet project. Lost count of the number of times I've mucked it up and had to undo it, but it's finished and beautiful. This tutorial was perfect and super beginner friendly
I’m relatively new to crochet, started about a month or so ago, and this tutorial is by far the easiest to follow that I’ve come across. I don’t usually comment on videos but I wanted to say thank you for going step by step and showing everything carefully and clearly :) I checked out your other videos and am excited to try them out!! :)
Nice! Made a basket for my crystals! Easy follow along instructions and end result matched.
My first basket/bowl. It came out great!
I'm terrible at crocheting baskets, but this one turned out okay. Thank you!
Followed along with you. Such clear instructions. Came out so pretty. Love it. Thanks and best wishes from New Zealand 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much for your very clear directions. You are a fantastic teacher. I will be following more of you tutorials.
This is such a pretty basket and works up quickly! I am making a few for Teacher gifts
Just got back to crocheting after stumbling upon your page. Love your tutorials. The step by step makes it easy to follow along. Thank you so much for sharing.
I love your videos. Its the second I watch and you show all the way through. It is easy to follow and you don't get frustrated.
I was working with 2 yarns and it wasn't difficult at all.
Well done I love your work 😊😊

Easy to follow and I love your voice. I’m new to crocheting but you make it seem so easy.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING ❤️
Thanks for this easy tutorial. I've been crocheting for just over 50 years and until now have never done a basket, or really, anything small or quick to work up. :) This was a nice change from the afghans and other more time consuming projects.
super cute!
Pretty ❤

Oh and btw can you also make a written pattern?
Im new to your channal to i made this little basket ,its sweet ,Im going to make these for christmas this year and put candy in the basket it is nice, i have some sparkly christmas yarn iam going to make them with that/thankyou for sharing with us, god bless have a fantastic day;
I love this little basket so much. Thank you for your clear instructions and for sharing. I do hope you continue to upload more tutorials. One suggestion, in my opinion the background music is unnecessary, and I actually find it distracting. Your calming voice is perfect, you don't need the music. Thank you!
thanks for sharing this cute crochet bowl. I made one to put candies in them. Just that my base tend to curl/ or end up a little wavy. still need to practise more .
Great idea! And if your piece is curling/getting wavy, you may be crocheting just a little too tightly. Try loosening your tension a little, and you can also try going up in hook size :)
Check your stitch count, too many stitches will also make it wavy
If we were using your yarn yes the size but I'm using a different size everything. It's not necessary to mark where you put your last stitch since it's the first and it's sticking up.
But for those that aren't experienced then maybe you should. I'm making this basket to hold hearts
great vid! but what pattern should u do if i want a bigger base (the one before the body) ?
Just found You! You are awesome! Made this cute little basket tonight! You have a new subscriber! Keep them coming! Haven't checked all your posts yet. Do you have bigger baskets?
It came out perfect thank you!!!!🥰
Would this work well using worsted weight acrylic yarn or is cotten best to keep it stiff and upright?
Lovely Basket Maam. 👌👌
Thank You. You explain it very nicely.
Maam can you please show some design in Big Size Basket where we can put Flowers for show.
Thank You 🙏
Regards Roshni ❤
I made this and I love the pattern and the way you explain everything! Yours is so pretty but mine didn't turn out very good :( it's not deep and sturdy like yours and the edges are not going straight up but curling outwards. Overall it just feels loose and looks more like a weird coaster😅 This is the second time I've made a bowl and this was also the case with my first one. I've used size 4-5 cotton yarn and a 4mm hook. I counted the right amount of stitches with every row but maybe I overlooked? Also just to be sure, is the side with the magic ring tail the inside or the outside? Thank you for your hard work 💗
Hi! Thank you for your comments. Because I'm not able to see your work, it's difficult to say what caused the problem. But I'm guessing that the edges of your bowl are curling outwards because you may have forgotten to turn your work at the beginning of one or more of the rounds. I suggest you take another look at the video to see which rounds require you to turn your work ;)
- When you turn your work to begin Round 5, the side with the magic ring tail will end up facing away from you - that's the inside of the bowl.
- You begin Rounds 6 through 8 without turning your work. But to begin the final round (Round 9), you have to turn your work, so check whether you've done this! The wrong side of your dc stitches in this final round should be facing out.
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask more questions if you need to :)
Hi, if I want to use the same pattern to make a larger basket ( about 10cms base), which are the rows i will need to increase the stitches and with which stitches would you recommend?. Thanks.
Hi, you can either use larger yarn to make this basket, or you can add another row to the base, and also add one more row of all SCs to the body of the basket.
what stitch is this please
written pattern?
Hii Caylene please make tutorial book cover and bottle holder. Tks
I will consider! Thanks😊
Would this pattern work with size 4 yarn?
Yes, that’s fine. You’ll get a slightly bigger basket :)
