I’ve had the privilege of seeing Wicked twice now, once in 2008 in Dallas, and again in 2017 on Broadway. I didn’t remember from seeing it the first time that one of the monkeys took flight above the audience, either bc of time gap between attended performances or bc I was in the rear mezzanine the first time. However, I sat 3rd row from the stage when seeing it last year on Broadway, and was in total awe of the Gorgeous and intricate detailing in the monkey costumes. Then that monkey took flight. It caught me off guard and startled me to the point I felt I almost left a puddle under my seat. I still laugh at myself for being so jumpy, but Oz certainly has a way of leaving a mark on everyone who visits in some capacity.
The monkeys don't fly above the audience on the Wicked tour so you were rightfully surprised.

I would love to be able to play that part. It is just amazing. The wings, the costumes, and the jumping around it is just awesome.

@OfficialWICKED I learned that there is so much work put into an effect. It's so amazing,so much effort was put into disguising the creatures in oz grew the wings! Outstanding work!

No, he's never been in Wicked, and only on Broadway once.. But he was Harry Potter in "A Very Potter Musical."

I’ve been trying to work out very similar wings for a few years, for Mardi Gras. The mechanical part has me in fits, good to know it’s possible.
Going to see this for the second time with my school at the end of January. (: Now that I know the behind the scenes stuff it'll be interesting to watch it again.

@outlanderfrog you are correct that he was in a very porter musical however you are mistaken he has appeared on broadway since being on glee, he started in the musical "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" for a limited engagement, ironically replacing Daniel Radcliffe. I would suggest reading up on your facts next time;-)
When is WICKEDe Blu gonna come to Charlotte, North Carolina? I saw it a few years ago at the Blumenthal Theater in Charlotte. I wanna see it again!!!
