No, the nazis also used that salute. It’s more common than you think
The standard salute was used like 99% of the time during the war, the Roman/Nazi salute was used by political figures and some high ranking Party members.

Ahh it’s ok. Just found it. Germaine Sablon singing The Resistance Song. The best ensemble in the video is by far and away the staff car. Everybody is believable from the well-upholstered officer, to the driver crew, to the Gerd Von Rundstedt lookalike who is perfectly in character as the seasoned old soldier.

There is only one thing wrong that Tunic doesn't have backside buttons for belt.
Some re enacting can’t afford exact uniforms. Sometimes you need to make due with what you have.

Like Equestria army said, some Generalfeldmarschall’s like Gerd von Rundstedt wore uniforms of their old units that held “honorary command” of from World War I.
That uniform is of a honorary colonel,awarded to generalfeldmarschall.feldmarschall model was also awarded with honorary colonel .

Remember reenactment is for the public not for inside jokes among reenactors only. Grossdeutschland was not even at Stalingrad so these men, if they were fat before Stalingrad, would be fat... afterwards, too.

It’s because when it was really hot soldiers would wear what was called an HBT uniform which looked more green
It was a mix of colors. There was no true "feldgrau", just a mix of greens and greys depending on the origin of the wool, the dying process and later in the war wood fibers began no be used more which gave them more brown and greyish colors

Gross Deutschland Aufklarungs seems to do more late war Western Front events than Eastern ones, so they might as well just take off their cuff titles, repaint their vehicle insignia and call themselves something like "352nd Infantry Division" or "716th Infantry Division".

Great video and music, but what is going on besides German soldiers driving around and trying to find the source of radio transmissions, I guess. I've never seen such a device before in all of my hours spent watching WWII shows and online vids. Also, what unit do the guys with the helmets represent? Time to Google...
The men with the RED stop sign in there belt are the German Equivalent to MP's in the U.S. Army. The Horsh is picking up the Field Marshal and staff for a Troop inspection, which took place off camera.

becouse they didn't use black uniforms during ww2, only in prewar era

There are extremely rare photos of honorary SS men wearing them during the early war years such as Ulrich Graf, but they were effectively banned by Himmler in 1942. Maybe do four seconds of research first.

I find this very disturbing. Although the Nazis on Hogans Hero's were a far more formidable force. Somehow American civil war reenactments and this aren't quite the same thing.

Think of it in a different perspective. These old men are reenacting the final stages of the war when old men and young children started to make up the majority of the Army. Also, the quality of the Uniforms degraded over time, I'm a sure of that.
