You’re so welcome David & Ruth. It’s a lot of work but I enjoy it so much now I know what I’m doing, and lovely that we can share it with so many people 😊
I know I've commented on your boat, but it really is one of the prettier boat on the canal system! Trust me, I watch all you guys! Also, your videos are so relaxing to watch! Speaks volumes for the kind of people you guys are!
Wow, thank you Keith! That’s so lovely to hear and very reassuring. It’s been a steep old learning curve figuring out the filming and editing and finding our own groove 😊
I've finally caught up. Watched all 100 and the last one is lovely. I'm addicted and can now join those who can't wait for the next one. Thank you so much for all the effort you make to share your voyages with us.
It really was Roger! Boats to share the locks, with lovely people on board, some extra pairs of hands to help. Made it a very smooth journey for sure, and always good to hear you enjoyed it 😊
Ive been watching this channel for a while now, and find it amazing that there are so many canals and places to go on your narrowboat. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, and my province is over 5 times the size of just England. I think Saskatchewan is small, and although England can sit in a small corner of Sask, you have so many locations you pass through and that you mention along the canals... so many towns, cities and places to visit... and cant see how you fit them all in! Would love to visit someday and take a canal tour.
We can highly recommend it! When we lived in Texas we often marvelled at how large it was compared to the UK, and Canada is just on another scale! It really is a lovely way to explore the UK 😊
I remember the meeting up from Julie's vlog from a while back. That is such a pretty area and looks like a fun place to stay for a while. The castle looks fun and I enjoyed Wes and Amy's visit there. It will be interesting to see a different perspective. 🍁Well, it is definitely Indiana fall. 🍂 70 degrees, windy and raining because of the hurricane that hit Florida last night. It was a bad one. 🥺 Have a great week. ❤
You’re right Dorothy, Warwick is a great place to visit and we are glad we decided to go back and do the trip again, after we had to rush it last year was my dad was so ill. I love seeing everyone’s different takes on the same trip or place to visit, and it just shows that there is room for lots of vloggers each with their own style. Thanks for watching as always and stay safe 😊
WOW 100 Episodes and 18.1k viewers. Congratulations from across the pond in Pennsylvania.I throughly enjoy your Vlogs and how genuine you both are and what a lovely Narrowboat. I would be stopping at every Pub, love Pubs and it is one of the things I miss most from the days I lived in the UK ! Also McVites Jaffa Cakes
Thank you so much for such lovely words! And you’re right, you can’t beat Jaffa Cakes. They were always on our list for visitors to bring when we lived in Texas! 😊
Hey you two Caroline and Pete, hope you are both well ❤️🩹 ? Really enjoyed this video, but I bet you are both well tired. Take care ❤ X X X 💋's for Hamish and Poppy X X X .
@@onedaymoreaboard Yes am better thank you, when I go down to my mom's which is nearly every Friday, I show her your video 's she enjoys that too. X X X
Fab vlog yet again Caroline. So well put together, really professional, great backing music, different tempos at different points 😊😊 I can’t praise you enough how well these are put together. Thanks for sharing your adventures and all the info. Two years ago I stopped at the Blue Lias and The Two Boats. Both great pubs. The pub half way up Hatton locks is great too. Wishing you and Pete (and hamish and poppy) many more lovely miles along the cut 😊😊😊 I really need to pull the trigger and sell up and make the move to water 😊😊
Glad we can bring back some lovely memories Dave, and thank you so much for the wonderful comments. It’s means such a lot, and reassurance that we are doing something right 😊
Thank you for the lovely video. Always great 'cruising' with you. Lots of turns cranking those handles in the locks. Hope the family / puppies and you are doing well. Spinner
You’re so welcome Spinner! I can’t imagine how many rotations of the windlass there were that day! We have even more coming up in the next few videos as we tackle the Hatton flight with another 21 locks and those same hydraulic paddles 😳
Good morning Pete and Caroline we love your videos we are from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 a question for Pete isn’t it possible to have an elevated seating position so that you can sit while steering instead of standing all day. Seems so me so tired to stand all day. Cheers 🥂 from the Netherlands and keep on doing the good work
Pete says he feels more in control and able to respond more quickly when he’s standing, and says it really doesn’t bother him to be standing all the time. Sometimes we see people sitting at the tiller, but most often they are standing. Thanks for watching and it’s lovely to hear that you are enjoying the videos 😊
That looked like hard work doing that paddle at "button lock". Some of those locks could do with a coat of paint, nice therapeutic job for some volunteers.
