Thanks brother, this fixed my TJ today. Exact same part, passenger side. Got the same part from Advanced Auto and it cost me double what yours did. But, my problem is fixed an that's what matters. Perfect video for this issue.
Hi Mike have 1997 TJ Jeep with this problem could you advise me the part number for the socket replacement.... I can't find one anywhere here in Canada... Thank you so much....
In the interest of public content improvements, I'll state the obvious.. first, it's nonsensical to remove the turn signal unit, WHEN the bulb is right in the OPEN under the fender!? And second, this content could've been done in 1/2 the time. Oh, and please.. these one handed mechanic vids drive me mad, if you're going to be serious about this, spend $20 for a tripod so you can use your handS... otherwise, you did correctly diagnose and fixed the problem..
I’m an original owner of a spec-ordered 1997 TJ Sport….146K on the clock. I live in New England…..winters are hell on cars up here…..and recently, I’ve started experiencing electrical gremlins. My turn signals (both left and right) do this intermittently. Investigating, I found that both of those sockets have worn down, to the point that the bulb doesn’t seat as tightly as it should. I have rigged them so that the signals work, but in heavy rain or snow, they frequently loosen or go out….simply not dependable. I had no idea that I could change the sockets out, figuring MOPAR probably doesn’t make these things for a 25 year old model anymore. Thank you, amigo….I’ll start a search for replacements…..to both you, and your helper, Zeus!
I have the same problem with my 03 Wrangler TJ except it's the driver side rear tail light out. I pulled off the globe and the bulb is OK. There's no socket behind just wires that lead up to the front under the hood. Any idea how to fix this?
Can you use a meter tester instead? This video may have solved my problem .. all bulbs work on mine change out the flasher reply twice but when I turn on my left signal my speedometer blinks as do all of lights on the outside (not headlights) my right side turn signal is good and so is my breaking lights .. thanks for any feedback and your time
Hmm I am really not sure about that probably. Let me see if I understand. When you turn you left indicator light on your dash blinks instead of your turning signal?
@@djadamt I'm not really sure. Could possibly be a wiring issues. Like the wires for you odometer has some wires going to the left turning signal. I'm not really sure. Sorry wish I could of helped better.
@@thomaslovell6087 (I do realize that this was 9 years ago) reason I was looking up hyperflash is my Jeep has leds in the rear taillights. My fix was getting a new flasher made for leds and that fixed my issue.
@@DOOLEY1216 Fortunately it was just the bulb. I was sweating that since I'm in an 03 TJ, it's not getting any younger. Got 2 for 8$ at Advance Auto. Done and done!
Dam only video that had same problem as me! Saved me a lot of money from having to take it to electrican
Hoped it helped.
Good job.. thanks for the info.
This was the most helpful tutorial I could find on the issue. The process worked even though I have a 2007 rubicon, fixed in 10 minutes thanks.
Glad it helped!

Yeah I should have but if I remember correctly I was waiting on the housing to actually come in.
Nice video but I thought your not suppose to touch the light bulb with your fingers.😄
If your Jeeps having this problem one of the brake light housings has a ground that can just be cleaned sometimes that fixes the problem.
great video, just what I was looking for,,

I see a lot of light shining over that rear turn signal Brother.
Thank you so much.. I just bought a whole new light set and bulbs. Lol, I didn't know I could just get bulbs.
What was the part number of the part you replaced? I believe I need the same part. Thank you!
I wish I could help you but sadly I don't have my jeep anymore. But if you remove the part and take it to a parts house I'm sure they can help you.
Thanx

You need to fix your lens. It’s letting water in and corroding your connections!
