The five Doctors I think can be considered a cyberman story, their presence plays such an important role within the plot and I think that it should be considered a story to be counted for all of the doctors who took part in that story (except Tom Baker) and especially Pertwee-he was the Doctor most involved with the cybermen. The other Doctors were perfectly aware of the cybermen's involvement on Gallifrey. The first Doctor mentions them and was with them when the master tricked the cyberman across the checkered trap. The second Doctor, with the brigadier encounters them, the Fifth Doctor encounters them with the Master. You have done well but come on Give Pertwee his due credit and revise (Pertwee is my favourite Doctor).I actually think that John Nathan Turner/Terrance Dicks wisely chose Pertwee to have the most involvement because he hadn't officially had a cyberman story in his original run.
The Five Doctors was home to a lot of first time things, it was the first and only time Sarah Jane meets The Master, the first time The Third Doctor meets the Cybermen, the first time The Master teams up with The Cybermen, the first time The Master meets the First and Second Doctors and it's the first appearance of Rassilon
Really fun video mate. Troughton reigns supreme in having the most Cybermen stories. Curious to know if the Cyber Leader appearance in Logopolis would count?
Cheers Adam! It’s a bit of a grey area, as you’d technically then have to include the montages from The Eleventh Hour, The Timeless Children etc… Perhaps that’s a count for another day! 😂
Although you did mention Time of the Doctor as a story with a cameo (the wooden Cybermen), don't forget the Doctor faced a bunch of 'em while in orbit around Trenzalore.
Personally I feel counting The Power of the Doctor as a Cyberman story is stretching it a bit. The Power of the Doctor is widely considered the Modern Era’s version of The Five Doctors, where the Cybermen have a major cameo appearance. The Power of the Doctor is hardly about the Cybermen & they have as much of a presence in that story as the Daleks do, much like how The Five Doctors is hardly about the Cybermen. Personally for me, both Five Doctors & Power of the Doctor are cameo stories rather than full on Cyber Stories
Yeah, I get that that’s a bit of a grey era. I felt it was a much more substantial ‘cameo’ than the others on the list, so felt it would be a bette edit for the ‘story’ category. But yeah, there’s an element of personal preference there!
Thank you! I decided against include Logopolis, since it’s a montage/arch I’ve footage, but it’s a grey area! Trouble is it’s a bit of a can of worms, as you’d then have to include montages in other stories (The Eleventh Hour, The Lie of the Land, The Timeless Children etc.).
Ahh, for some reason that scene never sticks in my memory! (And I’ve watched the episode at least twice!) Will have to go back and check that out. Thanks for the heads up! 🙌
Wow great, great video man! I’ve also watched the other 3 in this series and loved them, really interesting. I hope you do more for other villains. I do disagree about Day of the Doctor being a cameo though, in my opinion I would say it is a Dalek story. I would consider it both a Dalek and Zygon story. Anyway, great videos, have a good day!
Thank you! That Dalek video was two years ago now, so it’s possible I’d have classed some things differently if I was doing it again. Something to consider when I do the eventual update one day!
Goodness me, this would be a drastically different list if big finish was included. Technically, you could cut half the episodes of the invasion, because they take 4 episodes to actually show up
Cool video, I enjoyed it! Would the Five Doctors not also count as a Third Doctor cyber-cameo story? Although I guess it gets confusing because the First and Second Doctors are in it too, even if they don't face them.
Thank you! Yeah, someone else brought that up. It’s a bit of grey area! I guess you could technically include it - though for the purposes of this list I could only put The Five Doctors in one column!
Flux kind of muddies things because it doesn't follow the format of any previous Doctor Who series. Bits of it are serialised and within that there are some bits that are standalone. Then you have the fact some of the "cameo" stories arguably should have more weight than others, for instance, Flux or The Five Doctors over Dalek. But as you say there's never going to be a perfect way of measuring. The 2nd Doctor being number one seems about right
I realised too late that I’d forgotten to namedrop him, but The Time of the Doctor is included as a cameo (represented by the Wooden Cyberman), so it’s all good 😅
I’d argue that, if you’re going to count Power of The Doctor as a full Cyberman story, you also have to count The Five Doctors. The usage of the Cybermen in both stories is rather similar, with them being secondary recurring antagonists in league with The Master. I’d say they’re on equal footing more or less, so either both of them count as full stories, or neither of them do.
Has to be his second incarnation - when the Cybermen were sneaky, and scary - not the stomping thugs of today. 1) The Moonbase 2) Tomb Of The Cybermen 3) The Wheel In Space 4) The Invasion.
Twice Upon A Time is a bit of a funny case, but yeah, I guess you're right. (It's just archive footage in the finished ep, though, right? Not any of the new stuff.) Regarding Day of the Doctor, I always forget what is/isn't in the Black Archive! I know they're in that painting in the background of the Undergallery too (behind the Fez), but didn't deem that substantial enough for this list.
@@StetsonDoctor twice upon a time in the finished episode was archive footage in the end but they did refilm it and I think that version is included on the blueray release as well. Also I think you should do a similar video about the daleks.
Yeah, I thought so! (I always misremember the broadcast ep as having the footage, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't!) And you're in luck - I covered the Daleks last year! Sontarans next, tomorrow! ua-cam.com/video/J8Fu8oerfJI/v-deo.html
Love these Doctor V Antagonist counts over the 60 yr history. (I'm viewing Jan 2024, vid is from Feb 2023, don't think any cameos need to be added for the four November December 2023 Specials). YT algorithm MAY let me know if there's more than the three I've seen so far. I could not find a playlist on the channel of the series... Cyberman, Daleks, and The Masters. Are there more?

Think the only one you won’t have seen is the Sontarans, plus a fun video I did about the average age of the Doctor actors (though once again, that’s a bit out of date now!). All the data/research comes from me. Similar lists exist online (on TARDIS Wiki, for instance), but I like to do my own to be sure! 😀
Not yet! But very much planning to do more, and a Master video would certainly be good fun. The Sontarans and Weeping Angels are other contenders (though there are less episodes for them).
SMALL PLANET EARTH BECAUSE SUN STAR IS MORE HIGHLY EXTREMELY MASSIVE BIGGER THAN PLANET EARTH. PLANET EARTH IS MORE HIGHLY EXTREMELY SMALLER THAN SUN STAR. SMALL PLANET EARTH.
The Five Doctors is included in the video under the ‘cameos’ section. And while the Third Doctor did face the Cybermen there, ultimately it’s a Fifth Doctor story - so it counts as a Fifth Doctor entry rather than Third.
Kinda hope no one overtakes Troughton 😂

@@limaniopasquale2579 That's really cool!
I’m so glad Troughton is still top. They are are his Villain of his era as the Daleks are to the first ( even though that’s probably been over taken )