Hi Caroline. I'm going to have a boat built...wooohooo! Can I ask what colour yours is and, if you were to ever buy a new one, what, if anything would you change. Dawn xx
That’s so exciting Dawn! Our boat colour is Pastel Turquoise RAL 6034. If there ever was another boat in our future we think we may consider a semi-cruiser stern with seating ahead of the tiller arm arc, so easier for those not at the helm to sit while cruising, and perhaps a kingsize bed in the bow, instead of the kingsize cross end we have. But then you lose your well deck. These are options which have become more commonplace in the 3 years since we had our boat built. We have said though that there is no such thing as the perfect boat, as there are always compromises to be made in such a limited space. Good luck with your build! 😊
@onedaymoreaboard Hi Caroline. Thanks so much for responding! I'm having 58ft, enclosed bow with a semi cruiser stern..your absolutely right, no such thing as perfect but I hope I'm near enough. The colour is one of my biggest unknowns. Love yours but also in the brain is a silver. Going to call her Doodles after my old horse. Abbey Doodles...keep the videos coming, love watching your adventures with the Highland crew..xx
That’s a wonderfully personal name. We love to find out the story behind boat names. Our first choice colour, or so we thought, was some sort of shade of silvery grey. We were then notified we had 24 hours to finalise our colour choice or we would lose our paint slot and saw the turquoise colour on line and just went with it! No regrets, and we get so many wonderful comments about our colour 😊
It’s all got a bit crazy this year hasn’t it, quite noticeably so! Hard to see around corners and hard to find mooring spots in very overgrown areas sadly. Thanks for watching 😊
We actually have quite a lot of hidden storage space that we use for food, for example, canned goods in the steps up to the stern deck, and pull out larder shelves in the kitchen, but quite a small fridge for items that need refrigerating. We also added baskets to the walls to store vegetables under the gunwales. So all that being said, we can shop easily for a week and fit it all in, but we do tend to shop little and often rather than do big shops 😊
Hi Billy, we have a 6ft 10 ceiling height on our boat, and have a 6ft 4 slightly portly friend who navigates his own boat fine. But I would check with the hire boat companies what their roof height is. Ours is quite generous, without us even realising until we have been on other boats 😊
I would find myself wondering 'why?' am I going to this place or that - it's all so much the same, and a bit pointless unless you have a reason to go there IMO ! I'd rather find a nice location & spend the max time there between moves - 2 week intervals maybe ! Those locks would drive me up the wall - I'd rather spend time where there were NO locks & avoid them as much as possible ! I don't think this is a life I would take to long term - maybe one season & done !
When we hire out of Kate Boats at Stockton Top we use the launderette in Leamington Spa after the cruise. It like the town a lot. We often stay in Warwick and The Cape of Good Hope is our favorite place to eat either by car or by boat.
We still haven’t eaten at the Cape, but we stopped for a drink there last time when we were in Warwick. We are meeting friends near Hatton locks next week though so think we will suggest we have a meal there. I love that we can bring we lots of memories for you with our videos! 😊
Great vid Caroline so relaxing watching with the music you choose to accompany it. Thank you for taking the time to produce it. ❤

I loved this one! Pete seems to be a man of very few words. :).
On camera he has far fewer words than in real life! And always wise words, as he will tell you 😂. Thanks for watching 😊
Very calming and relaxing before hubby has a hip replacement tomorrow morning.!!
Fingers crossed for both of you for tomorrow 🤞

With I presume limited food storage space. How many days can you go before you need a supermarket or farm shop?
