Wow, without speculating too much, Asher must have settled the Mediterranean while Dan settled Europe. Dan is the I1 paternal haplogroup and Asher is the I2 paternal haplogroup. I found it hard to accept that Dan was both I1 and I2 since the lineages are entirely separate. Asher being identified with Phoenicians just sealed the case. Pr. Melissa Scott, the Phoenician genetic paternal hg signature is, T, G, R1b, I1, I2, J1, J2, E and B, basically entirely Mediterranean. How do I know? because that is also the paternal haplogroups often found in Native Americans especially in the area of the ancient copper mines of the Great Lakes and it's the reason they have an appearance of Hebrews in North America, especially in the United States.
