I feel like you are specifically talking to me. I understand that encouraging positive behavior rather than bad once beneficial. However, I felt like bad behavior also needed attention to redirecting and to be heard. I like the way you worded it, and I feel connected with you.
Hi, I'm from India and I'm a mum of 6 yrs old boy who has ADHD. I use to search ADHD related videos almost everyday. But , finally I found you today and your tips seem very relevant to me. From today onwards I'm gonna follow your footsteps in parenting my boy with ADHD. Thank you so much and yes, I've subscribed you.
Yes! Yes! Yes! 🙌🏼 As a fellow special needs mama with both kiddos on the spectrum, I say this often...we can’t really control their reaction during a meltdown, but we can control how we react to them! Makes a world of difference. And of course I’ve been guilty of this several times in the past myself. Focusing on their emotional age, truly helps guides us in our responses. Thank you again for sharing such valuable videos.
Thanks, my friend! It truly is a daily practice of mindful connection. Sometimes I tell the kids that I’m just as old a mom as my eldest. So in mom-years, I’m still a little kid. Just learning and growing alongside them. 💚
as someone with ADHD i love this video and agree i just want to add for all the parents out there if you ever yelled at your child or anything its ok we all make mistakes we just need to learn to fix them and it might not be easy for some of us but you got this
It definitely tends too get difficult on the way my husband and I deal with his meltdowns. Seeing this video and the way you explain how to deal I learn so much. I want to thank you🙏🏽
Ahhh! So crazy, I was checking out your video just to calm myself down while my husband worked with my son.... because my son just had a melt down! We just found out Friday, my son does have ADHD, dyspraxia, OCD, and anxiety disorder. Thank you for this, I will be watching a few times.
It’s not easy to work on ourselves, but it’s so worth the time and effort. I’m happy this resonated - I sometimes listen to these videos again to calm and remind myself of the end goals. 💚
Absolutely superb, per usual.... special win was narrating what you see. I frequently remind my parent-self, “I control me. No one else controls me. Love teaches me how to react to every person, in every situation, every single time. Self control is the most healthy form of control because it is free of fear.” This video was excellent, Tanya! I am so going to borrow your ‘love is the sky’ metaphor. Hurrah for empowered parents!
I can't figure out which first video you are referring to in your playlist. can you help me out? These are so helpful, can't wait to try out your tips. I have Adhd too so when my kiddo melts down, I usually melt down right along with him.
My step son has ADHD he is 5, we're new to this diagnosis and our biggest issue is that he has trouble with his speech he doesn't know what words to use to describe his emotions. I try to let him know I'm there for him.... He cannot explain why. Do you have any tips for us? We're truly at a loss I've done so much research and came across you...I have a daughter who is 4 and she isn't like that, I just want to be able to understand him better because it kills me to see him struggle so much.
That is totally understandable, mama. We have ALL been there. You matter. Your feelings matter. We can do better and learn more and practice being our best selves, but sometimes we can’t manage our emotions and that is HUMAN. We are growing, just as our kids are. Big hugs.
Love this. I’m trying to learn to ask myself am how I deal with will lead to Convection or condemnation? Will how I react lead my child to repentance or rebellion? Will I build our relationship or tear it down?
Love and support nurture strong souls, just as rich soil and stakes nurture plants to grow. Good luck to you - I hope you have love and support on your journey as well.
That's a great way of putting it: "feeling and fights are the weather, and love is the sky". I'm going to use this!
I’m glad it resonated! I find that the kids can understand the simple imagery.
instablaster.
It's given me tears ♥️ so beautiful

Me, too. It’s a daily practice - a commitment to grow alongside our kids. 💚
