@@TiffanyLeehey there, i know this video and comment is very old, but did you not do an honours bachelor’s degree before being admitted to your masters? i live in canada and sadly the school psych program in my province (manitoba) requires an honours BA or BSc degree
Hi! I'm really new to Educational/School Psychology as a career but I feel like this could be the perfect career for me! I know school counsellors interact with children mostly but do school psychologists also get the opportunity to do this? What does most of their day consist of? Great video!
our job is a blend of working with children, parents, and staff members. you can definitely prioritize having more face-to-face time with students, but you can also choose to distance yourself from those kind of activities and interactions. every day is truly different! you should check out some of my day in the life videos for more insight :-) thanks so much for watching! ❤️
Hey! When you go to observe a student in their class do they know that you are doing an observation on them? Also could you do a more in depth video on report writing and behaviour observation thank you 🙂
Hi!! I try to be super discreet and email the teacher to make sure there’s a seat for me in the corner of the room. I also try to observe before ever interacting with the student so hopefully they have no idea I’m there for them 😊 I can try to do a report writing an bx obs video! Still an area of improvement for me but I have some tips and thoughts 👍🏻
@@221vballgirl I have heard it one extreme or another. Either someone has applied to 15+ or just 1. I just want to know before turning in a million and one applications. lol
It’s completely dependent on your personal circumstances and situation. Applications are time consuming and expensive! I usually recommend 2-3 programs but if you’re set on only one program, obviously only apply to that 1 school. I’ve heard of others applying to 10+ which gives you options if you get accepted but if your app is lacking, you’ll have to take a year or two to gain more experience/make your app more competitive and reapply. For this reason, I don’t recommend applying to too many.
I lowballed it and only applied to one. I was already in undergrad at my university and really only wanted to attend a grad program that was local. Some of my cohort members applied to a handful though. So it’s really up to you and what you want! Best of luck!!
I finished my practicum last school year. Everything you said was spot on, and I, too, had the same experience. Thank you for sharing!! :)
Thanks so much for watching! Good luck with your next year 🥰
Yasssss more ASMR!!!
Ty!! 💞
Hi, I was wondering did you do any research programs before applying to grad school? Or is that only for anyone interested in a PHD?
I didn't do any research prior to grad school. It's not necessary for EdS programs but highly recommended for PhD programs
