@@paigelivesay2977 man, that thing was so loud i had cover my ears twice, and at the end of defying gravity as well, my ears was ringing when Stephanie J Block did her battle cry
My family just visited NYC recently in February and got to see me and my brother’s first Broadway show and the Oz Head has got to be my absolute favourite part! 💚
As soon as the oz head came in and began to move and talk I actually crapped myself. It was so unexpected that I literally grabbed into my friends arm!
We saw Wicked during the summer of 2015 and it was amazing! However, the Oz head scared me for a good 5 seconds and looked super creepy and was super loud. I lost my hearing and we were in the last row of the first area of seats in the front and I couldn't hear for the rest of the night, but, that's show biz. Gotta entertain your guests with freaky and loud stuff. I would FLY to see Wicked again in a HEARTBEAT! (No pun intended on the Tinman and Elpheba.)
I saw Wicked last night and even though I could only see about 2/3rds of the stage I was close enough to experience how LOUD & TERRIFYING this Oz Head is up close!!! 😭 You truly feel the rumble of the actor's voice through your body & combined with how fluid & animated the puppeteering is it genuinely made me feel scared
you have no idea how scared i was of this thing. when i saw it in sydney with my school, and again with my best friend, i couldnt stop shaking. i actually got teary haha i think it had to do with my fear of robots lol
Saw wicked when I was maybe 10 years old, we had to leave at intermission because of how terrified I was of oz😭 amazing work. So loud and terrifying lmao
This is always something that has really confused me- The wizard head is so formidably loud and overwhelming its frightening and the voice is super creepy, but at the same time it totally fascinates me and I just remember thinking "this thing is so cool." Is there a word for that?? Maybe its a combination of how intimidating it is, but also the fact that I'm sitting comfortably in a theatre seat.
I was lucky to have a friend on the Lighting Crew here in SF for the Sitdown in 2009...for my birthday and get to go backstage and see how small the oz head really is! I got to turn on the Gypsy light as a fitting end to a very Wicked Birthday!
Hey! Im just really curious on how they strike and change sets so quickly does it use stagehands? Are there cranks? If there is ever a video on it that'd be great!!
the head is so unbelievably loud. it really does fill the whole room.
it's the loudest thing in the whole show lol
@@whodatninja439 they succeeded at making it terrifying for sure

Watched Wicked the other day - the head didn't scare me, but it did break my ears considering it was a lot louder than the rest of it.

The only thing that freaked me out in this musical were those clown bobble head guys. WTF are those things?
They're a race of people called the "Hammer-Heads" that appeared in the original Wizard Of Oz novel.
do something with Elphaba and Glinda....anything. Maybe even film the process of the "Elphaba Dash" for "No Good Deed" orrrr something
Have the 5th anniversary Wicked with orig cast with Chenowith and Menzel
What about the melting scene?
WickedWizard

Pardon me, but what is that supposed to mean?
if you search defying gravity with stephanie j block, she did one for cbs news

But ti's still amazing.
Anyone else think Anthony Galde looks like Neil Patrick Harris?
